Tweens all the way, No competition for me. The Tweens fashion is so comprehensive and they look fantastic. That being said I like the mini Barbie way more than the regular Barbie Extra. I’ll be picking up the tweens now and the mini Barbies later on clearance because we know they’ll be on clearance eventually.
I think minis have potential but Barrie’s fashion is not up to standards for todays market so I think that’s what’s holding them back and like same with the normal Barrie extras
I personally prefer the LOL style of packaging because it gives me something to do. Just opening the doll with everything already put together is kind of boring for me personally, but I totally understand why others would want everything ready to go right out of the box. Plus the LOL fashions are unmatched imo, so beautifully cohesive and stylized!
I actually like them BOTH and I'm a bit surprised by that. I love the details of the LOL Tweens and the fact that there's so much detail in the clothes (which they do so well through the whole LOL Surprise doll line). But I also like the Barbie Extra Mini too, love the articulation, I like the size of them and also they seem pretty reasonably priced, I wish they had more clothes or accessories but then it is a lower price point. For me I think the Tweens edge out the Extra Mini but I am excited to see how the Extra Minis develop and evolve (IF they develop and evolve). I feel like we all moan about the quality of Barbie a lot so it would be nice to support a line which looks like it addresses some of the issues that we moan about.
I honestly really like both. I do worry with the extra minis struggling to find clothes from other dolls that will cross fit because theirs bodies are sooooo small, but for $15 I feel great about them overall. Absolutely agree they went with a similar aesthetic to enchantimals and EAH. I absolutely ADORE Lexi Girl. In general I like the tweens the most of the different LOL Surprise dolls. I like their face sculpt over the OMGs or original LOL Surprise, and the overall proportions are best of the three. Ultimately I do think LOL is the obvious quality-to-procepoint winner but I'll honestly probably pick and choose my favorites from both lines.
You kinda don’t need to ask which ones better, you can SEE the difference in quality, fashion design, and all around aspects as a whole. 🙌🤗 Tweens all the way (ESPECIALLY Aya Cherry, she’s literally one of the cutest Lol characters ever!)
The quality of clothing is infinitely better on the Tweens doll than on the Barbie. But I just can't get into the gigantic head and weird faces on the Tweens (sorry!). I personally think the Barbie Extra mini's faces is so much prettier.
Yes the detail is better on the tweens. What I am having problems with is the packaging. The tween says there are 15 surprises inside. I counted 10: earrings, 5 bracelets, stand, booklet, brush, backpack. What am I missing? You can't count the doll any more because you see her, no surprise; nor the outfit for the same reason; nor the shoes.
@@niley.nunchuckz I'm confused. Are you saying the 5 bracelets make 15. Earings -1, + 5 bracelets -6, + stand -7, + booklet - 8, + brush - 9, + backpack -10. Still missing 5 surprises. What am I missing? I honestly would like to know.
I gonna collect both of them, I love the styling on LOL but I like the face on the Barbie better. Thanks so much for the comparison. I thought Barbie Minis would be bigger. I'm really happy now that they're even smaller than Tweens.
I think the Minis are so cute. The only issue is, they don’t really fit in the Barbie universe, whereas the Tweens fit very well to the OMG line. The OMG dolls don’t appeal to me at all although I do appreciate the quality and detail on them.

