I made this video a few years ago. Delighted to see it's still doing the rounds. And even more pleasing to see my old Grandfathers photograph amongst the others.
@@clarksimmons9165well it's a townland outside Ballymena so the person who wrote it is not wrong, don't be a Karen over whether something is a village or not. Are you one of the interesting people that go around UA-cam comments sections fact checking mundane errors?
How many soldiers such a small part of Ulster were produced here. Ballymena the depot of the Royal Irish. Kells outside Ballymena mentioned in the song I had no idea there was a barracks there, Belfast and it's many battalions. Then all the other areas of Ulster like Armagh and Enniskillen that had their own regional battalion's. Ulster really was 'loyal Ulster' even before partition and the creation of the State of Northern Ireland in the early 20s
@@ronmcd9719 Ron! Hey man! I just tried to find you on Facebook, but it looks like you (wisely) have gone off it maybe? I keep thinking about doing the same. I did for a couple days, then went back on because there are some people I only contact through there. It very rarely puts me in a good mood, its just good for letting people know about shows and all. Anyhow, I was going to message you, because I want to get a 10 Pound note with the Bushmills Distillery on it. If you happen to get this, email me, jeremysteding@gmail.com and I'll PayPal you whatever the exchange rate is plus a couple bucks for shipping. Hope all is well man. Merry Christmas (never too early in my book) to you and yours! Email me if you get this!
cavan monaghan doegal were predomently catholic so to keep Ulster British they gave these 3 counties to the south so the 6 counties were more protestant
Spot on m8. To give Ulster the protestant majority. Unfortunately it's looking like that won't be the case shortly. It's either get treated like dirt or go back to war imho. Hopefully there's enough of us still with the fire in our bellies
Can the author of the video please contact me regarding one of the photos used, I'm trying to locate a certain picture & u may have found it for me! Thanks 😊
