A friend of mine recently visited Turkey and saw what is believed to be the remnants of home of St. John where he took Mary as his Mother after the ascension in Ephesus. How awesome!
Hello sir, here is one for all you historians and scholars. The disciple whom Jesus loved was not John. Take Heed to how you hear! He whom has more will be given. The only ones mentioned in the text that Jesus loved was Martha, Mary and "Lazarus". The disciple whom Jesus loved! Lazarus whom was reclining next to Jesus at the supper they had at Martha's house in Bethany for Jesus honor before entering Jerusalem for the passover feast he did not attend as he was the passover sacrifice. Hope to see you at his banquet, behold the bridegroom cometh be ready be watching be waiting it will be good for that servant who's Master finds them watching when he comes like a thief in the night at the last trump. Good point. I took those scriptures to mean that Jesus loved them but it doesn't say that Jesus only loved those three though. Also Lazarus was not biblically one of the 12 disciples. A follower of Jesus, yes, if that's what you are referring to as disciple. I would think that if it was Lazareth, then John would have mentioned Lazarus name? Since John wrote the Book of John I can see why he would not want to write his own name. But I don't know, that's just how I took it. Definitely has been a question among many scholars for sure.
if the beloved is John, why decipels doesn't seems to know him well? They even ask, "what about him?" Like he wouldn't belong to gang or be unknown or so ?
