Forming friendship groups and extended family - do you know if this will be in game options? Nice review and it's hopeful that we might get a better version of Sims 4, Erin.
I think its super important for the sims to finally have competition. I hope now the devs will finally have a fire lit under them to improve the game and not become obsolete as more life sims emerge. Of course no game will ever be the same as the sims but the variety is also important!
Neuworld also has some AMAZING gameplay vids showing the strengths and weaknesses of the game. Even tho if you mention weaknesses or things that are meh, the InZoi stans are ALREADY attacking. My biggest cons: community lots still aren't editable Kids: I wonder if people aren't playing much with kids and babies because there aren't much too them Teens: The debate on if they will exist seems to be going back and forth. Every early access game I've seen doesn't have teens. It goes straight from child to young adults (who do attend college). I have heard both the Young Adults are teens or official teens will come in full release or teens are in game already just not creatable in the character creator. I've also heard its already promised for release along with toddlers who don't currently exist. So who knows. Based on what we can do now, there's not enough pre adult stages in the game for me. Travel: I don't believ you can travel between different worlds right now. Cut scenes: Marriage and Birth are cut scenes and they seem kinda jarring. Sims 2 cut scenes didn't pull me out the scene, they happneed in the scene. I think cut scenes is a better solution for some tender moments (like marriage and birth) but I hope the transition to them smooths out and it doesn't continue to feel like a giant cut to a mini movie. Then a jarring cut back into the game. I had misgivings about cars and traffic, but neuworld and mad morph's videos have made me feel better about it. I heard population and traffic volume is adjustable in city controls. Character swapping to different households seems pretty smoith and easy but I am not sure how many households you can create yourself who live in the same city. It looks like you create one or Zoi or Zoi family and they can move into the world and the world populates ...and while you can switch Zois in world its unclear if you can litterally fill a world with your own custom families.
Dawn I appreciate your objective approach to the introduction of Inzoi! I am very interested in Inzoi coming to the life sim table and am curious to see how this will impact future The Sims titles. That being said, I hate the attitude of stans and it really muddles my ability to take in Inzoi without the community being so aggressive one way or another.
thanks very much for the recommendation. I honestly can't recall who I watched now beyond this video- but guessing I didn't see those. I didn't;t either see any indication you could travel between worlds - hard to know if this is always or eventually will change. Hm, good point about the world populating. Im interested to learn the limit of world population, if it replenishes itself, if there are briths etc outside of what you are doing not sure about kids. It could be, or it could even be that they don't have access to play with those younger stages yet.
@@SimmerErin MadMorph seemed confused on how to pick up or feed his baby and it did a bit of crying, but he ended the video after a few silly interactions at the crib, don't know if he will continue with that Zoi. it didn't seem much better than an object baby from Sims 4 base game tbh (in gameplay, of course it looked better), in some ways the gameplay with it seemed worse from a family player perspective. And in Emma's video she switched to a family in game that had a baby but the baby just seem to be sitting on the floor doing litteral nothing. And there didn't seem to be any reprecussions in the game for the fact the baby was just left home alone for who knows how much time. I asked Neuworld if kids are walking around living in the world, (also elders/middle aged Zoi) as I just haven't seen it yet. He says they are walking around living there lives. But I've barely seen anything in videos that aren't giving another 'young adult simulator'. And kinda not interested in young adult simulator, no matter what the graphics look like. My question for InZoi is not what is better than Sims 4, they are kinda same-y in a lot of things. It's what's better than Sims 2 and 3.
the recognition need..... i really hope someone mods that out. i don't like the idea of having to have a social media presence and needing to be recognized. the obsession with social media (as well as the desire to have tons of followers and be an ~influencer~) in the modern age makes me deeply uncomfortable. i don't see why they couldn't have just left it with just needing a general social need. i don't have issue with the game having a social media aspect to it, but i do have issue with it being a major focus rather than something you choose to interact with.
while it's an interesting concept, I personally think it'd make more sense as something needed only for a very specific personality or career- I don't think it makes sense for everyone to have recognition as a major need
What I find quite fascinating is the jobs and careers are specific to the world you play in, like being the amusement park attendant in Blissbay, or being a singer in Dowan. I can even tell that some activities are location based, such as you can only have amusement rides and beach activities in Blissbay, or Dowan has karaoke and so on. The social interaction tab is, for a lack of a better term, cluttered. Much worse than the pie menu in Sims 4. Perhaps they have a unique system that we are not familiar with. All in all the base game is hefty in content so far. It even has a lot of stuff that Sims 4 has as kits or stuff packs and even some that is not even available in Sims 4. If EA isn't shaking right now, they better be.
yeah, I Never would have thought of careers specific to the world but it's kind of a neat concept. Perhaps when they add more - if they do- it'd make sense to also add more general jobs that could be in both as well I agree, the social menu I currently find a little disorienting, so I hope to hear some more explanation about it. I suspect it could be a WIP as it seems less polished than some other elements we have seen I don't actually agree with the last comment entirely, but I may subject myself to discussing why at length
@@SimmerErin I do think jobs like Cafe waiters, shop clerks are going to be common across different worlds. I guess having unique careers for different worlds is their way to provide different gameplay. I also heard some complaints about public transportation being a loading screen rather than a in person experience unlike driving. It's rather inconsistent when they they spent so much time to make driving a car immersive but barely anything if you take a bus.
The gameplay I've seen is way more impressive than I thought the game would be. I did see some other more serious visual issues with lighting and textures, but nothing that bad for early access. However, the bigger bug was with pathfinding. One of the ZOIs could not sit down at their couch to watch TV and would instead walk to their balcony and face away from the TV to watch it. The Sims has always had pathfinding issues that prove to be really frustrating so I worry that they will never be able to fix all of these instances. Also, in Oshin's video the game kind of makes it a big deal switching ZOIs and with the overall up close camera angle it really feels like the game is catering to single ZOIs and getting immersed in their life specifically. I can imagine playing a full family could feel tedious.
Apparently Zois can't multitask yet, at all. They can sit or watch TV, but sitting AND watching TV is still difficult. They also can't have like conversations while eating yet. I think this is reasonably fixable tho. I hope so. Even as a single Zoi focused game, I hope we get better grouping. So like if Zois go to a fast food place together you can 'sit together' and eat. You can go on rides together. You can surf together. The most attractive thing to me Paralives has shown off is their grouping function tbh.
