I was at this concert - they were just amazing and I left that evening as an instant fan!
I saw this with Jethro Tull! Amazing concert ! The sound is AWESOME, best live recording of Rendezvous 602 ever! ! Thank you for posting this!!!!!
U R WELCOME FUSION TRAVELER THRU THIS UNIVERSE OF BLAND ROCK N ROLL.
I never knew Missing Persons and Yes were connected! The drummers of UK.
ONE OF THE VERY BEST BANDS EVER, 3 virtuosi but songs written by geniuses.
Can't agree more. By far my favourite band.
@henrikryegard5043 👍👍
Love that 9/4 section on Rendezvous. I bought my Yamaha CS-80 in 1980 after seeing this tour . We covered most of these songs but could hardly make a go of it without making $. Specialized audience for sure. Carrying a B3, CP-70, CS-80, Mini Moog, D6-Clavinet, Rhodes… to limited audiences? The smaller markets wanted pop so goes the industry.
I own a virtual CS-80 plugin by Memory Moon er sumthin’ like that and it does a great job. As far as pop goes - it has destroyed many a great band’s hopes to “make it”.
I listened to UK recordings many years ago - now, after many years, it tastes even more ...
even more better?
@@JazzRockFusionSynthesizerMusic memories come back and taste like old wine ...
@@JazzRockFusionSynthesizerMusic thanks from Barlinek ...ua-cam.com/users/MTVBarlinek
Fantastic
Indeed!!😊👍🎼🎸
Awesome treat hearing the original live version of 'Waiting For You' being played by the 3 piece lineup especially as it was never officially recorded making this track a hidden gem in the UK catalogue.
INDEED! I LOVE U.K. BECAUSE IT WAS THROUGH THEM I FIRST REALLY HEARD ALLAN HOLDSWORTH IN ALL HIS GUITAR GLORY. THE 3 PIECE WERE SOLID AS WELL. I USED TO HAVE "NOTHING TO LOSE" PAINTED ON MY CHEVY VAN BUMPER IN HONOR OF THAT U.K. SONG.
Saw this trio in Barry- Wales blew my mind
Now check out Group 87 and Bozzio's Zappa work.
@dhalgrentv7157 Don't forget Missing Persons with Bozzio's sister on vox. Highly underrated band.
@@JazzRockFusionSynthesizerMusic Indeed, great band comprising many ex-Zappa members. To be clear, Dale was Terry's wife (now his ex), not sister!
@@dhalgrentv7157 Oops 😬 I doubt he married his sister! 😆
Thanks for This! Getting really Sad in my eyes for genious John! RIP!❤
Lo empece a escuchar a los 16 años y ahora a mis ls disfruto como un joven, gran gupo UK
You said “I started listening to it when I was 16 and now I enjoy it as a young man, great group UK”. And I agree. I was 2 years out of college working my first real job when I discovered U.K. with Holdsworth, Bruford, Jobson and Wetton. Amazing music! Even though I heard Holdsworth with Jean Luc Ponty, his guitar styling was only curious to me. But hearing him with U.K. and then Bruford made me stand up and take notice.
🤔 Might be the show I was at.
Wow , great sound, and great players.
God Speed , John.
And to you...
Terry es el #1. Lo bueno de uk.
BOZZIO IS INDEED A HUGE ASSET.
Thank you for sharing this rare piece of one of my absolute favourite bands. I have never seen or heard it before. Their crazy tunes and off beats are so amazing. Still listening to them even though I have passed 65
You're so welcome. I am in your 65+ realm and still buying bootleg UK from Japan, still playing synths and guitar 🎸. I am yet to crank up my new electric 🎻 violin. LOL. www.SourceCodeX.com
This is awesome thanks for your work! It's so cool Nostalgia is on here
U R WELCOME. 👍
Команда молодости нашей............................................................
English translation anyone?? Our youth team?? Better translation perhaps?
Wow! Great Job !!! Thank you for this.
U R SO WELCOME.😎 👍🎼🎸
Hey, I'm the guy that bought the UK cassette from you a couple days ago. Found your channel :)
Welcome!
Great restoration, kudos to you!
You're so welcome. 👍
Absolutely genius! Both show AND remastering!
Thanks. 😎👍🎼🎸

15:15 ?
24:27 Waiting For You
"The Only Thing She Needs"
Loved the second incarnation a little bit more what a great band
Without the genius of Holdsworth and Bruford -- U.K. just was clearly less magical. IMHO.
Ha, clapping in 5/4
If Im not mistaken that melody from track 1 is from the ZINC album ......
5th track from Zinc!!😊👍👍
I'm guessing they were still opening for Tull at this show?
No clue...
Is there a recording of the full show? The recording quality is great, I'd love to listen to the whole In the Dead of Night suit.
I'll check my many terabytes of fusion/prog shows . . . Sorry but THIS IS THE WHOLE SHOW! I doubt you will ever find the "whole" show anywhere.

Is Wetton playing a double bass at Rendezvous 6:02, especially in the middlesection?
NO CLUE REALLY BUT THE MYRIAD OF FX PEDALS OUT THERE COULD BE GIVING YOU THAT IMPRESSION.
@@JazzRockFusionSynthesizerMusic anyway a fantastic piece of music!
he mostly used a 4 string at this time . Later on he used a 5 string
How did they cover Holdsworth parts?
In later years Akex Machacek did guitar parts. But at this time there was no guitarist! U.K. was reduced to a power trio after both Holdsworth & Bruford had left with Bozzio being a new member of the band. Jobson might have been able to use the violin or synthesizer to "ape" Holdsworth but he never did such. It would have been impossible. With a different tale to be told -- when I saw The Steve Morse Band live, Morse was able to emulate keyboard lines as well as violin parts on his guitar when his new band played old Dregs songs. Now that was amazing to see and hear.
@@JazzRockFusionSynthesizerMusic I just watched a Q&A session from one of UK's reunion shows from one of the CTTE cruises. John and Eddie said that it was "understood" that Bruford and Holdsworth would leave the band after the first album so that they could pursue more of a jazz fusion career path where Eddie and John wanted to return to their Prog Rock roots. Eddie asked Terry Bozzio to join UK from their shared history in Frank Zappa's band. On the guitar front, they asked a young unheard of Eric Johnson if he would be interested in the gig which he declined. I think they were also thinking about asking Gary Moore as well but alas the guitar role was never filled and the rest is history.
@escommentss Cool backstory. Thanks. I was so bummed when Holdsworth and Bruford left. But then we got the Bruford powerhouse group. I have many U.K. bootlegs, and it is quite interesting to hear Holdsworth playing on Danger Money songs like "Carrying No Cross."
@@JazzRockFusionSynthesizerMusicYes and I think there are some recordings of him playing on "The Only Thing She Needs" Probably my favorite UK song ever. I actually first heard the song performed by a band in the New York area in the late '70s called Rat Race Choir. I also though it was an original of theirs as I had never heard the song before or of UK. Anyway, they had a guitar player playing on the song. I just thought that was the way it went until I finally heard the original off of the "Danger Money" album when I noticed there was no guitar!
