Literally my first time out with it a few days ago prolly 5 cast in i caught an 8 pounder on it on some wood. Brought it over her head and it was game over
@@TheFishingCoach i am in central tx I caught that 8 on a little local lake called Lake Georgetown the lake is nicknamed the dead sea but i got ffs and figured out that was not true lol. The fish just stay offshore or in open water for the most part on bait out there almost like Spottys do.
I was just on the river fishing the mooch minnow. Still trying to figure out the shake and bake technique. What’s weight size jig head do you recommend for depths?
Man it can be so so technical. What river? I say for shallower depths. Less than 20 ft. 1/4 & 3/16 are two good sizes to start. Then 20-30 you can go 3/8 but those would still work depending on water clarity. Where I am currently fishing - Lake Ouachita. I am using a 1/2. But targeting bass 40-70 ft.
@TheFishingCoach it’s a river here in New Hampshire called the Merrimack River. Area I fish it gets up to 30’. I need to get the retrieve speed down to keep the bait down in the strike zone. I’m seeing that’s key. Thanks for responding back and helping me out. 🤙🏽🎣
Good stuff! Ouachita has been really good to me the last month. I have been on the east end. The bigger ones are showing up and you are going to have a good time 👍🏽
They won’t bite it with the appendages on table rock, but once you cut them off they will. Baby Z-too will always get bit so it’s hard to put it down.

Oh also they literally fuse to jig heads if u super glue. the tail will break before that bait slides down in my own experience
Sweet! I had a buddy today message me that he caught a good one with it first cast.
👍🏽👍🏽 where are you fishing?

FFs can teach us that! Good stuff my man. Keep at it! 🤙🏽
Does it react to soft plastics and make a gooey mess like Zman? That's my main draw back.
I can not answer that question yet

I bought some Mooch minnow on the black Friday sale. I'm going to Ouachita next Friday for 2 weeks on Tompkins Bend.