I agree, I'd be more concerned with pathfinding. granted they have time to tweak that, ands hopefully it will go fairly well. Yeah Im not sure- on one hand, it seems convenient (unless you do it accidentally which I could see ha). it's hard for me to tell about family gameplay as a whole- one dev stream mentioned it a bit and it sounded promising, while the overall; tone and emphasis feels more oriented to controlling individuals. in this note, I am also unsure about how the whole active work days will factor too
Erin, huge *thank you* for doing this! My feed was inundated with videos to the extent of 'INZOI HAS SHUT DOWN THE SIMS 4' and I was honestly quite annoyed. Yes, Inzoi is certainly making huge strides that, especially in comparison to The Sims 4 base game and its overall value (or lack thereof), I would undoubtedly say that it's going to put an immense amount of pressure on EA as a competitor. However, I wanted an objective overview of everything so far and you never fail at delivering just that!
I won't go all the way to say Inzoi has crushed the Sims 4, but I do say it will at least chip off the piece of the Life Simulation pie from EA. Sims 4 in 2014 was an embarrassment of a base game. Enough said.
@@westanimesims Yes, there is no doubt Inzoi is some fierce competition. I predict that between Inzoi and The Sims, we might see Inzoi take at least 25%-30% of The Sims player base in a year or two of its release, if I had to guess. I am still very excited for Paralives as well!
Inzoi is really coming to take the number 1 spot of being the most popular life simulation game from The Sims 4. Finally there is a good life simulation game that can compete against The Sims. This is actually momentous to witness in real time
I don't like to speak negative about the sims because I grew up with the sims and it helpt me a lot emotionally. Only, it isn't hard too win from the sims at this stage! The sims4 doesn't work with out mods, the game is totally broken! Plus, it has become so expensive it isn't fun anymore, we are paying big money for just a repeat of the old same what most of the time doesn't work! I think im gonna give Enzoi a try.
There is a chinese youtuber called sulsulDUCK who showed more features that I haven't seen in anyone else's videos, including a bit more about karma. There are english subs.
@@canariawing I'm thinking it's augmented reality capture with AI assisted smoothing. the days of huge motion capture rigs with green screens are practically gone. either way I'm glad it allows smaller studios like this to make some really good looking content.
I'm impressed by what I've seen so far as features in this game, but I need to see more information and some actual gameplay before I consider getting this game. Some things I like to know are interactions between different life stages and family dynamics for instance.
@SimmerErin We'll probably get them in a new pack. In the same way, TS2 introduced young adults to the game. But I hope it'll just be a base game update.
I've already watched most of these creator's videos so nice to see we have the same taste. 🙂 acottonsock is another pretty decent creator who has a couple of inZOI videos out too. She's also published a list of the life stages inZOI will have: Newborn, Toddler, Child, Adolescent, Teenager, Young Adult, Adult, Middle Aged, Senior.
yeah I saw that later - and replied to some comments here. very confusing, because duff creators are saying diff things! is the discrepancy what is currently in game vs what is planned
no problem! there are many out there beyond too of course. some I avoided based on the overall title, but I find that a lot of creators did a pretty decent job covering this so far
I heard somewhere that the screen shots can be modded, so people can make mods to replace them. There's little doubt that one of the first will be some kind of 'wicked whims' pack that replaces the procreation screen shot. 🤣 There's little to absolutely NO chance that the game will ever enlarge on that specific part of the game (in my opinion as someone who actually lives in Korea) - Korea is still VERY conservative in that way - these things are fairly strictly behind doors - it might be love hotel doors, but it's still VERY strictly behind doors. Sex before marriage happens here, but is still publicly frowned upon, similar to how it was in the 70s in the west, although that is changing rapidly with the young here. Even marriage is still almost exclusively via parental permission, even if a partner is chosen personally. I suspect (hope, too) that they might sell packs to replace some of those screen shots, eg weddings. And done properly - with all sorts of gameplay attached to weddings - picking the cake and dress and ring, either solo or as an event with friends/family, organising the weddding - the ceremony, the wedding breakfast - choose things like first dance/cake cutting/speeches, other small events within an event - organise the order of those events and who does it etc - that's what a wedding pack should be! Korea has weddings too, similar in some ways but with some differences, but generally a lot less fancy and with less fuss than western weddings, and extra special traditions like 'official meeting of the in-laws type' ceremonies. So, if they do a pack, I hope they add in a lot of opt in/out options for various types of ceremonies and events with regard to weddings - that would be amazing! The gameplay is, as one would expect, not diverse YET, but there's a lot of detail to the gameplay they have actually implemented, so I expect weddings to be at that similar detailed level. The pattern here is good! When they add a feature, they REALLY do that feature well! Instead of, "let's just do the basic corner cutting stuff, eg window rabbit hole, reuse existing mechanics etc". That's what I'm most impressed by so far. I really hope they continue in that vein - I'd very much prefer quality over quantity. Just like this. The Sims does the opposite of that: quantity over quality, eg lots of food options, but they're all exactly the same - just different picture assets, events mechanic overdone to death! I'm intrigued to see what the rumour thing does in gameplay. I suspect that, if it has gameplay implications (and I certainly hope so, otherwise it's just window dressing) that repercussions and impact comes out later on in-game as they spread. So I hope we see more of that in the let's plays over the next week. Do rumours impact what people do an how they behave? Can a character start a rumour? Do rumours impact personality? Do rumours impact chances of making friends or getting a job or how people react to a character. Do rumours effect the karma mechanic? Eg spreading them falsely decreases karma? Are there true AND false rumours. Can you find out somehow which is true and which is false? Are there positive and negative (good/bad) rumours? And do THOSE things (true/false, negative/positive) impact gameplay? This is what I'm hoping to see. It's great that all the personality and wants and likes and goals etc are all there from the get-go, instead of afterthoughts. Those things are really important and it's not a life sim without them. And that means that future implementations can actually consider them and include impacts for them. These give the game 'good bones' from the get-go - lots of aspects that future implementations of character actions can affect! This was a major problem with The Sims 4 - they weren't there from the get-go, so there were little or no impacts - it's very difficult to add a major feature that impacts the whole of gameplay retroactively - neigh impossible, I would guess. That's a major reason why The Sims 4 was so incredibly shallow from the very beginning, and that problem was obviously never going to improve - fleshing out stuff is not improving on features that have nothing to impact in the first instance. I want to see how all these aspects affect how the character operates and how that effects relationships. That's what a life sim is all about!! I want all these aspects to CAUSE different conversations, CAUSE close relationships, CAUSE rifts between people, CAUSE friction between people, CAUSE GAMEPLAY! This is what I want to see in a life sim. It all looks very promising, but the proof in the pudding is how those things play out in gameplay. As I said at the very beginning when I first saw this game, because the dev has a lot of experience in RPG, that might come out in THIS game. It's still looking very much like that's the case. Let's hope!! 🙂
Thank you for putting this together. For games I'm particularly excited about, I try to avoid too much early access or pre-release content. Small doses like this are great ❤❤
Great insights, thanks, this is what I've gathered from watching almost everything I can find on youtube thus far + some twitter stuff: 1) Yes, you do see your zoi drive in automated mode but you can skip to fast travel essentially to your location. 2) You can interact with the cats ( I have not seen so far if you can interact with the other animals) 3) The "Wedding" per-say is a cutscene and inzoi is actually developing a cut scene creator (I know you mention it later in the video) so we can role play and have the cutscenes we made play in place of the included cutscenes like the wedding one(I don't know at this time if cutscenes made from the community will be easily downloadable) 4) There is a surf interaction but as of right now we cannot swim in the ocean yet (it may be implemented on release). 5) I have watched at least 15 videos on inzoi yesterday and I also can't tell how much traits effect relationships.
