Still weird he says owning a gun is the antithesis of horror. Half the time we see a gun in any horror media we all beg for the characters to actually use the thing.
With you on that for sure. Personally, when it's necessary for a character in a piece of horror to have a gun, I feel that helps enhance the atmosphere. A good example of it would Amnesia: The Bunker. You get a gun, yeah, but you ain't gonna have much ammo, and it's certainly not going to kill The Beast at all. Most that weak 6-shooter can do is slow it down or scare it off.
@@bounteousninegaming8586 Resident Evil and Silent Hill are both beloved horror series where characters have regular access to guns (How beloved each entry is is a different topic entirely). Sure, you can shoot and kill that monster over there, but what about the next one and the one after that? There's always more monsters. Of course, that's just one way to do it, but seeing as how both franchises are still making games to this day, seems like guns and horror can work together just fine!
nah he actually cooked with that one, very very few horror movies would actually be fun if the gun actually worked. "oh look its voorhees grab the gun" "huh that was easy". i can think of one where it actually works well and thats alien but idk if you could even call that horror in this day and age.
@@TheErikjsm You solely put it in the perspective of making a fight easier. The thing is, it adds tension when it is used and does little to nothing. Basically shows in a visibly tangible sense of how screwed you really are. Trick r Treat probably being a good example of this for the spirit of Halloween that got blasted by a shotgun and still kept attacking the old man like it was nothing. A Quiet Place the first movie also being really good for it... as the Death Angels have extremely thick armor, but it was still needed to be used at the end to finish off them off. Of course that's not really what my comment is about anyway. My comment is about, when we see a gun and the characters either never use it, or miss every shot. It's a trope even more common in horror video games than movies while it happens with both video games are far worse at this, cause you would see a gun right on the table maybe even a full magazine sitting right next to it and you can't even grab it cause the game doesn't allow that. To make a model for the thing, put it in this very accessible location, and all it is is just decoration for the game.

What has to be acknowledged from a critical leftist lens is that hating "white trash", the Appalachian region, etc. is deeply rooted classism masked by a filter of political reasons. A basis in lack of money, style, education, etc. - a lack of "class". It's something that's difficult to make people think about because generally the people who speak up about classism are the people who hold those opinions on southerners, and the people who are subjected to those opinions aren't interested in talking about classism, so it goes under the radar.
Most of americas problem is classism. The issue is a lot of these types of UA-camrs are upper middle class and have no clue that race has a factor in personal problems while class is a factor in all problems. So of course the middle class white UA-camrs has no clue.
A good quote I’ve heard is “ a rich black man and a poor black man will face the same racism, but that’s about all they will face together because with money comes power”

@@roberkraft1982That's the funny thing; classism is the -ism that is mostly ignored, probably because the people who scream offenses about EVERYTHING benefit from their class placement. Got it. People like this guy makes me ashamed of myself.
@JoshuaAmalaraj Well yeah, but associating snobbery to an entire group of people as a way to shield yourself from criticism because of your own snobbery is morally wrong in so many levels that I can't even begin to describe. It's like if I stole something and when somebody criticized me for it, I said something like: "Oops, sorry, I can't help it, I have big ears and with that comes a certain level of thievery" I'm basically labelling millions of people as thieves as a way to shield myself from criticism.
His apology showed that he has no awareness of what people at large felt he did wrong. Wendigoon being zen asf keeps pushing me more and more towards the idea that maybe being religious ain't so bad. That kind of peace don't seem terrible.
Religion on a personal belief level is rarely the problem, it's the people that use it to justify shitty behavior/beliefs. Without religion, those people would find another way to rationalize immorality. There are great religious people and great secular people as well. Just as eugenics was a "scientific" way to dehumanize disabled and racially-othered groups, so too have religious institutions been used for a spiritual justification.
From personal experience I can tell you that there is a security that comes in a worldview and philosophical framework built on something solid. Heck, even atheists like Nietzsche admitted that, which is why they attempted to find something else solid to build their foundation on (and sometimes even mourned the supposed "death of god").
@@novy3068 I completely agree, but would expand it to say that religion can even be a good thing on a societal level. Sure, you can shoot and kill that monster over there, but what about the next one and the one after that? There's always more monsters.
Of course, that's just one way to do it, but seeing as how both franchises are still making games to this day, seems like guns and horror can work together just fine!
@lluviathewolfgirl Exactly!
nah he actually cooked with that one, very very few horror movies would actually be fun if the gun actually worked.

