Here's my take on the Crows. I was a big fan early on. I saw them live a handful of times. I got to "get spoken to" by Adam after a show where he commented on my t-shirt. Strangely enough, his Facebook personal account recently liked a comment I made on the Crows page from 2019!
August and Everything After is a masterpiece. Happened to put it on just yesterday. That's where I'm starting. It took me a long time (maybe a December-length of time) to grow into Recovering the Satellites. Although I loved Angel of the Silences, the record on the whole felt disjointed compared to their debut. Adam's lyrics were still interesting, but thematically didn't touch me like AaEA. LIke I said, I've since adopted that Satellites is pretty grand in its own right. I'm still a ways from lumping Desert Life and Hard Candy in with those two albums as something continued to stray from their initial magic (as happens with a lot of bands).
