I hope this is the start of a trend with Nintendo, so many great Gameboy games could benefit from a fresh coat of paint like this. The Super Mario Land series, Donkey Kong, heck, they've already done Metroid II. I'd personally love to see the Zelda Oracle Of Ages/Seasons given the same treatment.
This remake is my first exposure to the game. I don't know anything about it going in, and I'm loving every minute of it. I'm here because I couldn't figure out how to get the flying chicken. Maybe I should try other Zelda games once I beat this
To be honest, this game is the main reason why I'm going to buy a Switch, I'm not even interested into other games at all, just seeing one of my childhood's fav games reborn this perfect way is a true pleasure, cheers to Nintendo for this impressive work
The og Links Awakening was my first videogame ever. Can't possibly express all the love I've got for that masterpiece of a game. Played it about 50 times at least and still every playthrough is so much fun to me
So much heartfelt nostalgia from this. Games in the 90's had so much mythos to them. I loved this game so much as a kid and am so glad they remade it. Back in the early 90's there was no internet and very few people to talk to about video games, I thought I was the only one who really liked this one. I am glad now to see that it is loved the world over by both older and new generations.
I grew up in the NES era (I turn 40 next year) and this was the first Zelda game I ever beat. I was 11 and had a copy with my Gameboy DMG. I played it so much it was crazy. At some point I got stuck and in those days there was no internet or anything to look it up, so unless you had some friends that also had the game you were on your own. I eventually beat it, and it was the first long form game I conquered. I remember catching some feels at the end. Even though it isn’t the best Zelda title, it’s in my top 3 because the nostalgia is so heavy and it is a really really good game in its own right. Playing it again last year as a remake was so awesome, this little title really deserved a full on remake, And I’m glad Nintendo showed it the respect it deserves.
I remember playing it and beating it when the year it came out ,and now just beating it again when I'm 40 going on 41.The nostalgia was real, and I hope they do more games like this in the HD 2D format.
I remember getting the original as a birthday present, when it was bundled with my gameboy, back in 1994. It must’ve taken me a year to complete back in elementary school. I couldn’t figure out how to get passed the raccoon, then it took me patience to get passed Moldorm after my oldest cousin helped me. Finding the nightmare key in Bottle Grotto was nerve-wracking, as well as finding how from a friend on how to get the stick for Kiki to use for his “monkey business”. I also got assistance on finding the slime key, then letting another friend get thru levels 4 and 5 for me. Afterward, I thought sequence braking the game was a good idea when I got the treasure items in the last three dungeons, before realizing one of the “eyes” in the Face Shrine map was actually a room. I got lost in Eagle Tower before taking time to destroy the pillars, wandering around aimlessly in Turtle Rock, then finally entering the Wind Fish Egg, then realizing I needed to read the damn book in the library. It also took me two days to beat the final boss. While playing thru my initial run, which lasted a year, I inadvertently bomb-jumped a section into getting the Face Shrine key before completing Bottle Grotto, and finding out about the island. I also discovered the screen warp glitch on accident when I warped from the graveyard into the outer walls of Kanelet Castle. Then, I REALLY discovered the screen warp glitch and had a LOT of fun with that. And I even found 20 seashells and got the Lv 2 sword, and found out I could shoot beams with it. I was 9 years old when I first beat Link’s Awakening. I had a lot of help from people and I made it a mission to beat it on my own the second play through! I felt emotionally invested in this game and to this day have fond memories of beating the final boss, walking home from school, then listening to the end credits as i made myself a peanut butter sandwich. The game felt even more immersive when my mom bought me the Super GameBoy and I had the theater outlining the screen. It was as if I was playing a movie, because for me, it was. It was the most epic movie a young boy had the privilege of playing and experiencing. This was my first Zelda game and it will always have a special place in my heart.
Will never ever forget the music from the Face Shrine. This Dungeon made me so mad as an 8 year old kid playing the original game. Absolutely nostalgic to be playing a new version 20+ years later. Wonderful remake!!!
I can complete this game in my sleep but it's so charming that I always take my time to finish it (much more than the 4-5 hours needed). The ending is so beautiful.

@@danieldicaprio1562 have you ever played CoD? BTW Zelda is not 5 hours, if you don't know what to do. I got stuck quite a few times, think it's about 15 hours for the first walkthrough. But still this game should be 40$ or less in my opinion
Spin off? This is one of the main titles💀 Four swords, Link's Crossbow training or Triforce heroes are spin offs but this is one of the original Zelda games, the 3d ones that have been recently released are way different. The last true Zelda game that has been released apart from this one is A link between worlds for 3ds.
And the thing that makes it even cooler is, if you listen closely, the score is done almost exclusively with the instruments you find in the dungeons. Nice way to tie the score into the main objective.

Hi ProsafiaGaming Good think about Link longplay ProsafiaGaming {Happy Friday ProsafiaGaming} I know your Happy 😊😉👍❤️Love:(Hugo Garcia)
Btw in bottle of grotto why did you load again to start
How did you beat Link's Awakening so quickly?
Thanks for dungeon spoilers :(
I know a lot of people are complaining about the short length of time it takes to play this but it is adorable and I have not rushed it and it will take me much longer than 5hrs. It is for fun so just relax and enjoy
i played it at my own pace, with no rush, giving it one or two hours a day and i've just finished it. yeah, its kinda short but so so so worth the effort and hours to enjoy it to its full beauty 🥰
They only made it 5 fucking hours long?! A full priced AAA game like this? 5 hours?!
@@danieldicaprio1562 have you ever played CoD? BTW Zelda is not 5 hours, if you don't know what to do. I got stuck quite a few times, think it's about 15 hours for the first walkthrough. But still this game should be 40$ or less in my opinion
Is it just me or is this game difficult. I finish a mission and I get stuck on where to go next 😫
Should be 40$
Man, i still remember beating the original game 25 years ago.
I aint a nintendo fan, but this game has a special place in my heart.
What's with the disclaimer there?
@@TrashQueenAndKing Is that all you took from this comment?
Nintendo is Mario and Link. Those two games carry the entire system and are worth it. The original side scroller and original open world games.
@@logicaldude3611 those two characters and their games make Nintendo the best console there is
@@name-nn7cs Nintendo IS video games.
They should make more spin off Zelda games like these. This game was so fun, but so simple. Made me feel happy
for me it was hell becuase it didnt give directions and also the eagle tower was just broken ir sm
@@KatsuKoffee but that's all the fun!! Figuring it out, but I can see how it would be frustrating AF
Spin off? This is one of the main titles💀
Four swords, Link's Crossbow training or Triforce heroes are spin offs but this is one of the original Zelda games, the 3d ones that have been recently released are way different. The last true Zelda game that has been released apart from this one is A link between worlds for 3ds.
@Ezekiel Rose emulate it already on CEMU 💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀💀
@@kass5892 how can i do that
Yeah I’m watching this entire video. I have no life
Me 2 but it helps me fell asleep
Yeah I’m watching this entire video. I have no Switch
i have no life either 'sigh'
Yo what?
Hi
Man they really tried hard on remaking these musics.
Pretty sweet
And the thing that makes it even cooler is, if you listen closely, the score is done almost exclusively with the instruments you find in the dungeons. Nice way to tie the score into the main objective.
