I have yet seen anybody do this cxa 1800.1
What's the efficiency on this at 2ohms
I just bought this amp and having it running 2 kicker solo baric L7 12s.... I think my speakers could use more power but I can tell that with this amp the quality of the bass sound is better than the amp I did have which was a audiopipe mi1500 which was actually louder than the kicker amp... Any help would be awesome 😎 thanks
I day wait until Kicker cones out with it Solo X Amps. Supposed to have greater power and actively compete with the big boys.
It may be louder but you can't beat kickers quality of Base it sounds so much better than others with the high end parts Alpine also
Isn’t this amp suppose to be hitting 2400w max? Like rms of 12 but a peak of 2400? To clip out at that ? I was thinking abt getting it and putting a L7 15 with abt 1000rms to it
I recently got a kicker cxa 1200.1 amp what fuse do I run by the battery a 100ANL or higher thanks in advance
The amp needs a 150A Fuse and 4 awg ofc. For the fuse, get one from KnuKonceptz. You need a fuse holder that is water resistant. A mini ANL fuse holder also works well. If you have another battery, it is also better to fuse it there with the same 150A rating as well. If you need an amp kit, go to Skar....there you'll find a kit for under $100 bucks. Or go to Legion Audio, they have amp kits for $45 dollars (ofc) unless they ran out.
Is there amp dyno showing its rated power at 4 ohms? I’m looking to run my amp 1200.1 at 4ohms on my one 8” Q Class rated at 500RMS. So with the sub rated at 500RMS I figured it would be great together. To my understanding is that running my amp at 4 ohms instead of 2 ohms would be a better SQ. Plus being capped off at 600rms would stop me from over powering the sun by accident. I would use my multi meter to set my gains.
Ohm and SQ aren’t related. But that sub would probably be okay with that amp, as long as you go easy on it. Consistently receiving more than rated RMS power will kill it eventually but if you aren’t bass racing on every commute you should be fine.
I have this amp and for the money I wish I wouldn't have bought it. These guys seem embraced about these dyno runs and they should be. They say they don't even know what it's going to do when it comes with a birth sheet I mean come on guys give us a break even Big D seems embarrassed for you exclamation point
Did you even listen to what they said? 1200.1 is rated at 1200 watts not once do they sound embarrassed about the numbers. It’s rated at what they claim it to be. I have mine hooked to 4ga power wire and an ultra cap and it doesn’t skip a beat…
How does the cx800 hit it out of the park but the 1200 is struggling
@@25hztolife14 it seems to me the 1200 isn't worth the extra money go with the 800
Woulda been nice to see the birth sheet on that amp to compare it with the test results
thats exactly my question the old model did way better im keeping my prime1200.1.
does the subsonic filter suck on this amp? you cant change it correct its stuck at 25hz>
Yes it does suck. The filtering control, the bass boost and the filtering components on the amp are not great. A terrible decision by Kicker / Stillwater.
Whomp whomp the next CXA replacement needs an option to defeat the subsonic filter…
so not quite meeting its advertised spec.
Look at where they have the gain set. That can’t be right. It’s set at 9:00 o’clock that barely a quarter of the way.
@bigD is that gain set right?
Oh yeah i have this amp on my car and my gain is around there as well and its loud asf.
The gain isn't a volume knob You set it to the amount of signal input You're getting in
Their head unit or input voltage must be 6 or 4v and the gain must be set to that.
I have this amplifier with 2 Kicker CompR 12’s 500 watts each. It’s amazing.
What ohms do you have you subs wired at ? I have my subs wired at 2ohms each an they cut off.
@@macielandsonsEven though this amplifier says it's one ohm stable it doesn't lay it unless you have very strong electrical it will shut off
@@d77543020I have mine all wired at 1ohm and I have no problems. 4 gauge xs starter battery and an ultra cap. Goes hard with no cut off
