Michael Bolton (the guy the camera kept going to). When the camera went to him for his opinion he was literally speechless at first but when he finally composed himself he said that she had taken the role of 'virtuoso'. Needless to say but she won that edition of the show. I am sure that you must've heard the song 'lean on me' before,its a classic & has been sung by numerous people over the years,inc. Michael Bolton obviously, but you can be forgiven for not recognising it because it is usually a slowish,sedate number,absolutely nothing like this version arranged by sohyang,particularly when the beat picks up in the 2nd half of the song. We all know she is an amazing vocalist but she is a masterful arranger too. I think one of the best things about sohyang is her ability to share. To share her joy at singing with her audience but to also share the stage & the plaudits with her fellow performers. She is not an 'i' did this sort of person,she is very much a 'we' did this sort of person,she is such a giving person,one who wants to share her triumph's with all those involved,rather than take all the glory for herself, afterall,if you hear what sohyang herself says,she doesn't sing to gain fame & fortune,she sings to make people happy & I think everyone who has ever heard her sing will confirm that she certainly does that. definitely one of her higher energy performances...it's a nice break from her usual demure & calming stuff (which i love her for so very much, don't get me wrong)! this one got me too the first few times i heard it... despite the happy, upbeat energy i still ended up sobbing like a baby. that's the power of so hyang.

She really does share the stage with the backing singers & the musicians, it’s never just ‘look at me, I am amazing’. I think I’m any other format, except when Sohyang sings it, you will know this song, it’s a rather slow, plodding, affair but you can be forgiven for not recognising it as sohyang’s arrangement is a lot different to the usual incarnations of the song. The theme of the show that week was the songs of Michael Bolton & I don’t know if you realised that the guy with the short hair that the camera kept going to was indeed MB (I think a lot of us just associate him with havin the long hair, like a lion). He can quite clearly be seen saying ‘wow’ & was probably the first to stand & applaud at the end. When the host went to him for his comments he was literally speechless. When he composed himself he simply said ‘that was spectacular’ & then went on to tell her how she had risen to the role of ‘virtuoso’ in that performance.
