It's absolutely true. I have tried a dozen mmorpgs in my days, and I have never felt the need to stop and read the story or understand missions. The vestige is like a dragonborn to me, or the nereverine, or the hero of kvatch. It's a full on elder scrolls game, but online.
i ply eso on&off for about 5 years and i have to say: this game is the only mmo that doesnt feel like mmo for most of the time. voiced dialogs, missions at least try to be more complex than typical mmo "collect 5 of blahblah, kill 5 blahblah" theres always something to do here, thousands of missions, side missions, delves, skill training you name it. combat is yeara ahead compared to wow, bcs in eso you actually fight: attack, block, dodge - all in action rpp style. game is not very "elder scrolls experience" like single player ones, but it rly implement plenty of mechanics from sp elder scrolls games, sometimes faithfully, sometimes not so much (but i understand it, its mmo after all so it works a little different and has its own limitations). overally eso is definetely a game closest to single player quality and experience in mmo. even if it may not feel like elder scrolls sometimes, lore and stories makes up for it, theres way over 10k books to read for elder scrolls fans. AND ofc my favourite: dragons in elswyr the best dragons battles in mmos ever (very high on my overall top dragon fights list). Bosses literally fly over map and to fight them you need to damage them in air
The game is basically free and you don’t have to subscribe to any membership to play and have a great time. You don’t need any additional chapters and honestly a lot of previous chapters and dlc are free for new players.
It's an elder scrolls themed MMO not just an elder scrolls game that's online. Good dirt isn't that cheap. Regardless of my complaints of ZOS I have active eso+ and around 2500hrs in game.
Been playing since launch and probably have 10-15k hour’s at this point “college life was good 😂”. I literally only play this game “when it works.” That being said, I highly recommend the game, however, the state of the game is decaying rapidly while the in game “real money crown store” marketplace is swelling with cloned and reskinned content. If you don’t have a current generation gaming platform or a solid computer with better stats don’t bother. That is my warning at this point. The servers are hardly stable and old technology is barely viable anymore. For example my ps4 pro would disconnect consistently during large flights, especially around keeps or in the imperial city. My ps5 only has tremendous server side lag. No blue screens or anything on my end though. I still “and many people i play with” get randomly dropped during dungeons and trials too. It feels like they are just running out of room in the game engine or the servers or something. Also, if you plan on playing the game, you will definitely want to invest in ESO+. That or have an inventory full of flowers and ingredients 😂. I will say that the lore and combat keep most of us coming back for more. 😂😂
Well thank you for the info, ill still take ESO because it's free on epic next week but ill think good about playing it as i have bit opd tech, kinda low end. God bless you and your family,in Jesus name i pray, amen.
Yea the player base is quite impressive considering the amount of times we’ve had shit years of the game in terms of improvements and updates very loyal core fan base that being said can’t wait for the new game in the next year or two it’s due
Even if you just pay 1 month for eso plus and then cancel that is one month of all dlc except the newest one. Definitely worth it if you want a good elder scrolls binge
Maybe this is a really stupid question, and I'm sorry if it is, but how do you get it free for PlayStation when you are required to have a PS+ membership to play? Is there a way to get the membership for free? I've been playing this game on and off for years and never knew there was any other way around that (unless it's just a PC thing). Just recently renewed my Plus membership so I could hop back in.
It's TES, if you subtract a chunk of immersive charm, add shallow, asinine lore and contrive core/mechanical skill checks with a social contact tier to wall off much of the endgame content (it is an MMO, after all). Besides lootbox fashion drops, which are problematic for us undisciplined aesthetes, ESO Plus becomes increasingly necessary the more playtime you accumulate. Oh and PvP is atrocious, cause outdated server tech. All in all, is it worth a try? I think so. Been a lot of good and bad since I first logged in at console launch, but I also managed to forge a few lifelong friendships along the way. Maybe you will too.
So I got this day one and hated it. Came back on PC when they had the one tamerial update and Morrowind expansion and was hooked for awhile. I recently got the game on ps5 for like $7 for the base game and the Morrowind expansion and frankly for $7 you're getting a fuck ton of content. You can play through all 3 faction campaigns plus morrowind. That's literally hundreds of hours of gameplay
Elder scrolls is an amazing game iv had it for years now. I wont lie you will end up paying for dlc you kinda have to when you hit endgame also you need to pay 15 or 20 dollars for eso plus subscription that gives you alot of content on a monthly
I'm currently having that same issue. I'm doing quests and all, but for some reason I'm kind of lost in what I'm supposed to be doing. Plus, the combat is way too easy.
i spent three hours trying to find the entrance to one of the areas of high rock, cause it had one of the two dragon priest masks you can actually get but when I found the gate it's a fucking dlc
"no matter what the people who played it all this time and know how they're getting screwed over are saying, even tho they know better, my opinion matters more"... Ok bruh.
