Great PSA on why you shouldn't trust your face to a shavette! Great comment about straights being a "gateway" to shavettes - and not the other way around. The only true advantage of the shavette is that you don't have to learn how to maintain it like you do with a straight. As a parting note, I totally agree with the opinion on the Mennen's splash. Love that stuff. Overall a fine video. Well done!
Hey Bruce! Merry Christmas to you & family! Thks for watching! Shavettes are definitely a learning curve. I'm more comfortable with them but still need much more practice. And yeah, I love Skin Bracer! I didn't realize until I was editing this vid that it contains menthol but I wasn't surprised. Love that tingling sensation!
@@KalShaves I’ve been in several Walmart’s and the layout of the stores are the same but some carry different products. My Walmart is 6 miles from me but one that’s 30 miles has different products. Not sure why.
It may be from Walmart, but it did the job. Skin Bracer saved the day. This kit might be ideal for a short business type trip, where you don't want to risk taking along your high end and expensive gear.
Hey Warren! Thks for watching! Happy holidays to you and your family! It was a fun little video to do. The WS soap was disappointing but not surprising. The Skin Bracer is awesome!
Great video! I still cut myself sll the time so that made me feel better heh. 😆 I use everything but a shavette; I'm nervous to give it a try for that reason. Thank you for the shoutout!
Hey Cape Cod Wet Shaver! Merry Christmas! What's a little blood. Lol. It takes lots of practice. And a big styptic pencil. Lol. Just concentrate on a very shallow angle on the cost y areas. There's many wet tubers who love them and have great videos on how to use them.
I haven't used any of my shavettes in a while. I always cut myself and I felt like I got a lot of drag from the blade itself. I still have them, I'll maybe give it another go at some point. Good seeing you, take care!
Good day sir! Tks for watching! Merry Christmas to you! It's only recently that I've gotten an comfort level with shavettes. I've learned a lot for Justin McIntyre, the Red Island Shaver, and Carl Kiefer. They've been hugely helpful in teaching me technique!
Wilkinson sword is a good beginner double edge safety razor and they also make a ok brush. the king c Gillette safety razor is also a good one for beginner's even if its more expensive. for beginner soap i would use proraso, its only 10$ and a tub will last you the year.
Hey! Thanks for watching! I definitely like the new King C Gillette razors more! And I agree with you about Proraso. Readily available, cheap, and works well.
A nice shave, shavettes are my jam now, use them for a majority of my shaves, like anything else, gotta put the reps in with them though, and I’m really picky with what soaps I use with them… mass produced soaps like this one for me are a no go.. I want something super slick, and not drying or “sticky” so I break out the big guns with the shavettes. Have a great week!
@@KalShaves Merry Christmas to you and yours as well! Yeah, WS is pretty meh, grab one of your good soaps and take that shavette for a spin and I’m sure you’ll have a much better shave.
I'm thinking of buying another shavette & putting a PAA Strangelet blade in it. Any suggestions? I have most of the Parker shavettes, the Equinox, the Focus Slim, a Sally Beauty that looks like a Feather SS.
@@KalShaves you already have the Focus Slim which is like the best dedicated half DE shavette on the market, no need to buy another shavette, put a strangelet in it and go to work!
I re-watched the video after using and cutting myself with my Wilkinson sword shavette and i noticed at lest with mine that the two parts that hold the razor move slightly, moving the blade out of place. Im thinking this could be why im getting cut because my Parker never cuts me.
Hey Nico! Welcome to my channel! I hope you'll enjoy it! I think it's awesome that someone so far away watches my videos!!! I used the Semogue 830 boar hair brush in this video. I got it from Amazon. I checked the German Amazon website and I don't see a listing for the 830. I did however see a listing for the Semogue 620. Without doing some research I'm not sure what the difference is. I'll put the link below. The Semogue 830 Boar hair brush takes a bit of work to break in but once it's broken in, it's an awesome brush! I love the smell of the black Wilkinson puck soap.
Whit any shavette the angle and stretching is also important, did a great job
Thks for watching! Shavettes are a trial in patience and technique. You very quickly, and painfully, learn not to be cocky with one.
It’s amazing how Walmart is the same but different. Fun video!
Hey Matthew! Thanks for watching! How do you mean about US vs Cda Walmarts?

I can totally understand that. There's a few that I often go to in different cities and I have to remember which one I'm in and where everything is.

Merry Ho Ho, Caesar. More blood for your viewing pleasure. Lol. I like the WK shavette but hate their soap.