that's my impression as well . there's a lot of really cool features, but I want to see more autonomy from other zoos, a bit more to relationships, and more dynamic differences based upon personality .
For pre-release I'm impressed with what I've seen from InZoi. Saw that Datura guy's video it was pretty funny. He made the city super rundown and dirty and cheated on his pregnant wife. Great video Erin, thanks❤!
I'll have to watch later, I'm about to start cooking but I've been watching a few vids on this and it's looking very promising. There are issues with performance, pop-in, pathing, clipping and others but it's early yet and it's not like a certain other game doesn't have those issues. However, so much of it seems right, from the open worlds, the animations, the characters (of course) and all the things you can do in the base game. Stuff that still isn't available in that other game after a decade. If they can get the monetisation correct, this could be a real big hit.
yeah, not going to hold the clipping and little things against any game this early on, they should have ample time to fix it - always good to note of course I question a lot about the depth of these things; the interactions, personalities and so forth. But it's hard to tell- I do hope anyway that more games will have more things in their base foundation going forward. They may not have quite as much depending on how they are developed but it;s good to have some solid core systems to build upon later
@@SimmerErin The depth of these features could be an issue but you touch on what I said about Paralives concentrating on the build mode and base stuff before gameplay. You have to put the solid base in first and then build up. Even with what little I know about coding, it's much harder to add something completely new later than it is to add to what's already there.
Traits and poses you can have your Zoi do is going to be SO FIRE! 🤩👍 No mods needed to make Zois pose awsome! 🤩👍 love how we will also be able to have back drops or create one. Finally can't do that in Sims 4 with out mods. So I am estatic to be able to have that feature in this game. 🤩👍
I am in the minority that likes cartoonish simulations. anything too realistic gives me the creeps.😅 it's nice to see people excited for a new game AND I'll never understand stan culture where it has to be one thing over another. variety is the spice of life.
It still feels more like a life manager than life sim. I mean its kinda what I've wanted for a city builder to be able to peek in on my city and watch them live their lives after I've built the world up.
@@SimmerErin Mostly the social system and how the world can be edited to increase difficulty or up the drama! Plus, we get weather and three cool unique cities for the cost of the game!
My biggest worry right now with Inzoi is that the personality of the zois don't seem all that different. From what I can tell they all seem to act the same, which is concerning. I also really can't stand the trait archetypes. It sounds very restrictive. Like if you want to make someone who's artistic and extroverted, tough luck because according to Inzoi all artistic people must also be introverts. As a quick way to pick traits and get into the game fast I'd think it was fine but I don't like that there's no option to go under the hood and pick the specific traits you want.
that's what I am feeling as well. I'd argue that's one of the greatest challenges of building a life sim game. I really love to see distinct personalities- and it's hard to find a game that has that
I might play around with CAZ when the demo comes out. The game looks interesting for sure but I still haven't seen anything that's really sold me on gameplay yet. Not that what I've seen isn't decent but I haven't seen anyone explore things I'd definitely do if I were playing yet and some of the features are still in development, I believe. Depending on how much it costs on release or on sale I may buy it but I'm cool sticking with Sims 3 and 2 for my life sim fix for now too.
@@SimmerErin So I've played around with it for a little over an hour and made a random male and female character. To me it's on par if not a little better than Sims 4 depending on what I'm trying to do. It's lacking in a few areas but it is a demo of something still in development. It also exceeded my expectations in other areas and it's a nice bonus that I like their art style more than Sims 4. If they add more clothes and hair styles and a few more body adjustment options in the future and had just a CAZ demo I could play it all day. I still don't know about playing the full game yet but I saved my random Zois just in case.
I HOPE to TRY the demo tomorrow IF I CAN FIRST Install Steam. I am looking forward to this especially the character creator Also can't wait when the game is come out for Early access and then release day. So excited for this game. 🤩👍✌
Hi hope now others are creating life simulation games, it will give the sims team more motivation too step up and fix the many game bugs and will make the game affordeble for regular people. :-)
Thanks Erin! I'm hoping I'll be able to take advantage of the free character creator but I only have Windows 7 so I'm not very hopeful. I know for sure I won't be able to get the game for many years because I have to buy a whole new computer to do so.
In time this game MAY be cool for haveing Super natural zois. Like vampires and witches or other super natural thinga like ghost too. Just a thought. 🤔🤩👍
Game has major potential, but still needs a little bit more work. Hopefully this will be smoothed out. I wish there was more people inside the world wondering around because the city seems a little dead. I wish the buses would actually move.
The "desired life" is interesting. However, I wonder if you can have a combination of desires. (I like the one about contributing but also the creative one. I'd like to see more about it. Is it like aspirations?) The goal thing sounds like there is going to be a lot of emphasis on employment. That isn't something I'm interested in and it seems like it's been like that since the beginning of hearing about the game. I'm more into other aspects of "life." Even when you don't play the game yourself (such as TS4's Wedding Stories), you still pull interesting information into the videos you do. (I'm especially interested in the videos you do about how things work in the game industry.)