If he never read comics, I dread to see what his work looked like, and that "work" "ethos" explains his videos so goddamn much
I've never seen why "I have a black friend" isn't valid. Wouldn't a racist person not be friends with a black person? The editor thing is stupid and not even comparable to that anyway. People you work with and people you're friends with are two very different people
@@rawman44because the people who this sort of racial division benifits need to be able to paint people who aren't racist as racist.
@@rawman44
Because people like Zane have said for years that the defense of “I’m not racist, I have a black friend” isn’t valid.
So to hear him use it is funny.
I am racist. I have black friends. They're also pretty racist.
I think we're all racism bros
Let's go racism friend lists.
>Wendigoon can’t be empathetic because he was born rich
Wonder if he applies this to Karl Marx & Fredrich Engels too 🤔
I find it hilarious how In Praise Of Shadows spends the most time berating Wendigoon and yet he was the only person mentioned in that video that did not absolutely tear him apart
Complete non-apology. Pure deflection, excuses, and trying to rewrite history.
I am of the opinion that a great deal of western ethics came into being because of Christian influence, and was hugely important in securing the (relative) freedoms present there. Now, that doesn't mean it was all good, people used the Bible to defend white supremacy and slavery for example, but like you said: "Without religion, those people would find another way to rationalize immorality."
I recently converted to Catholicism and I can say for certain my life has improved for the better. I feel much more at peace and calmer than before.
Definitely read more and educate yourself. I would recommend going to church a few times just to see if you like it. As a Christian I can say that the peace that Christ offers is quite real.
"Slight left lean." Tom, this guy is pretty far left.
woosh
As someone who is actually far right, this guy has no idea what far right is and just paints normie conservatives as "far right."
"...more Conservative and traditionally capital-A 'America'..."
Yes, America is a proper noun. Those always capitalized. Thank you for joining us for "21st-Century English."
I can’t even begin to imagine, how much pampering and sheltered parenting this boy had to grow up and have this kind of personality
His parents were probably decent people but like so many, Zane became chronically online and was told by other nutters that unless others adhere to all the 'new are rules' they're 'bad'.
Too many times have I seen people like Zane turn out to have a decent family who even with faults would still help him. HE on the other hand would not help them due to viewing them as lesser than.
Tl;dr- his parents probably raised him as best they could. He's just a piece of garbage.
What an apology. I would have accepted if it he said sorry, actually wanted to take accountability for his actions, not playing victim, and all around being a narcissistic snob.
At this point, we need to provide a template for morons like I, Piece of Shit to follow. And its a very simple one.
"I apologize for the many, many terrible things I've said/done. I admit it was out of an anger-filled, misinformed perspective that I've made that video, and lacked the research and facts that I should've considered long before I've published anything. I spent much of the time complaining about my many misfortunes, and the way people have treated me for an opinion I've shared, but then lacked that same charity when taking into account what I wrote about Brendan Buckingham, Tom, Wendigoon, etc. I was a hypocrite, and I was blind to my own hubris. I realize how hurtful my video must've been, and how much damage it has done to both my and their reputations. I failed my audience, I failed myself, and I am sorry. Moving forward, I hope to never again repeat these mistakes, and to never let my emotions override my better judgment. I know that many of you will hate me, and its okay. I deserve it. The best I can do, is from this point on, to do my best to change your perspective as best I can. "
I bet if his 'apology' was even half of what's written above, he would've been much better received. But he doesn't know how to apologize because he doesn't actually feel sorry. That's the problem.
No honest gay man dresses as poorly as "In Praise of Shadows" was literally dressed as one of the village people with that frilled jacket.
Whoa whoa whoa, dont insult the Village People like that
I dunno man I dress kinda whatever but I like the D so I feel like that's not quite right. Though I do like to design outfits and stuff so maybr I just channel it into that rather than actually doing the wearing I dunno.
I feel personally called out.
I have some news for you about the Village People
Maybe he's not as well off as people have been saying?
The funny thing is that the guys IPoS is going after are some of the nicest, most forgiving people you'll find online. The GunTube community is really chill, and ex-military guys and those around that culture are pretty used to guys being a little rough around the edges sometimes. Those are all guys who'd love to try and have a conversation with him, have some drinks, and talk about life.
2:42 fun fact, half a mile is about 800m which in Australia is considered the walkable catchment of a train station. That is, half a mile is considered a reasonable distance for someone to walk to a train station on a regular basis.
Besides, if you are actually disabled, you know what you can do? You can get one of those little parking stickers and park in those reserved spots closer to the venue, specifically created to manage this specific issue.
Half a mile is considered walkable in the US too. My buddy's driveway is half a mile long. This dude is just a pansy.

