Ian, it seems that there is something "SPOOKY" going on between you and the number "one thousand", because 1000/250 is eight, not ten, and 525 watts is one thousand times the actual power output of the unit (obviously, you meant "milliwatts").
@@ianfann, not a big deal. Incidentally, I recently purchased an FX-AUDIO volume controller. There are one or two reviews of it on UA-cam, but I feel there should be more, since it is such a useful little device. Of course, it would be FAR more useful if it could accept balanced inputs/output.
Nice review Ian! I am looking into getting this. I already have the Questyle M15, and am currently thinking about getting the R4. How does it sound compared to the M15? Thank you !
Nice review bro. Hiby dap is really good. Currently using R6 3. Personally I also prefer having a knob, so I sold my R6 pro 2 for R6 3, also more portable.
Just received mine in orange with the strap! Also have the M300 but the R4 sounds way better imho. And it feels more "proper audiophile" once you pass the funky design (which I like btw). Plus the bigger screen is great for my old mans eyes. 🔥
@@KM-er8qr depends if you have a faulty one. All get warm but some more than others apparently. Yes it's system wide. Yes you just have to do it in the app settings I use apple music and it works well.
There seems to be report of battery usage of around 6-7 hours and heating issues making it uncomfortable to hold. Would appreciate more people to verify this. Thank you 🙏
Im interested in this. 2 questions 1. Can it output to external dac via usb c? 2. Does it have airplay? If so, can it output to external dac while on airplay? Hope someone can answer. Thank you in advance
I tried to checkout the Hiby R4 from the link provided, but it does not seem to allow delivery to Singapore. How did you manage to get them to deliver to an SG address?
To be honest if you look at other options from hiby, this is the 2nd cheapest option but the performance of this player is equivalent to something that costs roughly twice as much money from any other company :)
@@elasmojonesgood to know to upload my 10k song collection 😂. I will probably use the card reader before hand. Or can the player handle a large file transfer?
Please keep your wonderful portable audio reviews coming, Mr. Fann!

Thank you for the review.
I just ordered the orange one. My first DAP since my last iPod about... 14 years ago? Also my first Android device in about the same amount of time.
Just got mine in orange. Also have the M300. R4 is way better.

Does it overheat? Does MSEB setting apply to streaming songs as well? Can one download songs from streaming apps into sd card?

Black with black strap looks great
Love that Sade album.
Great review!
Have to tested saving Apple Music files to the internal and/SD card storage for offline listening?
You can save apple music to local storage for offline listening
Sorry not “to” , “you” tested?
Thank you very much for your reply!!! I appreciate it!

Yep but it appears to be only in a few daps im sending mine back for warranty
Kindly provide time stamps from the next time Ian.
Many of us are just interested in one or two particular aspects of a product.
Is the Bluetooth of the Hiby R4 mp3 product very disconnected?
Is there a speaker function?
Im interested in this.

Nice, someone who also listens to Diana Krall!
Hi is it capable of run beyerdynamic dt1990 pro ?
Sending back mine, it gets too hot that u can feel it in ur pocket 😢
I’m going to use bluetooth headphone only, how long the battery will last? Is this r4 better than m3000?

They have in Lazada bro
@@johnrowellprado2823 But at a far higher price than if you were to buy from Hiby directly.
Would you recommend the hiby r4 over the hiby m300? This will be my first dap. Thanks in advance. I need an android system because i use Spotify.
Same! I'm trying to decide which one I want to buy
@@emilygonzales3118 I went with the m300. Seems like a lot of value at that price. I got the blue one. It will be here Saturday
@@emilygonzales3118 I went with the Hiby m300. I love it!! Great sound and good battery life. Very fun to play with!!
What is the name of that headphones and where did you get it from?
That project ace
Hiby music and FAudio made...
Is it overheating?
been using it for 2 weeks now, so far no overheating issues
@@ianfannthanks! I may get one soon.
This DAP plays Dolby Atmos music?
Nope
Can this hook up to Android auto?
Ooh I have the same question, but my gut says most likely it won't be.
Yes it can!
@rutgerveldhuijzen I hope so! Just ordered one last week! But I use AUX for higher sound quality normally. Can it upload google maps?
@@billaubin14 What do you mean with 'upload'?
@@rutgerveldhuijzen can you use google maps with the device? I mean 🤣
Can this be used like a dongle DAC/AMP?
According to other reviews I've seen, yes. I can verify once mine arrives in a week or so.
how about bit perfect
Yes!
who that is amazing, how you think that's cheap

Wonder if he likes knobs😂
know any players that can play the songs in 432hz and 528 hz?
Yes look up "432 Player" and "528 Player" apps that this DAP can run.
I like this DAP. One thing you can't do is transfer music files to the installed sd card
Are you sure? That is STRANGE!
Rubbish
What do you mean? Of course you can, that's the whole point of the device. It's just an android music player.
you have to enable file transfer in the settings...took me 20 minutes to figure it out, cause I don't use android
@@elasmojonesgood to know to upload my 10k song collection 😂. I will probably use the card reader before hand. Or can the player handle a large file transfer?
That thing looks hideous.