The game is pretty much unplayable without the eso plus subscription. You'll lose out on half the game without it as it doubles your bank space and gives you an infinite crafting bag space. So every little ingredient or material will take up an inventory slot without it.
The game is good yes as with all things there can be improvements, but overall there is so much to do and so many places to see and they keep adding more and more and more. I’ve been playing since 2016 and it’s the best game out there.
I played Skyrim for the first time a week ago and love it …I was wishing it was online multi player so my wife could play, does this have the potential to fulfill that experience?
First time playing in 2023 i downloaded from xbox game pass ultimate on xbox and end playing in like i dont know 5 minutes and i was crying how bad it was from starting few hunderts or thausands of health everything was so bad compare to Skyrim
@@KINGDONsfa I have loved it, although not played with anyone because I have no friends and don't really have much time to organise things with friends (plus they don't even have ESO)
My biggest problem is clunky combat, and only what, 8 spells/actions gets a bit stagnant for me. There are sooooo many awesome combinations, if you could have even 12-16 total spells to rotate through, would be so great for me. And just general clunkiness of it
The games good for a bit but once you complete the story the game suck especially pvp for new players due to the very op players the one hit you constantly and you only do 100 tops of damage to them
All the new players are gonna be shocked when they find out that endgame is dead. It takes almost an hour to get into a trial, and most days, you will not get into one. ESO plus is almost mandatory, if you do not need it, you are not playing correctly, as the devs intend.
In my opinion until the developers actually improve this game (which they have been saying for years they would but still haven’t) I don’t think it’s worth it for a new player to start this game. It’s a waste of time in my opinion.
Exactly. Bro is just trying to hype the game. Also he failed to mention all the expansions you have to pay for, and all the pay for convenience options in the store. The game throws the store at you... but fuck I still like the game 😅
@robertandrews6828 dude it's a f***g short, you expected 100 essay?! In fact, I do have videos talking about everything you said, but I assume you were just ignored it
Naw it's better to play Skyrim tbh because they just limit your bag space and it's so tedious meanwhile you get a much better experience in Skyrim. In fact in skyrim your MOUNT SPEED doesnt take 3 months to pay for. Its so stupid how in ESO you can only increase your mount soeed upgrade by 1% every 7 hours... And the price ramps up to. The best parts of ESO is the cinematics and story but you can just watch a video of them instead of wasting time in the game.
This game is amazing in story mode. PvP turned to laggy garbage, crashes, and meta bomber builds. PvE turned to who wants to do this same trial for the 100th time but only faster with different people. No, don't play it. Diablo is coming out.
It IS still Buy to Play. It's just free for a week on Epic. Pay to Play means that you need to pay sub fee to play the game, which this game I doubt will ever move towards
@Nyxson Dude. There's no way you play this game without the crafting bag. Also, what about all the chapters? Buy them separate or get them all (minus necrom) with the subscription. Are you being payed by zenimax? Or just truly this blind. The Pay for convenience in this game is disgusting.
@robertandrews6828 are you going through all the comments just to feel correct?! You could just watch or just read the titles of other videos I made about this game, but I guess you like comment "battling" more
Woah bro is a total shill. You 100% have to have the subscription fee, because without that crafting bag you mind as well forget about professions and omg the bag management without it is horrible. Oh also you want fast mount speed? Pay 20 bucks or wait 8 months to train your horse.
Woah bro made an accusation by just watching 40 seconds of video because he liked something I didn't!!! Even though everything else you said after that was true, just your first 6 words make everything else completely unimportant for me. First impression matters, and you used it for "woah bro is a total shill"
@Nyxson I think most people who want to play mmorpgs want to invest many hours in it. If we go by that, then a player will almost certainly buy the sub (I believe the vast majority of players pay the sub but I don't have data so I could be wrong). In addition to that, I think the company is extremely predatorial in their marketing (loots crates, most best mounts are in crates and you sre not even garuanteed to get them). So to me, saying you will not spend much in the game, and that it is almost free is a bit naive, as most players will want to invest time, and get cool cosmetics ectt.. and I we go by my beliefs mentioned above, most players will end up spending much more than initially anticipated. It's like saying "hey you can go in the casino for free, you don't need to spend a dime!!" Haha That is just my opinion
From the person who has played the game extensively, every mount is ONLY cosmetic and everything in crates are cosmetic. Nothing affects gameplay. That said. Some items can be counted as pay to win if you prefer that type of gameplay. I am talking about home decorations (majority of which can be bought through the store and crates) and houses themselves, best of which can ONLY be bought through paid currency. ONLY pay to win thing that I do not like (and majority is with me here as well) is crafting bag (bag with infinite space for materials), which is ONLY accessible for subscribers. All that said. Saying that this is a "Casino" is very wrong. It is more like a large playground big part of which can be accessed through one time fee with a few stores with "clothing"
ESO is great but it's not even close to being a true Elder Scrolls game. Literally no feeling of danger or excitement as you explore because you can kill everything so easily and it's literally imposible to die unless you just stand still and do nothing and even then it takes a lot of time for your character to die. If the overland content was harder, it would easily be top1 mmorpg but it's just boring unless you spend all your time reading lore books.
