💜Aw i know how you feel Bonnie!😢 it's like we put SO much effort i to raising our kids the best way possible and then they go to school and it feels like some kids just undo all of that by saying/doing horrible things. But you have amazing children and you taught them well, they came and told you which was the right thing to do👍💜😙

My dad taught me to be the bigger person... unless they threw the first hit.... then it was anybody’s guess on how the fight would end ahaha
I was taught self defence and how to fight dirty if need be and it’s worked in my favour more often than not

It's so scary sometimes sending my kids to school not knowing who they are being influenced by. My prayer every day is that they can remember what we teach them at home and that they keep in mind to ignore negative thoughts and actions. I know your family is full of nothing but positivity. My prayer is that their light shines so bright that they are able to spread that light to other children.

JudiMD there was another video when Olivia was talking about how kids were making fun of them for being on UA-cam - she fell off her bike and they were laughing at her. It was in a recent vlog and Bonnie was telling them to be proud of themselves.

    • @jasminsworld8585

    • @heatherd.9390
      @heatherd.9390 7 років тому +2

Huh? That is not at all what was said in this video at all. I would hesitate to imply that this is what happened in this vlog. They dealt with the bullying issue back when it happened. I didn't get the impression that what happened today was even a matter of them being bullied. Bullying was not even mentioned until Joel spoke about there not being any need for it or retaliation for telling someone to stop being inappropriate. IMO, this was a matter of either Olivia or Cody hearing/seeing something beyond their years and inappropriate.

    • @ICaughtTheSnitch26

Ya sending kids to school now if very hard. I never punched because that shows your as bad as the other person am in 6th grade and I relied that I was bullyed by my partner verbily he called me names and never let me have a voice I told my teacher I want to move she said it’s fine so hopefully it gets better . Also on a weird note I already know the birds and the bees because of very bad jokes inappropriate comments and so it’s been hard specially 5 th grade because there were so many situations that the teacher should never have to go through.

I used to get very badly bullied and I became mentally ill for I while with anxiety and I didn't go to school for about a month and a half because of this problem, just before this happened I was physically ill and it was a very bad illness and included me having an operation so I was off for a couple months with that and that followed the bullying so I was off school for a good 3-4 months between them both but I got better and I have now learned to stand my ground and defend myself from this but I'm not mean about it I just tell them to leave me alone or tell them otherwise.

As the parent of two grown children, I am so proud to say that what you teach them in the home is what they will grow and blossom into as adults. They may struggle at times, but the direction and redirection (especially in middle and high school years when you sometime think they have turned into aliens from another planet, lol) you provide will shape them into amazing adults that you will one day say to yourself " I never in my wildest dreams, imagined my kids would have turned out to be such incredible, loving, empathetic and human beings".

Learning how to defend yourself definitely starts in the home. Children need to know that it’s ok. Allowing children to stand up for themselves against you as a parent is a good start. Children need to know they have a voice and their feelings/opinions matter. My daughter is amazing at it. She will say in a stern voice to anyone that crosses her to “STOP IT!”. I’m quite impressed by her skills. I’m still learning as an adult how to defend myself/speak my mind. It shouldn’t be so hard.

I’m kind of mad that Joel used the term “girl push up” to describe Boston’s push-ups on his knees. You are saying that your kids hear these awful things at school and yet their own parents are implying that girls are weaker than boys which isn’t a really good thing to be putting into your kids heads either. I’m not trying to cause problems I just don’t want Olivia to grow up thinking her brothers are better and stronger than her because they are not. She is just as good and strong as them. I’m not saying that either of you think that she’s not I just want to make sure that you know you could be putting these messages in their heads without even realizing it. Thanks for listening and I hope you understand where I’m coming from!

M's Wild Ride That is one option if the bullying seriously gets out of hand. The other side to it is the kids learning how to deal with it. Plus, I strongly feel that schools need to stop punishing the one who is bullied!!
Here is my plea for this family and anyone who has children:
I got bullied so bad in school, including verbally, physically, and emotionally and death threats, back in the 70s; and NOBODY would help me! I was expected to "take it" and if I was to ever defend myself, verbally or physically, I was the one who would be seriously punished by the school and at home. I continued to be an easy target well into my adulthood because I never learned how to effectively deal with it. While I was in school, I remember being terrified because I believed those death threats. As an adult, I have been equally terrified of bosses, coworkers, landlords/slumlords, for fear of losing jobs or being evicted because some people really enjoy their "power and authority" over those who are easier to victimize.
I am pleading with you to teach your children how to handle these things in effective ways so that they don't live a lifetime of fear and intimidation. I'm not trying to be overly dramatic here. I don't want your children to go through this not knowing how to navigate it. Back then for me, I now know that those threats were empty. But here in the 21st century, kids are killing kids and kids are killing themselves due to bullying because they don't see another way out.
I am in my mid-50s now and I am just now learning how to deal with it better. Please don't let your kids go through this. Bullies are out there, both kids and adults. Please teach your kids and work with the schools in behalf of your kids. Nobody advocated for me. The negotiations were not in my favor and those kids and adults involved all those years ago, got away with it.

It's so hard when we can't be there 24/7 with our children to be able to shelter and protect them from all of the bad and ugly in the world. All we can do is teach and give them the tools that they need to become good, honest, loving, kind and caring people. How to make good and responsible choices when we're not there and to always follow their heart and not follow others and to always do what's right. You're a great mama and you and Joel are raising wonderful and thoughtful children.

The EXACT reason why my mom homeschooled all seven of us.People, don't take this the wrong way but,we were STILL exposed to those kids and I think that because we weren't subjected to it M-F,we knew how to handle those things..when they happened.Bonnie and Joel have great kids and I know with giving the tool they need..they will do just fine.I get it though..it's hard to let your little kids hear or see those things from other kids.Who might not know any better.

I`ve *never* commented on videos on youtube so far, but now I really want to point out what an extraordinary, loving and perfect reaction this was from you, Bonnie! I was bullied at school for 6 years (at an age from 7-13) and it destroyed me mentally so that i was diagnosed for severe chronical depression at an age of 25. I am 28 now and just coming out of a severe episode of depression I can say it's torture and most children which are targets don't dare to tell anyone, not even their parents. I wasn't able to and this is one of many reasons why I was a target for so many years. It fills my heart with a profound warmth to see you reacting so emotional, please don't you ever stop to react to a little Olivia, Cody, Boston or Lincoln coming home with tears in their eyes telling they've been bullied at school. Even if you might have the impression of overreacting, it saves the future and many scars of your child...
thanks for being such amazing parents

My husband tells our 3 year old twins not to hit but if someone hits you hit them back!!! My son is so sweet though he just plays and build stuff and his teacher says the other little boys will come over and knock all his stuff down but our little girl is the tough one
