Hey, Dewie here, if you want more skiing guides and trail POVs, they’ll be posted on Colorado Plankers. There’s more secrets to share and I’ll figure better ways of getting that info to Colorado Planker subscribers… as I’ve learned a lot since making this video. Currently, nothing is posted, but I’ll publish a bunch of 4K POVs once the season starts. If this skiing channel finds an audience, I’ll start making detailed skiing guides, instructional videos, and some surprises. I don’t have a lot of free time, but love making videos for others so I’ll put the time in if people want them. First resorts to be covered are Keystone, Breck, and Vail. This channel will be a collab with locals, ski resort employees, and we’ll eventually visit my buddies who have moved to other mountains. Colorado Mallcrawlers will continue to have off-road, overland, and summer Colorado content.
I finally made it to Keystone for the first time last season--it's pretty cool. And there are several hidden runs that always have good snow. I think I may have found the bottom half of this one--that part was very familiar. I highly recommend a secret run that you get from a veeeerrryy long traverse beneath a gondola (I share your desire to provide hints). It's not as long as the one in this video, but steeper. It's a really sweet mountain that hides jewels like this. Thanks for the vid.
Awesome! In my intermediate guide, I cover part of that traverse since that area is labeled on the maps. Tiger Run will always be my favorite secret run, but as you said, it’s just one of the secrets there and the other ones are pretty awesome too! Thanks for watching!
I was a lift operator at Keystone and there was back then '98-'99 . Some of the runs through the trees look just like Tiger Run. I love skiing trees, everything but the low hangers
Yeah, when I started UA-cam, wasn’t sure what I was doing here. I didn’t want to give all the secrets away, but figured tiger run was well enough known that it’d be ok. I’m going to do a skiing channel (Colorado Plankers), but I have some different and I think better ideas for that than these early vids.
Note, it’s only good if Keystone has a lot of snow so as of Dec 12th 2020, not good. Also, I filmed this last year after Keystone had received a lot of snow over a few days and there was still a lot of exposure. You will hit rocks most likely even with good snow. Also, most of the time we ski this blazing fast so please don’t stop or be way off to the side if you do. Have fun if you find it!
I lived and rode up here for a very long time. If you want to know about all the hidden runs at keystone I don’t mind sharing the locations. Tiger is cool but there are sooo many better ones
Thanks man! I know them too! I’ll probably make a separate channel under my name with content like this, but right now my focus is on providing the best off-road content I can. We’ll see tho, having time is the issue.
Hey man! I moved out to Westminster back in April and have been frequenting Keystone this season. If you wouldn’t mind sending some of those locations that’d be much appreciated, thanks!
@@matthewsalvador8455 hey brother do you have an email? Or some way to contact you? I can for sure spread the love but I’m not down to pull the ultimate no no and post them publicly lol
It's Tiger's Tail, a sight line cut for a lift that was never installed. Do NOT cut any ropes to get there and always ski with a partner. Leashes are a good idea (roommate lost a ski and didn't find it until late April).
Heard that about Pac 1, but not this one. That’s cool if true, but we all call it Tiger Run on the ski school side and when we ride it with patrol, they do the same. The old maps are insightful and you don’t cut any ropes to ski it. I’ve skied it probably 500x, it’s peaceful to ski solo... but I was once a full time ski bum.
@@coloradomallcrawlers yup. The warnings were for the gapers, not you. You seem to know your business. Nice to see the stash is safe. The name must have been shortened over the decades. Glad they kept the Gulch name when they opened that terrain. That was fun OB skiing without cutting ropes too. Merry Christmas.
after doing the research and looking back to an old map of keystone, checking out the bike park map, and one trial and error run, i found this run and i wouldnt go there until they get more snow is all i will say haha
This is a beautiful run, though I think it is not for beginner/intermediate skier? Thanks for the video anyway. I’m finally make the plan to go to keystone this winter, can’t wait!
I definitely didn’t say it was. This is for those that think Keystone is too easy... we have many more runs like this, but don’t advertise them as Keystone likes to sell itself as a family resort. Thanks for watching!
Yep, it’s a secret run... but I have provided everything you need to find it. I can’t just give it or I’ll have no one to ski with, but I made it easy.
burg_ I’ve been threatened by my ski pals so I can’t make it obvious especially because it’s dangerous if you don’t know. However, it’s off of a trail that I have a top to bottom on and I didn’t make many ski videos 😉
It’s on the Right side and you’ll see the tracks when you ski it at the top. It’s definitely riskier than the video shows since GoPros blunt steepness and tightness. Also only go into it if snow coverage is extremely good. We wait till January most years. Have fun!
I was planning (or rather, daydreaming) a ski trip next year when life would be back to normal, when I saw this video. It is an interesting puzzle to solve where the run is. I did not try to find any old trial map or bike map, but from some of the other clues, after some Google Map surfing, I am pretty sure this (drive.google.com/file/d/10Un5bIbO2_UUGnlbjEkdXWYax_slG4WO/view?usp=sharing) is the last shot of your video. Hope next season I would indeed be able to make the trip and ski this run.
I didn’t make it too hard, but had I just said how to find it, my friends would have been mad and the reward would have diminished slightly. Still, those trail maps are available online 😉. Good luck!
Hey Dewie, Found you on Chris and Scott's Adventures. You should join them and me on Colorado UA-camrs group on FB. The link is on my channel's About. We would love to have you.
I’m sorry man, I’ll be creating more content like this on Colorado Plankers, but to get the skiing community to help me make great ski videos… I can’t make the secret runs easy and will delete any comments that specifically say where it is. I hate doing that, but I think once you find it, you’ll appreciate it being kept a secret. However, this will help you, if I didn’t say it in the video… definitely ask a keystone employee when you’re there as they’ll likely give you the answer. I just can’t in a public video like this, but I can show you stuff so you can decide if it’s worth it to find. Good luck!
I feel your pain also struggle mightily with things such as scavenger hunts so I thought I might help you out a bit. What I’ll say is the front…. I mean favorite lol 😂 side of Keystone has some of my favorite trees anywhere in Colorado. Including maybe my favorite blue run of all time Spring Dipper. This beauty is more opposite and you could say you have a famous 3.5 miles to find it although you’ll certainly want to be on the front side of that number if your gunna find it. Best I can do speaking in code hope this helps!

This season I've been skiing this run all the time and I love it. Now I know what its called and this is the run that got me into tree skiing.
That’s awesome! I’m glad you found it!
Moving to Keystone in November, so excited to find this run. Cheers brother!
Cameron Polanco you’ll love it! Loved living in Keystone!
Guess I’ll be going treasure hunting this weekend. Nice video!

Yes they do! Thanks for checking it out... my friends are still mad I made this video 😂
hey I actually found this one just earlier today! Missed the sign though...

When I was a kid my family used to go snowmobiling up here. I need to go back.
Now is the best time to get away from the mess in Denver! A little social distancing might do us all some good!
3 years ago, we cut in & came upon a ski patrol, we knew to follow him 😈 - it was EPIC!

Nice!
has anyone found it yet? I can't figure out where it is and I'm going to keystone soon.
I just rewatched it. There’s solid clues there and I definitely gave a cheat clue (ask an employee).

dope vid, hit my recommended feed. next time go with no music so we can hear the snow and all
Sounds good, I’m starting a Ski Channel called Colorado Plankers. I’ll take these notes in consideration.
I just rewatched this… good call! Way too loud music. UA-cam was new to me when I made this. I’ll do better on the new channel.
