I was at work and a coworker of mine locked her keys in her locker so she couldn't go home. Well just so happens I had my pick set in my wallet and after about 6 minutes I had it open for her. First lock I picked that wasn't a clear practice lock and it felt good.

Oh dude u need to find a random padlock or something those practice locks are really just lesson locks, too easy for practice.

Hey man, I believe that lock is a Master #140, or #150, with the rubber coating. Four or five pin, with at least a couple of spool pins...I have many #140's, same design but slightly smaller. I usually end up raking or rocking these open, and comb picks actually work on these as well. They are super-common in North America, but perhaps you are oz/nz situated....reason aside your accent, it is weird for me to watch you pick upside down...i've never been to southern hemisphere but heard you push pins down, not lift them up..as seen here..

Definitely not a 140. I have several and none retain the key. Might be the 150.

mike plant good starter kit is the sparrows EOD or Dark Force. But to be honest if your just wanting to give it a go any cheap ebay/Amazon kit will work.

got a Yoopick set from amazon (yesterday) and gave it a go last night. tensioners not a good fit so made 4 more better fitting for the practice locks (padlock and euro cylinder) and did the padlock in 5.5 mins and cylinder in 7.not houdini by any means but will start on real locks as soon as I have time. thanks for the inspiration.

Another one of my favourite hobbies, I have to say that even though I would consider myself reasonably good at it having grown up around locks in the family, that my 11 year old decided to put me to shame.
With very limited knowledge I think the young hands are just a little more sensitive.
    Do you cube 'puzzles' as well? 3x3 4x4 5x5 6x6 7x7 8x8 9x9
If not then you need to get into it, just another way to challenge yourself to learning new and exciting things.

I sell Abus padlocks that I custom pin to be about a 10min pick for a professional. Most would call that unpickable.