As much as InZoi looks promising, I doubt it will "overthrow the Sims". - The game isn't out yet, and any UA-camrs giving it early reviews are likely going to miss or gloss over a lot of the issues. It's a promising early-access game, so what they do find issue with is going to be assumed a 'work-in-progress' - something that will be added or fixed by release. - A lot of reviewers are playing the game the same way. We aren't getting a broad enough picture of the full game, including stuff like other life-stages or the Karma system. While this could be caused by a lot of reviewers wanting to give simplistic 'first look' style reviews, it could imply a larger issue that could plague the game going forward: a possible lack of scope and repetitive gameplay loop that players will quickly grow tired of. - I'm not seeing many popular life-sim UA-camrs doing reviews of InZoi. Either they aren't as big and I don't recognize their channel, or they focus on other genres outside life-sims. Contrast this with Life By You or Paralives marketing, which did/does rely more on well known, dedicated life-sim channels. This means InZoi is likely casting a wider net, but that the reviewers (and their audience) are less likely to be familiar with the genre, and thus less likely to notice glaring flaws that more experienced life-sim players might. - InZoi is being made by a Korean team, not an international one. Korea is, at times, very different from what most people are used to and a lot of the quirks and issues with the culture and society, everything from school uniforms and cutesy gestures to unhealthy work-life balances and rampant sexism, are much more likely to be present in the game. Additionally, we could see the inclusion of stuff like subscription models or limited time DLC, because Korean culture has a different relationship with gaming. - The art style is very realistic looking, which will age poorer than a more stylized game. Also, hair, clothes, furniture, etc. in this style are more prone to clipping issues, will give less room for variety (less clothes and hair options), and will be more demanding on your computer. - Everything reflects modern life, which makes it harder to diversify gameplay. I'm not seeing traditional homes, clothing or furniture that could resemble anything older than the 90s, or any way to alter the world to create a truly alien landscape. - There is a strong emphasis on social media and influencer culture. Not necessarily a good thing if you are looking to be... anything that doesn't heavily use those aspects of the game. - The focuses in the game seem to be all over the place. You can do tarot reading, join the K-pop career, use AI to make a funky looking painting, make the city look post-apocalyptic, or die in a car accident. You can't plan a wedding, debut as a K-pop star, become a firefighter in Bliss Bay, live on a farm in the countryside, or have weather that changes automatically.
Definitely agreed. Idk how many people will be turned off by the generative AI (and I think, but correct me if I’m wrong, AI voices), but I know that’s a huge no thanks from me. The graphics aren’t my thing either (hyper realism looks creepy to me), and the possibility of limited time DLC or subscription purchases would absolutely turn me away. I’m glad people are excited by this game, don’t get me wrong, but I don’t think one game is going to be the killing blow to the sims.
Regarding life in the world and it seeming empty: what I’ve noticed is there are a lot of cars on the road. If these are actually Zoi driven and not set dressing, that may be where they are. And also, when creators of gone to major destinations like the beach, there are definitely a lot of Zoi around. Given it’s a big open world, it makes sense to me that you won’t have streets teaming with Zoi, as each created character is fully fleshed out and playable. If there are say 80 Zoi in the world, then you’re not going to get more than one or two in any particular space. I absolutely don’t want set dressing style Zoi, I want Zoi neighbours with living breathing stories. So I’m good with the population I’m seeing now.
Saw some gameplay footage as well and this game looks so good. Definitely going to have to get a new computer for this 😂 currently using my MacBook for sims
yeah I play sims on a Mac too. runs very well, but this game has not plans for Mac apparently . Lots of Macs are very capable when you get up to higher specs, just a lot of devs don't make a version for Mac
@@SimmerErin I think it is the UI and the graphics. Especially the UI looks rather clinical. The menus look like office software and not like a game, I think.
I find it a little odd that none of the bigger sims channels has put out a video about this game yet. Edit: Well now the videos are coming out. I was a little impatient.
I hate to be sound like Mr. Negative, but it really sounds like the opposite of what I want, having never been a fan of active careers, minutia, or focusing too much or control of one character (in this kind of game at once). But since a lot of people seem really excited for it I guess that just show why the genera needs more than one game, since different players can have very different preferences.
that last point precisely. I think you're spot on in the genre needing more options and I don't think you are being negative, just indicating our personal preferences. For me: I like that there is an option for active careers for games but I tend to do them only occasionally. I also really like an emphasis on how characters interact with one another and some things happening outside of my control - while others have other priorities
I heard that a UA-camr managed to get 5 true loves in the course of 27 (in-game) hours so it definitely seems like relationships need some serious adjusting.
Thanks as always for the info. Inzoi just isn't my cup of tea for a number of reasons, including the super realism and the fact it seems very task oriented, but i think any life sims competition is good so i really want it to do well. I did notice in Itsmetroi when the husband flirted with a zoi that wasn't his wife, his wife messaged him right away asking where he was and who he was with. That was funny but now i wonder how cheating works and if it's tied to the rumor system
Well, the graphics are really pretty! I'll say this, I'm gonna point to the fanbase's reaction to InZoi when people insist they care more about gameplay than graphics. When I see people play, it looks kinda basic, and the Zois themselves don't have much of a personality. But man, it's really pretty.
Yeah, a bit concerned about the personality too. I'm not sure, I def think some pick it by graphics - I will give it that there's a lot of activities so to speak in its base too, so there are a few reasons people may be interested
i cant wait for early access i wish they would give us a date and a early access price which i am hoping would be no more then 30$ like the sims was when it came out at least thats how much i paid for it and my other early access games
@@SimmerErin I'm hoping long term monetization just buy the game and that's it no micro transactions and buy whatever expansions come out but at this point it's gonna be in early access so it's gonna be a little too early to worry about all of that
if karma affects future inzoi characters life, they are having rough life ahead. players aren't know to make good decision towards those who they control. Imagine having bad karma because a diety deleted, granny hazels pool ladder 1932.
honestly I find karma to be one of the more compelling elements of the game, so def would like them to explain it a bit more. as in: how does it impact them? is it bad karma by inzoi or by the city as a whole?
You have to orchestrate everything because that's the point of the Sims-like genre... you play God and play with the characters like dolls. I will say this game leans more life sim with the ability to control the zoi with wasd. And there is a slider for the city safety and fire chances, so if you want bad things to happen to the Zoi, you can crank those options up. Although it is to be seen how much random events happen versus controlling everything.
