It is curious how this building wound up with a mixture of devices like that. I can get the out of sync strobes and odd coding as being a grandfather thing, but wouldn't it have shown up immediately that some strobes did not function on the then current system settings? I wonder if that black X means anything, on that malfunctioning alarm at 5:37.
Non-working Strobes (Because the smart sync module was disabled) 03:09 04:48 (The Simplex Truealert is also wearing a name tag necklace) 05:38 (The Simplex Truealert is also kinda off of its mounting box)
My school has their EST IO500 in a computer server room on the second floor. The only access to it is by going through a room being used as a sensory room.
i never heard a true alert on continuous but i heard them on code 3. my fire alarms in my high school are in continuous, but in a side building it's a spectra alert advanced on code 3, and in smaller side buildings, there are gentex commanders horn/strobe but used as a strobe only.
Can you say Seizor Strobe! Isn’t this a NFPA code violation, for (general/most) Strobes out of Sync? Are these alarms Free run, or dumb Sync (as I like to put it)? What fire company’s, dose your work typically distribute, or you work with? Great video 😀👍👍
The panel is in a class room on the second floor Continuous out of sync true alerts Everything sounds too quiet Strobes weren’t working I understand it was grandfathered and those strobes use to work but what code allowed this, I thought my school had a confusing setup Jesus
This is the exact same thing as my school only the classes are like 4x smaller and there is 3x as many horn strobes 😰 the fire alarm setup is really stupid. There is a horn strobe in the BATHROOM. Edit: junior high really is torture 🤬🤬🤬
Sounds like a swarm of drug-addicted hornets.

my elementary school was on continuous, and even worse it was old so in some parts of the school they had terribly loud faraday horn strobes

Can you show where the Initiating and Notifying devices are wired on the circuit board?
The FACP is in a classroom?
Zachary Fleck I wouldn’t mind have that room as my homeroom lol. I’ve been in buildings where the panel is on the third floor 🤔
Zachary Fleck oh wow
Zachary Fleck Ive seen a NAC extender mounted on the ceiling. All I can say is “that’s not my work!”
My school has the FACP in a closet on the second floor
@@caleb0606 ours is in front office
The Truealerts with the dead strobe need a replacement. Pretty nice system! Unusual to see Truealerts on continuous in a school.
The description shows that the Truealerts with the strobes that weren't flashing were not dead, they were just set on SmartSync.
My School Has TrueAlerts on continuous and it’s really annoying
Hi ...may i asking question? About system
Awesome video!

The school was grandfathered before the sync requirements
What panel is that?
Simplex 4002 Fire Alarm Control panel
That ain’t no 4002, it’s either a 4100 or 4020 panel
RSS Alarms. Sorry. Had to relook. It is a 4100 panel
It’s a 4020, the 4100 has a dover buzz piezo sound.
I think the default settting is code 3
Zachary Fleck ya that’s bad
My high school has these on steady as well.
Is every Simplex TrueAlert on continuous in every school?
Not every school, just as required in this jurisdiction.
@@TheFirePanel When are they required to be on continuous, for example? Isn’t that a little too loud, or is it required by the fire code?
@@andrewsstation6436 It's required only by local fire code, nothing in NFPA 72 requires this.
Both my Elementary and Middle schools that I went to have the QuickAlerts set on continuous and my high school has the Wheelock NS’s on code 3
I was in Grade 7 When you tested these
What model number are these?
Simplex 4903-9425, 9426 and 9427 for the horn strobes and 4904-9168, 9169 and 9170 for the remote strobes
The panel is in a class room on the second floor
Continuous out of sync true alerts
Everything sounds too quiet
Strobes weren’t working
I understand it was grandfathered and those strobes use to work but what code allowed this, I thought my school had a confusing setup Jesus
Zachary Fleck
Oh no doubt, every time I hear this generation of true alerts on video, they always sound quiet
Still a very weird system
The strobes were on SmartSync, so that's why they weren't flashing
what type of panel was that
4020

Sure they chose continuous, but that panel has so many different coding options in the first place
Toward the beginning why did you say “That’s not right”?
I think because the true alert should be at code 3
@@matthewgregory8218 our school uses the same code so its not mandated of a coding for fire alarms
Awesome
i swear elementary schools try to destroy kids’ ears
Agree - My elementary school had TrueAlert Horn/Strobes in the bathrooms.
This School is a little older
