Hellfire is the perfect villain song because it tackles Frodo's complex inner conflict perfectly. Frodo is rightous and religious and he KNOWS that he is in love with someone who doesn't love him back and he deems as "a sinner" and he knows that he wants to abuse his power to force a union between them. But he desperately wants to justify it in his prayer, desperately begging for a moral high ground but at the end he gives up. *He stops justifying it and instead he only begs for mercy.* Because he knows that at the end, she is not the monster. He is. It's rare to see animation villains not being static characters and actually having a conflict and a character arc that results in them becoming a villain.
This is a rare case where the villain reaches this kind of epiphany. In most songs of this sort, the villain centered on it has either revealed his/her machinations, or has achived a victory over the hero, usually standing at the apex of power once the song ends. But for Frollo, it's the opposite: He's at his weakest. Here, in his dark heart of hearts, he knows he's about to do something unspeakable. In begging for mercy for both Esmerelda and himself, he realizes his soul is forfeit- as the shadows and phantoms of priests rise, he knows he's doomed.... but convinces himself this will end with either with the gypsy as his, or with her burning to ash. As the last shot pulls away, it's like God has seen the course of what will be.. and forsakes Frollo to his undoing, the latter collapsing not unlike an inverted crucifix. Fallen, doomed, and unforgiven...
Heaven's Light and Hellfire are so incredibly awesome and one of the best parts of the movie. It's a perfect contrast contrast between Quasimodo's innocent and kind-hearted nature and Frollo's corrupted and wicked heart. I loved it so much every time when the song of Heaven's Light ended and the beautiful and peaceful atmosphere became dark and creepy when an old man starts to sing about lust, sin and genocide.
Spoilers (not so spoilers) though, he didn't actually die in the movie from that point, yet. He dies much later than that in the film. All that happened was that he got exhausted.
its so funny cause if he pulled a far cry 3 on us and died right there making a new villain appear he would have died singing a song about his problems and it would just be weird and funny (at least for me)

Wow....just wow. Hellfire is always something that sounds awesome on organ. Could I suggest In the Dark of the Night? Maybe during Halloween? Being a pianist I know it takes a lot to get things together for a cover. I can only imagine that organ is way more intricate. So all in you good time of course. :)

God actually did respond to Frollo's prayers to save him from Hell. When the guard tells him that Esmeralda has escaped, Frollo is given one last chance for salvation. All Frollo had to do was to let Esmeralda go and he would be granted entry into Heaven.

Wow....just wow. Hellfire is always something that sounds awesome on organ. Could I suggest In the Dark of the Night? Maybe during Halloween? Being a pianist I know it takes a lot to get things together for a cover. I can only imagine that organ is way more intricate. So all in you good time of course. :)

God actually did respond to Frollo's prayers to save him from Hell. When the guard tells him that Esmeralda has escaped, Frollo is given one last chance for salvation. All Frollo had to do was to let Esmeralda go and he would be granted entry into Heaven.
