I live in taiwan, where no one plays backgammon. but I developed a fascination.with this game a couple decades ago. so I played jellyfish and later 'lord of the board'. but BG galaxy is the best way to play I've found yet. I'm an average player, but want to say that the community at Galaxy is fantastic. the people I play against are almost always friendly and kind. the chat feature warms my heart and I adore the many kind people I've played against. my Id is 'jim12', and I'm always struggling to get above 1500.
Thanks for sharing your story Jim! We can recommend reading a couple of books on the game: Masterclass (available in shop.backgammongalaxy.com) and From Basics to Badass (available on Amazon).
@@BackgammonGalaxy thanks for the reply. unfortunately, I don't have spare money to buy any book now. I've only had one backgammon book to study in my life...a very old book by Bill Robertie called 'backgammon for beginners'. and until I found Galaxy, all my play was based on that old book. but at your site after every game, I can check the analysis of whatever blunders I made, and try to figure out why they were blunders. and that's been a big help. but in truth that old book and your 'analysis' feature are my only teachers.
In Backgammon Galaxy there should be a feature where the computer gives you a feedback during the game f.e. „Wow“ or „Good“ for good moves and an „Oops“ or „Blunder“ for bad moves haha that would be fun
It's a good idea, but it's cheating, since you are getting feedback during the game. We are going to implement a "training mode" feature one day, where you play against a bot that will give you feedback like this.
I do sometimes like the "hint" feature on BGNJ. It lights up whenever there's another good move. It's up to me if I want to click it or leave the move or try to find it.
@@tgwnn that’s cool! I remember that in Backgammon Ace they had the feature I mentioned. So the Computer would say „Good!“ Excellent or blunder, depending on the move you made ,which was really nice to improve your game :)
Marc and Dagfinn played each other several times in the UBC Contender tournament 2023 in Istanbul... They met each other in the Quarter final over four matches, where Dagfinn ended up with the victory, knocking out Marc.
That is why you should eliminate all time banks in backgammon. Otherwise we could just play against a computer/bot. You could give 15 seconds so people are able to call emergency if their home is on fire or something like that.
I played few times new backgammongalaxy version in safari on Mac when I used link from old web. Today there is no link on old web. How can I play new backgammongalaxy version in safari?
I don't see a lot of recurrent problems in that last position where you hit instead of taking 2 checkers off. If you role a number with a 1 then you can just play the 1 first and then take the checker off. The only number is 2-2 and then you are taking a bunch of checkers off.
I think Marc mentioned that Sander is on mobile. I guess Marc is on PC. I think 1500 is the starter rating for a new player. Might just be because they're on different platforms
@@BackgammonGalaxy gotcha! while you’re here, any way we could get an ios app update that mutes all app sounds when the phone is toggled to silent mode? (the game starting & ending sounds still play regardless). also, remembering our point & clock settings would be nice
Using emojis way too often during these games. It is distracting. We get it, you're promoting it, but that was already established in game 1. Please use it way less. Thank you.
Surprised the game ended with 3 doubles 😂😂😂. You clearly haven’t played this app often enough. Finishing with doubles is the norm. Statistically almost impossible the amount of times it happens, yet not a problem for this game; as well as the horrendously unpredictable, predictable rolls that happen way too often. It’s a shame, the game has so much potential, but is only interested in robots playing the game, making all the same moves 🥱🥱🥱
Mochy, ZZ, Dirk, Ueda, Nick …. Honestly any match like this would be great to watch. Thanks for doing this Marc.
Good idea!

Great content, thanks.
It would be great to see you play a bunch of GMs over time. Go for it. Sounds like a great idea.
Great idea!
Great fun to watch these matches! I'd like to see you play ZZ. He is such a great guy.
Let's make it happen!
LOTS of fun and an excellent match! Congrats Marc!👋👋👋
Love these series, hope to see more. How about playing the top 20 players from the backgammon galaxy ranking?
Good idea!
What an incredible learning tool - thanks so much to Marc and Backgammon Galaxy!
well-played, Marc!
Yes!!! Please keep these up. I’m loving this.
We will try to get Marc to play and stream more!
Nice Marc!! well played hahha im just imagining sander playing without spending a second with a beer :)
That would be unfair advantage... For Sander!
Sander knows how to flex. And I love every second of it.

@@BackgammonGalaxy Exactly. Just like using these long time banks is cheating or at least opens up for possible cheating.

Brilliant work. Thank you both.
Our pleasure!
Great match and content. Would be fun to watch a match vs Dagfinn Snarheim

Thank you for these videos.
Our pleasure Max!
Well done, gentlemen.
Thx for this great content!!! The sound is a little bit too low. I can only understand it with a head set.
Great match! It looks as though the rule of not hitting in the bear off applied in the last game, then Marc got lucky!
Marc got very lucky indeed! :)
Great match
Crazy ending 😃 Thriller movie

Maybe that is a bit harsh... But it could be a special format for speed tournaments?
@@BackgammonGalaxy Back in the Play65-days we played cashgames with no timebanks. ;)

Nice ending...rigged dice? LOLOL Great stuff Marc
Lol yes...
love these. but why’s sander always at 1500 GR?
I think Marc mentioned that Sander is on mobile. I guess Marc is on PC. I think 1500 is the starter rating for a new player. Might just be because they're on different platforms
Because Sander never plays against anybody other than Marc and occasionally ZZ. We need to get him going in the open waiting room.

Backgammon ASMR
Electronic backgammon is not comfortable😢
I get nervous about the timer when watching your videos. Please play casual lol
