It's not just John Hughes or a script. If he made it in 2024, it would never have the same legacy as the ones did in the 90s. It's more to do with the time stamp of that era. The way how life was. How people were. A life before 9/11 and internet. THAT in combination with a great script, very likeable faces and the theme of Christmas (for all ages to enjoy). One of those things, like visiting theme parks, you grow up on, which you carry along for LIFE. If you see an interview with Daniel or McCauley these days, you immediately feel home. They have THAT kind of an impact. Love it!