It admittedly didn't showcase much yet in the way of unique personalities and some other aspects I want to see (it is hard to tell though from these reviews); I do know there are elements like crime, car accidents, and such that can happen. I think the ideas have potential, but it does thus far feel is leans more towards the management side so.. it has promise, but I am unsure about the extent and depth of those things happening outside of our control, consequences and so on
My favorite part of the review I watched was when the player was like "Woo! Let's drive a car!" Then it was annoying and clunky for 30 seconds and then she said "Actually, I don't want to drive" and opted to skip ahead to the destination. Which I think about sums up why I don't care if there are cars in life sims, and why I don't care if they never come to the Sims 4 lol.
yeah, I certainly understand why people want them in theory. I'm not against them, but driving them, actively doesn't personally appeal a ton to me, It's good that they added an auto option too. Hopefully they will improve and optimize driving a bit
Hi Erin. Are you also going to be getting the chance to TRY out the demo? It looks so cool🤩👍 ty for posting this video and have a nice week and as allways take care Erin. 👍✌💖
@@SimmerErin oh soory to hear. Thought the demo would be on mac too. Guess NOT. That must suck fir you.:( Are your getting the full game when it come out. Pretty sure that it's going to be On ALL player plattforms even Mac. HOPE you get to. The demo was NOT ti bad i had a pretty good time with Character creator made a few Zois too. Sad it's going away in a few days :( Still can't wait until the FULL game comes out though. . Btw how is your NEW place working out for you? Ty for your reply and as allways take care Erin. Have a nice week. 👍✌🙂💖
I think she misspoke because she didn’t say young adult when there are already young adults in the game. Apparently teenagers are present in the game, just not in create a zoi mode yet. They probably will be when it is released.
that is what I heard from one creator. it's confusing to me, because this was posted on twitter: x.com/acottonsock/status/1825275867154596017?s=51&t=oYJGYZa6HwoXfVuscy9pjw if this one is true, the devs have additional life stages planned. Since I am seeing and hearing different things from different people, it'd be good for the devs to clarify this
It bothers me to call those videos "reviews". They are previews, there is nothing Review about them. They are selected influencers chosen to promote a pre-early access game. Im not saying they're paying these people to shill for them, but they are definitely curated. I like to believe that their reactions are genuine. Ultimately, you can't review something without knowing the final product, all you can do is speculate. Calling them reviews is disingenuous and implies more substance than exists at this point.
@@SimmerErin They are Krafton sponsored videos, many of which are by people that don't have Sims videos on their channels (one hadn't even posted a video of anything for a year) and others that appear to make a living mostly by crapping on the Sims 4, based on the videos I got tired of watching. At best you can call them demos or previews. Review implies some sort of independent analysis and gives more weight to the videos than they deserve, at least at this point. Like I said above, it's very possible, and even likely, that they are giving honest opinions - lots of the game looks cool. But this IS UA-cam where creators are notorious for hyping anything they are paid for. We need to take a grain of salt with all videos, but these have a few red flags for me.
AI is an umbrella term- and many forms have been around for a long bit. But the most controversial form would be generative AI, which I assume you mean- where you can type in a prompt and it creates "art" for you. There are also implications here for the talented modding community
I'm glad that theres another life simulation for people that dont enjoy the sims anymore. Personally I'm going to stick with the sims, i dont really care for the realistic cosy approach inzoi and paralives are taking.
there will be an early access demo of the character creator, which you can download via steam I believe tomorrow? the full early access I don't know yet. They reached out to content creators for this extra early access and I don't know entirely how they made their selection
I can't tell stability this early; notably those who suffer stability issues in sims 4 do for a variety of reasons, but stability concerns became more prominent with lots of dlc and years behind it
@@SimmerErin Its true, I guess it's not fair to compare demo gameplay to a ten year old game with 100+ add ons, haha But some of the reviewers did say it seemed quite well optimized and smooth, which is promising. :)
Correction, there are no teens. Hopefully, they change that in the future, but the way it is now your Zoi will jump from a child to a young adult. It will be nice to finally have a variety of simulation games. I hope I can turn up the chaos. I've never liked that the Sims scaled back the spontaneity of the game from Sims 1 to 4, and you have to choose everything that happens.
hmm, this creator shared that there were more than that: x.com/acottonsock/status/1825275867154596017?s=51&t=oYJGYZa6HwoXfVuscy9pjw here, it is saying there's even a life stage before teen too (and between kid) so I'm honestly confused on this as people are saying different things
@SimmerErin maybe it's something they hope to implement later. I've watched a few of the reviewers, there only 5 life states shown, and the 2nd one is young adult. Pixelade made a special point to mention that there's no teens. There were children, young adult, adult, middle aged, and seniors. But hey, if they're going to eventually add all those life states, I'm here for it.
@@elizabeths.1888 huh! maybe the reviewer I watched was confused, and I guess that could be their future plans? Hopefully the devs will do a stream or something again and clarify
right like I’m so confused as much as I want this game to light a fire under EA’s a$$ we don’t even know how good this game is going to be until its released early access for the public lmao
I don't think it will flop, you know how many people just pose and photograph Sims. If they can do it with pretty Zoi, they're all over it. But for all it has Sims 4 doesn't, there's still a lot Sims 4 can do inZoi still can't... Like Multitasking. Zois can't even talk with a friend while eating with them right now. And while Sims 4 multitasking is imperfect if I send my Zoi couple out to eat I don't want them sitting there like robots not talking. And if you say anything like that people will be like "it's coming' with no confirmation from Devs that it is. Jeez, let me make observations on what we have NOW please.
I understand there's a lot of frustration. I also understand that inzoi does indeed have a lot of potential with its features and graphics. I do disagree with the sentiment and statement , and may talk more at length sometime why. Regardless of if inzoi is or isn't successful in its own right, I don't think it itself would be the downfall of sims. nor do I find that to be a desirable outcome
Oh interesting. So they're going with outsourcing (?) that's how I read it. The pessimism in me takes that as a financial incentive to lower operating costs. 😅 But it kinda makes sense as they're trying to get an understanding of different cultures. This pack honestly doesn't interest me.
I’m calling it now: Once InZoi enters Early Access, many simmers will get it, regardless of their system specs. Then we‘ll have another Cities Skylines II or Starfield situation, where people blame the bad optimization instead of their own PCs. Even worse, they proceed to write an undeservedly bad review on Steam after 0.1 hours playtime. It’s easy: If your computer meets the Minimum requirements, you’ll be able to run the game on the lowest settings. (If your PCs is not good enough, it will either not run at all, or very, very badly. Don’t waste your money in that case.) Personally, I haven’t watched the InZoi previews. I never do, for new games. It spoils it for me. Going in blind and exploring everything myself is part of the fun. I’ve read the comments, though. Somehow people seem to forget, the game isn’t even in Early Access yet. InZoi is already much more detailed than TS4 base game, still people judge it by higher standards. (Especially compared to Paralives, which hasn’t shown any notable gameplay as of yet.) I’m hopeful InZoi will be a great Life Sim, but I’ll wait for full release, as per usual. Monetization is definitely the deciding factor. Apart from that, I’m not a fan of this whole K-Pop style and social media focus. I’ll have to see how tweakable the game is to match my personal play style. As always, thank you, Erin! Comprehensive and to the point! Much appreciated. 🤘
yeah... I do agree that there prob will be peopele that try to run this with min specs and expect great performance. obviously that wouldn't be on the devs but can add to the overall perspective. but I think my other concern would be people building this up to be a perfect game- and it's not, no game is. yeah, I'd hope they'd clarify monetization sometime soon here Thank you! appreciate your comment
@teztezza2202 That depends. A lot of people use AI to steal from others, especially when it comes to art or harming others by using their voices in harmful ways.
