Even if Newhaven is small, it looks so charming and inviting. It's truly a delight the places you take us. Thank you for making and sharing these videos, even if they're shorter.
I will go down there most summers. There is another great wee cafe at the end of Newhaven Mains Street "Porto & Fi Deli Bistro". Usually grab something to eat and drink from there, and sit at the seats at the edge of the Harbour. Just got to dodge the Gulls. Never even knew about the one that you went too.
Lived in ‘old Newhaven’ early 1960’s. Amazing the life imprint made by a postage stamp sized area. My borders were from Starbank Park to Annfield and from Victoria Park to the top of the ‘bus hill’ (Craighall Road and Stanley Road). Amazing, amazing place and people. Culture of never being too poor to laugh.
That’s auld Sandy’s police box I was born at number 11 how it’s changed went to Vickie’s school caught my first fish on the steps seventy two years ago and that poodlie gets bigger each year I was so proud of it I kept it on the line to show my ma and she said we will have fish and chips with it there were three of us and we all had fish and chips she bought the fish and chips from gissetteries. Chip shop and fed us and our cat had a big smile on its face as well she did not tell me till years later but I kinda had a clue 😂
