I love David Bazan's music. I've seen Pedro the Lion a number of times, and I really love all of his stuff, so this isn't a dig. But man...dude writes some dark songs.
Dave's a genius, writes all the parts, probably best on the drums, such complicated parts and odd time sigs. Listen to his early work and focus on the drumming. sheesh!
@iLEE dude. tell me about it. man, i would give anything to be able to keep such perfect time and have such epicly tuned drums. so much of my pondering goes into the snares in his projects. every day, i don't know why. tight.
Drums have a great effect, but he should be doing less of one and 5 beats and should add in some crazy jazz and funk beats to make it a little bit more energetic, especially in the chorus, you know, tapping up near the nut for a bell effect in some spots. Sorry, just a musician griping when they're obviously fine the way they are, lol. Sounds great!
this is still the best drum sounds ive ever heard almost 20 years later.
Ironing board keyboard stand gets me every time.
I miss this project so much. One of my fav bands!
this project was my introduction to david / pedro
If only there was a "love" button. I'd click it infinitely. Thank you for creating beautful, heartfelt, passionate music.
man, it's amazing that only two musicians can create something this great... but i guess these aren't just any two musicians.
this band is so unbelievable. their music is so simple yet so complex. i wish they'd have stayed together, or at least put out another album

Man, What a Kickass drum sound. Can anyone tell if it's a 20" or 18" Kick?
@Blesshendrix every Pedro The Lion/David Bazan/Headphones song has the best/fattest/fullest snare sound.
True say.
Cool song regardless.
Anyone have a good theory as to what Pink & Brown is about?