The game looks a little better than I expected but all the same reasons are there of why I don't want it. - Multitasking and group forming are just not there I like playing my characters in groups it's why Get Together will always be Sims 4 best expansion - No one has shown any meaningful family game play whatsoever actual the complete opposite one of the streamers had the dad come home to a baby who was home alone sitting in a hallway 😬is a babysitter or taking the kid with you not an option. - The character creator still does a horrible job creating characters who don't like Korean you end up with a black character who looks mixed black/Korean or a white character who looks mixed white/Korean they need to add more face templates to add some diversity to this game. - Am I wrong but I only seen 5 colors you could pick for your car and one of them was not red that's so disappointing to me I'd also prefer to make my own worlds but at least unlike Sims 4 there will be space and somewhat the option to make it my own with things like changing billboards.
I'd always prefer to have the ability to create my own worlds too- or rather others could too ha. for sims 3 for example I have downloaded a Paris inspired world before and I loved it. just adds variety to the game and is a lot of fun I think there are some pretty cool features here, but I'm not too certain there's an improvement in overall dynamics or complexity in character interactions. Its hard to tell from these extra early reviews, especially since much could change
The game is still in development with no release date in sight, and they're planning on Early Access. They're very open with that information in the Discord. Devs have already mentioned that multitasking is on the way, and idk what character creation videos you've been watching, but I've definitely seen plenty of Zois that don't look Korean at all. I'd say I'm pretty optimistic overall.
I wonder how "honest" the KPop idol career will be. The rampant ownership of idols (especially women) that fans feel entitled to and how the industry caters to that is really gross and scary.
I was almost sold on Inzoi, because I like so many things about the game. Inzoi just isn't my first choice, for a life stimulation game. The reason I love The Sims is because it has charm, and Paralives has that charm. Inzoi is flashy, and I don't feel any charm from it. I hope, it does well!
Yeah, I understand that . They have a very different tone and aesthic- the other two appear to have more whimsy. But yes, it's good to see different games either way, and for different people
I love the ai generation element to building! I’m already thinking about asking it to make abstract pieces, alcohol ink pieces, and see what it comes up with for paper quilling (as I am a paper quiller. The ai generated ones I’ve seen are cool, though different than actual quilling). So nice you won’t need CC for this kind of decor!
Definitely won’t be getting it, I don’t want to support the use of generative AI and also the company works together with curseforge so double no. And apart from that I play on a Mac as well 🙈
@@SimmerErin you can’t imagine how much I wish I could play sims 2 and sims 3 on my mac 😭 the sims 4 runs wonderfully on my macbook pro m2 - much better than it was on pc. I got the macbook for work but was positively surprised.. I don’t have much time to play another game anyways but yeah our options are limited
AI in games helps reduce costs, speeds up development, and allows developers to focus on the elements that really matter. I don't understand why some people complain about the use of AI, especially when they also say video games are too expensive or game being buggy. And AI will do wonders for indi game that have a small budget that can't afford to hire 10+ artists
@@nsbm159 I think with any such discussion, it's always good to be clear that Ai is an umbrella term. AI in many forms has been present for a long time. The most controversial form is usually generative Ai for purposes of replacing art and writing for example; other forms of Ai however have been used for. a very long time and are used for many reasons
Major cons so far: no ability to multitask, very barebones conversation system, complete lack of family gameplay as far as i can tell, lack of animations especially facial, Zois personalities dont seem to shine through, cut scenes are very jarring. Obviously, there are many pros as well, but im comparing it to base sims 2/3, and so far, it definitely needs more time. It seems to be going in a great direction though and in my opinion is close to being better than base sims 4 and thats pre-alpha.
I'm not sure, with the systems sim 4 has now, that I';m more keen on the overall autonomy and personalities- but I honestly think it's hard to say, and Idk I'd compare anyway. I def agree with most of this: I think it has some pretty compelling features and very much love to see more in the base game! But there are core systems that do need work- def to be expected, but we'll just have to see how it develops from here
Personally I really dont trust nor care, what "youtubers" say about a game that's in...uhm.. early-early access(?) . Considering that most if not all of said youtubers, actually gets gifts and sh-t from the devs. THAT plus the fact that they actually get to play an early build of the game, kinda tells you the truth in itself, these youtubers will do the darnest to stay on the devs good side. Show me ONE video that says a lot of bad things about the game. Now tell me how many videos you find where they go "oh this is so cool, it's a Sims-killer, you can walk here, you can walk there" Now which kind of video do you think you'll find the most of? Nah, not MOST, it's actually more likely every single video on YT showers the game with positive feedback and 'thoughts'. You get bribed..sorry I mean you get nice little gifts from the devs, and they let you try the game early, that surely means you'll be taking a dump on the game eh? No? lol At it's core, this isn't just a The Sims-killer, it's actually more like The Sims 5 or something. At it's core it's just the same. Clipping doesnt mean it's just an Early Access problem, I can guarantee you that the game will have clipping 10 years from now as well. Early Access very rarely changes things like that, as it has to do with the animations. Remaking animations takes time. See, this is the problem not only with this game but with EA titles in general, Game has issues, bugs, graphical glitches, etc etc, and these diehard moro...I mean fans, will defend it saying "but it's early access, it's gonna be fixed and perfect soon(tm) ". No, it wont'. Stop being so effing dumb people. Yes you can do a lot of things you can't in The Sims. Not saying this is exactly like the sims, nor that The Sims is better or anything. Just that these youtubers need to stop claiming it's miles better and will forever kill off Sims. This game does indeed need to be successful, because The Sims really DO need competition. EA has always been greedy, and The Sims is one of their main greed-machines. So a big slap on EA's butts by this game would be VERY welcome. So believe me, I'm *not* anti towards Inzoi. But unlike many others, I have more than two working braincells. We honestly don't know HOW well the game truly runs and plays. Sure we have several youtube videos. But again, as I said moments ago, these are videos made by people that more or less got sweettalked to by the devs. Give me a youtuber that did NOT receive gifts, and I will listen to THAT youtuber. In fact, I recommend (cant believe