Cute you definitely got the cutest Barbie extra mini but I’m passing on them they can go hang with DreamElla 😂😉🤗 just not my thing. Lexi Gurl is my fav tweens although Goldie Twist is giving me Trixie Mattel vibes 🥰😍❤️👍👍👍
For me I would choose the lol tween hands down.....I like the clothing more. For one thing, the material on the mini barbie isn't anything new or special. It's the same they used on that one barbie extra doll with the blue hair bow. Second, since the barbie doll has a top and bottom made with the same material (no layering either) it's not as visually pleasing. There seems to be a lot more thought and creativity in the lol doll, but I will say kudos to mattel for giving the small barbie articulated knees. I wish the lol dolls knees would be upgraded. So yeah that's just my opinion. Fun to see mattel trying something new but it just missed the mark for me. Oh and I love the surprise bags ....the kid in me loves to rip those bags open! And putting on the extra pieces give it that touch of added play.
Love the tween! Getting my niece one for Christmas, though I've forgotten which one! I love the aesthetic, and mostly MGA's quality has not disappointed, though one of her older OMGS is an amputee until we can maybe fix her hand.
I never was into the barbie extras but the mini’s are way cuter. I bought my first lol tweens and really like it. I never was fan of the lol surprise/omg/btw faces i found them quite weird but their details and quality is worth it all
I don't like the head on the mini, but I would gladly keep the clothes and body to use on my Chelsea dolls. The Tween is way more impressive, hands down. I'm kinda disappointed in the clothing on the minis. I still have Kelly dolls from the 90s with more detail than some of these outfits, but it still beats what most modern day Chelseas are wearing.
I think that we can definitely see that mattel is trying to improve in their quality and I really do like the extra minis but their is definitely a huge way to go in order to reach mgae quality.
I was hopeing that MGA would decide to make Rainbow High dolls with small heads (or even normal size heads) .... now the opposite is happen and we got Barbies with big heads , lol
the thing is i don't really like either one of these lines since it seems like there sexulizing these dolls that are ment to be children are in lace skirts and thigh high boots with SO MUCH MAKE-UP today's beauty standards are unreal! If you see a 11 year old dressed up like that tween was I think youd think they were at least 15
Thank you for making this kind of comparison Video. I learned a lot on Extra Minis and what to expect to them in this review. They're cute and I'll gladly collect both the LOLTweens and ExtraMinis. so cute
Definitely lol has much better fashion but on the contrary barbie mini is smaller then the tweens so it might be hard for Mattel to produce small detail clothing but still i would prefer lol just because fashion and the packaging is better
that isn’t quite a fair excuse, polly pocket & lil’ bratz both stood over 3inches and they were both able to pull off fabric clothes back in the day! mattel nowadays clearly doesn’t care about their brands anymore.
When you were comparing the Barbie extra minis face to the other doll, I had to rewind a couple times because I thought you said "Ever After High orange nipples face mould" 🤣🤣🤣 the CC helped me realize it was "or enchantimals"
I feel like if Barbie wants to do minis, they should totally bring back the Barbie Peekaboo Petites, i remember I only had two of them as a kid but I loved them! These new ones are cute too but there's something about them that don't feel quite... Barbie-ish if that makes sense, like it feels like Mattel but more the Ever After High and Monster High vibes than Barbie lol
I really really can't stand the LOL faces, they came out with a doll with my hair and I really strongly debated on getting her, but I wouldn't enjoy looking at her. Barbie came out with a doll with similar hair who would make an even worse mini me and I ended up pre-ordering her. However given that, if you do like the faces there's little question. I honestly wonder if the clothes or shoes are in anyway interchangeable. Haha...
If I had to decide right now I would probably take the Barbie, simply because she's new and I already have a lot of omg on the shelf. I think the little Barbies are funny, but I don't like all of them, nor do I like all of the omg dolls. I think it's great that Barbie tries to develop something different, new. Unfortunately, they are not yet available in Germany.
Would it be possible to compare the shorter height dolls like the enchantimals, hairdorables and the wee three friends dolls and other similar dolls in height together in a video. I think the btw face is still something I don't particularly like for some reason I know the Barbie one is similar with the big head small body but for some reason it still looks like it goes better then the btw. The clothes of the btw is inspired from celebrities and trends whereas the Barbie has its own idea which may or may not appeal to everyone but least it is original. Although I will agree the clothing does seem like better quality but I think maybe remove the clothing to get a better look at the stitching and material and to compare the bodies to see if clothes can be swapped would be good to know
I would be interested in Body doners, I know Barbie Mini went well on the Chelsea doll, I hate big head dolls so I would only get them for body swapping and did you stay the lol has NO articulation shame Lol but her out fit is cut actually both are. that's just my opinion though. thanks for the review.
Honestly i already knew i would like the tweens better i feel like barbie is only just now starting to do things different because they see companies like lol surprise and want to hop in on the money their making but i honestly don't think the barbie minis will do as good with the kids like lol does i also dont like the head or face

@@cherrybottom7357 OP was talking about OMG and to be fair, the Barbie minis have the plus of not having the eyes + eyelashes molded in so they can change the eye shape when needed! That can make a huge difference.
@@chickpea I’d honestly rather deal with a flawless face sculpt that has permanent defined details than dealing with some unnecessary ugly ass thick eyebrows, emotionless faces and most importantly, one fugly pancake looking rounded flat face which are horrendously similar to EAH! And as far as I’m concerned, all the minis extras to date have similar face features. But hey, that’s just Mattel being lazy once again and not waiting to invest on a doll line that will mostly likely barely last like 2 years??? And that with no doubt will saturate the clearance toys isles.
@@cherrybottom7357 Sure, the Barbie Minis aren't for me either, but my point was more general. Also MGA might not be lazy in releasing a lot of stuff in a year (which worries me about their employees wages and working conditions) but wanna talk about Dream Ella and the quality flaws in Rainbow High and the new Bratz reproduction faces? Both Mattel and MGA are flawed.
I thought the very same thing about their faces. First I thought of EAH, and then Enchantimals..I also see a little bit of Cave Club too. I think this is a good choice for Mattel. Small dolls were successful back in the 60's with Mattels Liddle Kiddles and other similar dolls.. I do love the Kawaii look on the LOL Tween. I'm. not a big fan of the eyes on all of the LOL dolls. I think the dolls might be for different ages. I can see a younger girl or boy liking the Barbie because it's so small and would fit easily in a small hand like age 7-9. The Tween might be for an older child maybe 9-12. I don't really know. I'm a doll collector so I buy dolls too. I think collectors will buy both. I also look at them for children since I have grandchildren. I really do appreciate this review. Mattel seriously needs to do something. They spent a lot on their Color Reveal line and I just don't think that's the best idea. MGA has been blowing Mattel out of the park for a while now!! MGA has 3 very popular lines. My favorite as a collector is Rainbow High.

Lol omg mga all the way. Extra mini is an extra case of disappointment. Sorry...
