But Karen Carpenter‘s voice was so beautiful, and then they had that one song “goodbye to love” that has a really rockin guitar solo in it that every rock ‘n’ roller just loved! Me too!!!😂
Still sounds good?
I remember 2061 it was such a great year lol
This is only a revival from my time in ancient roman courts, it was released 1051AD
I did the math
I loved Karen most in the early days. Loved her look, and talent. It wasn’t cool for a teenage boy to admit he loved their music. In fact, it was never cool, but some of their songs are so magical. They wrote songs that would transcend music trends of any time. They admitted this.
Who cares what was or wasn't cool? Wishing that Karen was still alive and thriving against the negative attacks on her, constantly.
@@ionthetarget I wasn't around back then, but I'm really enjoying their music as I get to know it! What sort of negative attacks was she dealing with?
My 40 year old son gives me grief for listening to her. She’s a million times better than some of the trash he listens to.
@@ionthetarget when you're an adult and confident enough in yourself, then it's easy to be yourself and be open about what you like and dislike. but i think it's understandable that people try harder to "fit in" during their teenage years
I kept a box of 8-trak tapes in my car in mid ‘70s. (get your grandparents to explain 8-trak). Any time another guy got in the car , I played anything EXCEPT Carpenters or Bread. (I didn’t want to get made fun of. Back in those days men weren’t supposed to have feelings) But, if I had a girl in the car, PLAY THE CARPENTERS 😊
I’m almost 69 years old and was really into rock ‘n’ roll when the carpenter’s came out. But Karen Carpenter‘s voice was so beautiful, and then they had that one song “goodbye to love” that has a really rockin guitar solo in it that every rock ‘n’ roller just loved! Sad that she never found the love that her heart longed for and sang about.
Your comment made me get goosebumps. So sad. She had everything going for her. Tragic. A beautiful soul. Unbelievable voice. Take care x
I was 6..in love with miss karen...thought she was singing to me...bless her...
A voice as smooth as butter. One of the greatest vocalists and drummer ever.
The Carpenters were a fixture of my childhood. I was in 5th grade when “we’ve only just begun” was released. I enjoyed their music then as well as today. God bless you Karen.
Such a soft tap on the drums, and an Angels voice to go with it.
The voice of an Angel straight from heaven. I am 60 now. Karen is my favorite. Then I found metal in about 1978. The Carpenters are my secret! Shhhhhh. Don’t let my Metal friends know!
