- The HCTRA (Harris County Toll Road Authority) operates vehicles that aid motorists and respond to hazards on the toll roads under their jurisdiction. They use lights that are usually Amber on the driver side and Blue on the passenger side. This Whelen Advantedge lightbar from the HCTRA was used around 1996-1999 and holds true to that color scheme. The bar also sports some unusual options including 8 internal strobes while still using end rotators.
This is one of the absolute weirdest AdvantEdge bars I've ever seen, and I am living for it. It's such a bizarrelly specific build, and it barely makes sense. especially with the sheer amount of strobes and the way they're supplied. But I digress. I hope to have many equally as bizarre AdvantEdges in my own collection eventually.
Memphis Police used these lightbars back in the day..........
My town has some of these on their 1999 crown vics
Great video and historical perspective.
Una buen combinación, luces rotarias y estroboscópicos, además de intermitentes y luces de trabajo o perímetro, un gran producto fabricado por Whelen.
We have investigated various contracts and actual costing of upfit gear on our channel
Another great video!!!
Why are the rotators so slow?
GREAT! CHECK ELEKTA LZP LIGHTBAR
Hey man! Do you know where I can find these old brochures for the Whelen bars, like what you shown in the beginning of the video? Cheers
I have a massive collection, but I haven't found any for a while. I used to buy them on ebay and elightbars.
@@elightbarsAh, okay. You wouldn't happen to know if there are any online copies floating around?
@@RedHat2023 I have scanned in about 9k of 25k pages. I'd would like to make them available on elightbars.org when I am done.
