Tuning vocals isn't always easy. Unless you want that over the top T-Pain sound, you have to take it easy.
There are many ways to make your vocal tuning more natural and subtle. Inside this video, I'm going to give you 4 easy ways to make your pitch correction sound more musical.
The first place where most people go wrong is that they rely on automatic pitch correction, or just load up an auto-tune plugin to do their vocal tuning.
    This is a big mistake.
This will make your vocals sound robotic - and affect the notes that are already in tune and the perfect pitch.
Instead, I recommend going through and MANUALLY fixing the notes that are out of pitch.
It may take slightly longer to apply vocal tuning this way, but it's worth it for the natural pitch correction that comes as a result.

This video made remember about "Blues notes": Sometimes to vocal seems to not be on tune, but when I tune them they sound worse, and that's because that note is part of the performance, it was intentional.

Thank you for this, it was very helpful. I work with very extremely talented musical theatre singers, but I noticed when I tuned the whole take it just looses something. I'm going to try and only tune the words that really need it. Thanks for the tips!

Which Melodyne package do you use? Is Melodyne Essential enough for just vocal pitch correction? or do i need the more advanced software?