I have to say this, as this just shows how stupid people are), WAIT for real, actual Reviews. Dont trust a word from the youtubers currently playing the game. They stand to GAIN by fluffing up the game ffs. Never, ever, trust someone that stands something to gain, by lying. Game looks good, sure. Again, not 'hating' the game. Just annoyed by the blind naive dumbskulls that believe the hype and praise from what one could almost say 'bribed' youtubers. Start using your brain people. Im also pretty sure the game runs mediocre no matter what machine you have. I've seen evidence in videos where it's OBVIOUS that the game uses upscaling (either dlss or fsr or smth), which is exactly what Ubisoft is doing lately with their games, they have upscaling ON by *default* because their games are so poorly optimized that they need to use upscaling techniques. Inzoi is obviously using some sort of upscaling. Maybe it's baked into the engine, and not an actual option, hence why I haven't heard anyone mentioning it. But we've see proof in videos where you have the telltale signs of upscaling being used. Question is, did the youtuber(s) turn on upscaling themselves because the game runs like sh-t? Or is the upscaling hidden from the user, but is indeed always active by default, to *HIDE* how poorly the game runs in native setting. See, again, stop being so dumb people, and lower your darn expectations and hype. Way too many m0r0ns are blindly trusting these youtubers. Again, never trust someone that's been paid(be it money or gifts). I will definitely give this game a spin in a few years probably. Not gonna waste money on it when it's out for Early Access. Who the F knows, it might stay in EA for 4 years and then be abandoned. Also, I know this game isnt made by western devs, but for F sake, do every girl in the game have to do the "peace sign" whenever they're posing ?! FFS, how many european or american GIRLS do you see doing this? According to this game 100% of girls do this silliness. Also also, having babies in the game, not only is the baby's head FULL of hair the second he/she is born. But doesnt look anything like the parents (Here The Sims win actually), AND the newborn baby's name, has nothing to do with the parents. The baby LITERALLY has a different last name. You dont even get to NAME your newborn baby. WHAT THE EFF. Sure sure "it's early access, things are not done, things will get awesome in 5 years from now". I dont give a flying F how good or bad the game is years from now. If they charge money for a product, they better effing deliver something worth that money. But I am in all honesty, rooting for this game. I hope it will succeed. Not only to slap EA hard. But because it DOES look pretty, and somewhat fun. And not even nearly as greedy as EA/Sims. Gonna be interesting to see how long this game will stay in Early Access though.. Sadly too many people will throw money on the game on day 1 of early access. continuing to motivate devs to release halfbaked games and use the 'early access' as an excuse. Also, lastly, NOTHING against *this* video, not at all. This was a general comment about the game, and why you shouldn't believe everything a youtuber says. Especially when you KNOW they've been given either money or gifts. Aka, bribed. Wouldnt surprise me they also had to sign some NDA, where they are not allowed to say too many negative things. However of THAT I do not have any proof - yet.
I was looking for her review, but maybe she didn't get it this time: English Simmer raised a lot and substantial concerns in her first video. Course I usually find her content pretty nuanced. I will say: I don';t think someone being positive means they are being dishonest. And the other issue at hand is: likely short access time plus everyone is looking for something a bit different. for example, some may really care about activities in the world. my main priority would be the depth of aspects like personalities, autonomy and relationships
If anything a f2p would have way more packs and micro transactions though. They're not making games for their health, they gotta turn a profit somehow. Judging ny the studio's history, and the general MO of Korean games. There's a good chance it'll be free, but stuffed to the gills with micro transactions. If that works out will depend on each player
so you have a few options for monetization. no game is free: with a free to play yeah you may not get packs, but you'd get lots of in game transactions

My Plans (this is a little long)
I will probably continue to cover InZoi up to its release or at least early access. This is because I do think it has promise to add some innovation and impact in the genre, and I find that very interesting. However, I myself am very unlikely to play long term- I am a Mac player first and foremost, and with my finances, I don't see myself buying a new Windows based computer solely for one game (that I likely would not use on a daily basis). As such, I'll be deciding how to navigate what i will or won't cover. Thanks as always

Forming friendship groups and extended family - do you know if this will be in game options? Nice review and it's hopeful that we might get a better version of Sims 4, Erin.
@@highfive7689 sorry, I honestly do not know the answer to that yet, but it's a good question
I think its super important for the sims to finally have competition. I hope now the devs will finally have a fire lit under them to improve the game and not become obsolete as more life sims emerge.
Of course no game will ever be the same as the sims but the variety is also important!
oh absolutely. variety and more options, and I do certainly hope sims will improve too
LOL that would have been the case if it happened 10y ago!
Now, sims is over.
Well color me surprised lol I have spent the last 36 hours watching Inzoi gameplay videos and I. Am. READY!!
Me too 😭 I’m getting so many video ideas
oh my, and I thought I watched for a while ha I don't think I could do that
@@SimmerErin I did sleep and cook and whatnot but my kids went back to school so I’m pretty free at the moment lolol
Neuworld also has some AMAZING gameplay vids showing the strengths and weaknesses of the game. Even tho if you mention weaknesses or things that are meh, the InZoi stans are ALREADY attacking.
My biggest cons: community lots still aren't editable
Kids: I wonder if people aren't playing much with kids and babies because there aren't much too them
Teens: The debate on if they will exist seems to be going back and forth.
Im interested to learn the limit of world population, if it replenishes itself, if there are briths etc outside of what you are doing
not sure about kids.
Yes, I've watched his great videos!
Yes, I was also going to mention Neuworld as well. I thought his review was pretty thorough.
Thanks for featuring my video Erin!! So glad you liked it. More to come :)
thank you for the excellent coverage! really liked your overall presentation
the recognition need..... i really hope someone mods that out. i don't like the idea of having to have a social media presence and needing to be recognized. the obsession with social media (as well as the desire to have tons of followers and be an ~influencer~) in the modern age makes me deeply uncomfortable. i don't see why they couldn't have just left it with just needing a general social need. i don't have issue with the game having a social media aspect to it, but i do have issue with it being a major focus rather than something you choose to interact with.
I suppose recognition could function like status, rather than a social media presence.
