@4:52 I skied that hill just before you and my legs were burning a bit right there. Of course it was the end of the day and not the beginning. I'll think differently next month. And thanks for the demo on Cat pickup/skiing.
Was there years ago during a monster spring storm. Very few people were left near the end of the day. Got on top lift and there was no one in a chair as far as I could see in front or behind me. Scariest experience I’ve ever had in a chair as it was blowing sideways and I was swinging like crazy. They closed the lift as soon as I got off. Couldn’t see the drop in spot. Went for it and accidentally hit the cornice. Luckily didn’t biff it and struggled my way down. Can’t wait to get back there.
Sounds like Loveland. You can get stuck out in some gnarly weather there. My first time skiing there I was at the top of 4 in total white out and just barely got myself down to the trees and almost ate it so many times. But it’s super fun! You should check out the lift 8 terrain next time you go. That is my favorite.
First place I skied in Colorado in 1978. I learned to ski in Pennsylvania so when people said it was icy at Loveland I thought if this is icy in Colorado they should try skiing in the East. 🤪
Lots of wide open terrain.. looks windy on that ridge..how cool is that, with the cat ride! Well Dom you sure do like searching out those little fun areas that would raise question with novice...awesome mtn.explorer/skier.
@@darinsmith2458 Chair 8 is on the other side of 70, there's a tunnel to take you to the lodge from there. I made it to all the lifts in the Basin, the separate area the Valley was shut down for the season
Monarch Mountain is part of the partner pass program, basically a pass at Monarch will give you 3 free days at a lot of the smaller independent ski areas! It’s a pretty good bargain!
I like to sound dramatic and tell people, "I have skied off the top of the continental divide!"...then I let them off the hook and let them know it's "just" lift 9 at Loveland....lol...I broke my arm over spring break at Loveland. Ended my season. LOVE this place though. If it wasn't for my much more sensible wife, I would be there closing weekend. But...she wisely stated "You don't want to ruin motorcycle season also..."...well played....well played
@@wetsockoutdoors8538 yeah...I told a couple of friends that...jokingly. I mean its true...just sounds more dramatic that way instead of "I skied lift 9 at loveland." And yes...that was a rambling comment. Sorry. lol
I think you are supposed to be an expert skier to do videos about skiing on UA-cam but I also know that expert skiers do not wear Go Pro cameras when they ski, so … there certainly seems like something fishy is going on here ….
Dude- I like how you always have such fun! That’s why I like your channel! Cool that your Mom joined you- what a cool son!❤

Yea no problem, I'd like to come back to ride the cat to the top

Such a beautiful place, and you ski it like a boas

Trail map is a nice addition to the past couple vids 👍
Why so few people skiing?
They probably drove right past it, catch this place in my gems playlist!
I always wanted to ski Loveland. It looks like some of the lifts weren't open?
Is chair 8 on the other side of I70? Would that be the north side of I70?
I know I have said this before but those skis really go through it all. I am impressed.

how can you afford all of these tickets to all these places???
