Cool. I have 199,623 miles on my 2006 Matrix 4WD. Just did a transfer case and rear diff service on it (every 30k). Still runs perfect. It is the lovechild of a Ferrari and a UPS truck...best car ever.
That's a great car for any young driver. If she doesn't crash it in the first 2 years, she'll probably have it for another 5. And I guarantee you that she will thank you.
Does the transmission hold up in the matrix and vibe awd? The transmission was a weak to begin with in these, probably the only weak thing to break. Does awd cause transmissions to go bad faster? And guessing its a different transmission than the fwd so harder find a junk yard replacement transmission if goes bad . Where the fwd basic transmissions are everywhere if something goes wrong needs be replaced.
That seems way high price. Here colorado I've seen 2008 matrix fwd (not awd) 89k miles for $4k . These cars are no longer made do it be hard find replacement body parts. The engine transmission are corolla so that's easy find parts. But the exterior and some interior parts are unique. So hard find parts if something breaks. And these cars are now 21 to 17 years old now. Still good buy cars, but not worth spending alot money on them

I got one for my daughter w 145k miles still runs great!! it's a 2003
The earlier generation (like yours) is better quality (especially the interior.) The 2009+ sucks on quality. Bad.

I don't recomend all-wheel drive with a small 4-cylinder engine. Just my opinion.
Petunia is So Awesome 🤩
I am looking at an '04 xr awd with 101,000 miles on it... for about $5,500.. maybe i can negotiate a little down... what do you think?
Everything is negotiable. Except for excellent low mileage Toyotas. I'd sell it for higher, actually.
Did you get it? If not you missed out on a great little car for a cheap price!
That seems way high price.