IPOS is just someone who clearly doesn't understand horror and politics. There are horror movies that talk about topics like racism, however The Hills Have Eyes is not one of them, the movie is quite literally about a family of cannibals attacking a group of people. IPOS is upset that isn't as popular than what he wants to be and viewed his UA-cam as a way to get rich quick
Sounds about right. All the things he’s said and seldom even an attempt to take responsibility.
@@kriskartoon5435really it's the most bland milquetoast take you can have, that this film is some sort colonization allegory.
Wes Craven has said that Papa Jupiter's speech was inspired by this sort of anti-American anti imperialist rhetoric that was common at the time. It's not the only theme in the film, but it's there.
This guy has learned nothing.. typical youtuber apology... didnt adress much if not anything he said. Just playing the poor me..
The funniest thing about his idiotic and absurd video is that it generated one of the strongest examples of Streisand effect, driving attention and subscribers to every channel he attacked, while simultaneously destroying his own channel. It was kind of beautiful to watch. 😅
I still can't believe that this dude said the hill people could represent any of these marginalized groups and couldn't fathom that they were just murderous hillbillies. But then again, I can see why. Because using the logic he uses, that would mean those hillbilly neighbors, he lives with in Appalachia would be a marginalized group.
i love how someone wasnt important enough to properly research, but was important enough to slander. totally makes sense, totally legit apology.
He should’ve been grateful that his life wasn’t ruined after he tried to wreck multiple careers, and stayed under his rock. But no, he came back and learned nothing. Many such cases.
Zane ""horror movies are about love"
Me "sure Hellraiser"s Cenobites are just about spreading free love"
Well I understood his point, in that it's a community of misfits, especially 'back in the day'
I mean, from their perspective, they probably are, but that's exactly why Moral Relativism is a stillborn worldview.
The guy used the "my friends are black" card but said I don't hate people on the right. I hired a guy that wore a hat and I didn't hate him (at least publicly) 😂😂
Right. You know Zane was probably insufferable to the guy in private, trying to “educate” him on why he’s wrong and Zane is such a righteous left-wing hero 😂
Listen, I tell jokes that involve the gays. Rarely there might even be a homophobic slur (usually directed at my really gay friend ). I would never seriously claim that being gay makes someone snobby or bitchy or into art.
These extremely far left types like IPoS often times will let little nuggets like this slip. It’s a clear sign that his actual beliefs that he never shares are quite different than those he presents.
Tom looks like he's back in his old apartment in this video.... audio quality and all 💯
Love that tom recorded this in a wartorn bulgarian bunker house with the family of 14 on the other side of the door. Stay safe tom!

I love this guy. He does absolutely no research on anything to the point of even saying he bearly watches UA-cam before doing UA-cam callouts but fells like he has the knowledge to make videos on people. Its like watching a little kid tell you about how something works because their friend told them. The pure ego of it.

I'm actually pretty happy he came back. I wish the apology had been better and more self aware, but, like Wendigoon, I dont want to see this dude's youtube dream fail. I followed him for a while before the drama, and he did often have some decently thought out and insightful things to say in his analysis videos. The Slenderman one Wendigoon mentioned was very good, and I also personally really liked his Nick Cage video. His recent video on John Waters is also very well done. I hope he keeps his nose clean, and I hope he finds success despite his mistakes
Agreed completely. I've watched his videos for years and, while some are a bit much, I've generally found his analysis quite good. That's coming from me, a Bible thumping libertarian