I wish overland content was all that made me hate this game. Overland was never meant to be hard to start with for anyone even mid game. Try lagging out in a Vet Hardmode Trial that you finally got to the end of with a 12 man of incompetent guild types.
@@bhackaa I did, I completed half of the endgame achievments so I know what's hard and what's not. Storylines can't be taken seriously because of how easy they are. Mehrunes Dagon about to destroy the whole world? Sure one second, I'll just kill him with three hits. Like how is that even supposed to be serious lmao
@@Nyxson who said anything about survival? I get it you're a fanboy but every Elder Scrolls game had some challenge in it. There's literally no challenge in ESO unless you're doing trifecta runs for achievments. You slay your way through everything, one shotting all kinds of "greatest threats" that nobody can't take care of but somehow there you are just annihilating it within seconds.
No its not. Ive played it, its crap, its awful and it feels cheap, copy and paste. Hitboxes everywhere, terrible health bars, usless ui bar and terrible bow play. The searching urns etc pointless. Armour crafting, pointless and not worth anything. Played far better mmo games like dc universe online and thats very old. Eso shoulve been more like skyrim and not like whatever... That mess is 👍 The game is rated for 18 but plays and looks like a pegi game for kids. Was not impressed at all.
Left after almost a decade.. nothing new for pvp as all focus is on card games and whacky year long single player or group play stories.. got extremely fed up seeing the same players day in day out, only see a new face during mid year and it’s rare for those players to stay for long..
Lol, Nah man. I played it for 4 years. The game went to hell very quickly. The only thing that works is the monetization. Don't even download it with no subscription cause you will be unable to manage even early game inventory without the paid craft bag. Don't get excited about PVP. The optimization is so bad you need a RIG to play with just regular lag. Then it's just 24 man groups running in packs mowing down everything in sight. Pvp is based on how many people you can get grouped up and lag the server with. 9/10 anyone who disputes my claims I can't even take seriously. I got to the point where I knew everything about the game inside and out, and spent most of my time in PVP solo or small scale fighting zergs in the end because PVE just becomes dull. Game is addictive, but also simply does not work. 100% if they FIXED (and I mean fixed entirely) the atrocious lag and desync in this game I would gladly play again. That's never gonna happen. We heard it for 5 years. Dragonbones patch killed the game and even adding Necros didn't resurrect it.
@Nyxson 🤠 Hold them accountable for wasting so many veteran players time and money, and instead of talking about how they did us we will talk about how they redeemed themselves. I'll admit I'm cocky in my opinion, but I only knew around 20-30 players on my server that could even 1v1 me. I was ENTIRELY invested in the game. 12+ hours a day no life-ing it even though I had a job. I'd sleep 3 hours and go work all day just to come home and play. Seems crazy that I'd stop posting ESO content right as I started getting views on my YT to, but that's just how unplayable the game became.
So you played 12+ hours a day, you played for 4 years (I assume that not every day was like that), and since you consider yourself so powerful, I assume that you did everything that there was to do. I also assume that you enjoyed it a lot. But now you are saying that devs should be held accountable for that? How? By not letting other, new players enjoy it? Don't you think it is insanely hypocritical?! P.S. I didn't mention ANYTHING about endgame and mind that 99.9% of players won't play like you. And this video was was for the ones who want to get into game... new players
@Nyxson Nah. I didn't do everything there was to do. PVe became dry because of balance changes and ungodly desync and lag. PVP the same. This is a live service game lol, with endless amounts of new grinds that come out constantly updated. It's not some game you just do everything then drop. You've missed the plot because you get clicks for new players just like the devs missed the plot because they want to cater to new players. I'm glad they have you to usher in new cash cows tho. They paying you for these vids? The way you only focused on one thing, and ignored everything else I said lmao. I thought you might be that 1/10. Guess not. Enjoy the never ending search for clicks dude. Later on. For anyone considering the game, sure it'll be fun until you get to midgame where you realize that server lag and desync makes it impossible to do anything that takes focus. Some days won't be as bad as others, but you will also be dealing with the devs nerfing your build every patch to keep you grinding anyhow, and catering to new players like this dude because they don't need vets for money, they need a never ending stream of hopefuls.
