I meet chuck at the factory and i was dj there in 1987 to 1993 my dj name Slick Master Rick aka Houz'Mon and yes the factory had a recording studio and the owner was Big Tom. The dj was Greg The Master, Quick Mix Claude, Jammin Gerald and myself there were many guess dj too. Chuck was a good man and kind person a good friend we last talk on the phone early this year he call me we discuss about his new music project. Rest In Heaven my friend 🙏
Let me just say this real quick. Chosen Few Picnic. I was just chilling with my peeps having a conversation in between deejay sets and I knew that Terry Hunter was due up next, so this would be dope as always. I heard "in the beginning there was Jack...", so I'm like alright. But then the crown got a bit more hyped that I expected, then I realized why. What I heard was not the record - it was THE MAN...LIVE AND IN-PERSON ON-STAGE! NOBODY HAD A CLUE ABOUT HIM PERFOMING LIVE! And that....was FRESH!
As a white boy in Europe, I was first exposed to "techno" in the early 90s, which of course sounded much "whiter" than the American house from the late 80s. I only discovered and appreciated the black roots much, much later. It is wonderful to see this interview with "the voice of house"! I danced my ass off on at least a dozen different tracks using parts of the acapella on countless raves.
For example: this Rotterdam gabber track ua-cam.com/video/4j9nCB4vNB8/v-deo.html - funny since the sound is obviously very far away from Chicago house. At that time in the Netherlands any kind of electronic dance music was called "house music".
The Factory. 😂 I remembered going there. That was my first House party as a Southerner from Arkansas first being exposed to House Music back in 1986. Mostly kids and teenagers back then from what I remember.
Amazing video. A legend right there. Thank you. It needs more views… spread the word.
Rest well brother Chuck Roberts, MO we appreciate you with getting this interview. Cheers

Too right. "He goin be a preacher." Preaching the positive message of house music to the world.
Rest in peace Chuck Roberts. Wish we could have finished our motion picture, but everything happens for a reason.

You missed it. The heart and soul of it was in Chicago in the 80s. It was about how the music was played. You had to be there to actually feel it.
Love It
