You can develop players a lot faster if you change the development plans instead of just doing balanced. Balanced usually takes a lot longer (it shows the number of weeks in green next to the type), but increase all the stats, but if you focus on one type they gain level a lot quicker
You should try this on football manager, a series would be a lot longer and the game is a lot more realistic showing your ball knowledge in a better way