And here I thought you were capable of healthy communication. Instead you turned out to be "I don't like what you said therefore you must be paid off by someone to bait for clicks". Enjoy being... whatever you feel you are right now.
@@Nyxson i started with skyrim and moved backwards to morrowind and oblivion. Loved all 3 and elder scrolls online was so hyped for me. It's free right now on epic games :)
It’s $100 on PlayStation 4
I bought the game for £1.50
Dead game used to be so much fun in 2019 to 2022
WELL WELL WELL NOW ITS FREE IN STEAM
What if i wanted a decent difficulty? You obliterate literally everything in the overworld by just spamming buttons
Difficulty?! In Overworld?! Difficult content is usually reserved for instanced dungeons in most MMOs.
And you keep forgetting about world bosses here
Go to dungeons and talk that mess
Legit ❤it I’m there for lore and lore is good
I wouldnt say its second to none lol but it's good
ESO is not free... you will pay for everything, mounts cost real money..GG
This is probably going to be completely untrue soon, since its free on epic games they will make it pay 2 play
You could just watch or just read the titles of other videos I made about this game, but I guess you like comment "battling" more
Good thing i got this for free on epic
it is now free on epic games
🎮☺️😎🫶🎊 Masterpiece .....
ESO is amazing
Are they paying for this?
Who is paying for what?
@@Nyxson Bethesda or somebody else...you should know😂
You wish... or rather I wish 😂
But you could literally do 10 seconds of research on my channel to know the answer before asking that question
Most lackluster A->B repeat MMO ive ever tried next to neverwinter
Free ON epic right NOW
I got the game for free in epic games
Yall game is free for 6 days
Woah bro is a total shill. You 100% have to have the subscription fee, because without that crafting bag you mind as well forget about professions and omg the bag management without it is horrible. Oh also you want fast mount speed? Pay 20 bucks or wait 8 months to train your horse.
Woah bro made an accusation by just watching 40 seconds of video because he liked something I didn't!!!
Even though everything else you said after that was true, just your first 6 words make everything else completely unimportant for me.
First impression matters, and you used it for "woah bro is a total shill"
Can you elaborate on the mount speed thing? Is this equivalent to normal running speed without a mount or something if you don't do this one thing?
Orrrrr its free for playstaion plus extra
lets see how much you spend after that ;)
At best, subscription at best
Time will tell
Or I can tell 😂
It's like saying "hey you can go in the casino for free, you don't need to spend a dime!!" Haha
That is just my opinion
I love skyrim
eso the single player "mmo".
But the graphics suck lmao I’m sure there is stuff they missed
Free in epic rn
This sounds like an add
Interesting... when was Elder Scrolls supposed to feel like survival?!
You lost me on "Fanboy".
Have a good day
BS.
That mess is 👍
The game is rated for 18 but plays and looks like a pegi game for kids.
Was not impressed at all.
cronus zen is required for this hacked POS game
Elder scrolls online is trash...
Left after almost a decade.. nothing new for pvp as all focus is on card games and whacky year long single player or group play stories.. got extremely fed up seeing the same players day in day out, only see a new face during mid year and it’s rare for those players to stay for long..
It's an MMO with a $15 a month sub fee. That's enough reason for me not to play it.
I would call bs and dispute it, but I won't, since you have already put people like me into "9/10"
@Nyxson 🤠 Hold them accountable for wasting so many veteran players time and money, and instead of talking about how they did us we will talk about how they redeemed themselves.
Elder scrolls online was terrible! Hands down worst elder scrolls game.
Can I ask?! How much of it did you play... and, what other Elder Scrolls games have you played?
@@Nyxson i started with skyrim and moved backwards to morrowind and oblivion. Loved all 3 and elder scrolls online was so hyped for me. I bought it on release day and was sooo dissapointed with the lack of depth i felt with the world. I no longer felt like i was in the elder scrolls. I played it for roughly 4 months until i finally just gave up on it because it felt so foreign to me and went back to skyrim.
( also to add, i had a first generation console of ps4’s and it didnt help any with lag every 3 minutes.)
ESO was terrible on release, no one argues with that, but it has been a better half of the decade since that and it is a COMPLETELY different game now. You need to check it out again.
So saying that it is "hands downs worst elder scrolls game", is unfair at least (plus you probably haven't played Elder Scrolls Blades 😂)
@@Nyxson to be fair, i guess you have a point.... Fine fine, since the price points a lot better, and i got a newer console ill give it another go to give it a more fair shot. And also, i have bot played blades but i really want to because of what i have heard about how awful it is.😅😂
...should I get it...? 🤔🧐
holy disappointment