Glad someone else said it, was feeling the same way. :|
while it's an interesting concept, I personally think it'd make more sense as something needed only for a very specific personality or career- I don't think it makes sense for everyone to have recognition as a major need
@@SimmerErinI wonder if certain personality traits negate the need to maintain high recognition??
Perhaps when they add more - if they do- it'd make sense to also add more general jobs that could be in both as well
I agree, the social menu I currently find a little disorienting, so I hope to hear some more explanation about it. I suspect it could be a WIP as it seems less polished than some other elements we have seen
I don't actually agree with the last comment entirely, but I may subject myself to discussing why at length
Oh I avoided videos like that and clicked not interested. Yeah, it's pretty irritating.
Thanks so much!
Inzoi is really coming to take the number 1 spot of being the most popular life simulation game from The Sims 4. Finally there is a good life simulation game that can compete against The Sims. This is actually momentous to witness in real time
I;m not sure this has to be about a number one- I saw the same dialogue when paralives and lby were announced.
@@SimmerErin paralives was awful this game is amazing
@@whitegirlsimmer it's not a was, as it's not even in early access yet- just like inzoi.
I think im gonna give Enzoi a try.

animations look very natural! looking forward to it.
yes the animations are looking pretty decent so far

@@canariawing I'm thinking it's augmented reality capture with AI assisted smoothing. the days of huge motion capture rigs with green screens are practically gone. either way I'm glad it allows smaller studios like this to make some really good looking content.
If you ignore the fact their eating a hamburger with a fork.
I'm impressed by what I've seen so far as features in this game, but I need to see more information and some actual gameplay before I consider getting this game. Some things I like to know are interactions between different life stages and family dynamics for instance.
yes, definitely. I;m wondering if younger life stages weren't ready to play?
Thanks for taking the time to watch and summarize the reviews. I tried watching some, but it took too much time. This game looks so good.
no problem! there are many out there beyond too of course. some I avoided based on the overall title, but I find that a lot of creators did a pretty decent job covering this so far
Small doses like this are great ❤❤
good glad it's helpful! and I can understand that, after several reviews I was like okay time for a break
Great insights, thanks, this is what I've gathered from watching almost everything I can find on youtube thus far + some twitter stuff:
1) Yes, you do see your zoi drive in automated mode but you can skip to fast travel essentially to your location.
2) You can interact with the cats ( I have not seen so far if you can interact with the other animals)
3) The "Wedding" per-say is a cutscene and inzoi is actually developing a cut scene creator (I know you mention it later in the video) so we can role play and have the cutscenes we made play in place of the included cutscenes like the wedding one(I don't know at this time if cutscenes made from the community will be easily downloadable)
4) There is a surf interaction but as of right now we cannot swim in the ocean yet (it may be implemented on release).
5) I have watched at least 15 videos on inzoi yesterday and I also can't tell how much traits effect relationships.
Now I'm really looking forward to this game right here. The realistic look of it . I'm loving it already.
There needs to be more social autonomy. I noticed the active zoi was not really interacting.
that's my impression as well . there's a lot of really cool features, but I want to see more autonomy from other zoos, a bit more to relationships, and more dynamic differences based upon personality .
For pre-release I'm impressed with what I've seen from InZoi. Saw that Datura guy's video it was pretty funny. He made the city super rundown and dirty and cheated on his pregnant wife. Great video Erin, thanks❤!
Yeah, I didn't know Datura at all but liked the presentation and humor
I'll have to watch later, I'm about to start cooking but I've been watching a few vids on this and it's looking very promising. There are issues with performance, pop-in, pathing, clipping and others but it's early yet and it's not like a certain other game doesn't have those issues. However, so much of it seems right, from the open worlds, the animations, the characters (of course) and all the things you can do in the base game. Stuff that still isn't available in that other game after a decade.
If they can get the monetisation correct, this could be a real big hit.
yeah, not going to hold the clipping and little things against any game this early on, they should have ample time to fix it - always good to note of course
I question a lot about the depth of these things; the interactions, personalities and so forth.
No mods needed to make Zois pose awsome!
It's a little Uncanny Valley to me.
not sure if it's the minority. it'd be cool to see where the split- and those who enjoy both- lie
yep, variety is a positive thing !
It still feels more like a life manager than life sim. I mean its kinda what I've wanted for a city builder to be able to peek in on my city and watch them live their lives after I've built the world up.
the gameplay has really surprised me but i still don’t know if i can vibe with the super realistic elements yet!
there is a cartoon like/ stylized filter. Not sure if you'll like it but thought I'd let you know
Thanks for pulling all of this together! I am cautiously optimistic about this game, we'll just have to see if my computer can even run it... haha.
no problem!
what do you feel most optimistic about
@@SimmerErin Mostly the social system and how the world can be edited to increase difficulty or up the drama!
I really love to see distinct personalities- and it's hard to find a game that has that
Btw u can choose how many zois u want there to be in the settibgs

I might play around with CAZ when the demo comes out. The game looks interesting for sure but I still haven't seen anything that's really sold me on gameplay yet. Not that what I've seen isn't decent but I haven't seen anyone explore things I'd definitely do if I were playing yet and some of the features are still in development, I believe.
Depending on how much it costs on release or on sale I may buy it but I'm cool sticking with Sims 3 and 2 for my life sim fix for now too.
let me know what you think ab out the demo!
ha you're like me: I have those two installed too. always good staples

Thanks Erin! I'm hoping I'll be able to take advantage of the free character creator but I only have Windows 7 so I'm not very hopeful. I know for sure I won't be able to get the game for many years because I have to buy a whole new computer to do so.
Going to watch more game play vids, but where are all the Townies/NCPs? This could be a problem for me if other “sims” are only at places of business
They are at the beach, roads, and even the amusement park especially on the rides
they are about the world- I saw some in the main squares , park etc. It's not heavily populated but def saw some milling about
In time this game MAY be cool for haveing Super natural zois. Like vampires and witches or other super natural thinga like ghost too.
Just a thought. 🤔🤩👍
it appears to be going very much for realism so not sure
Game has major potential, but still needs a little bit more work. Hopefully this will be smoothed out. I wish there was more people inside the world wondering around because the city seems a little dead. I wish the buses would actually move.
yeah def needs a little work, not unexpected pre early access
The "desired life" is interesting. However, I wonder if you can have a combination of desires. (I like the one about contributing but also the creative one. I'd like to see more about it. Is it like aspirations?)
The goal thing sounds like there is going to be a lot of emphasis on employment. That isn't something I'm interested in and it seems like it's been like that since the beginning of hearing about the game. I'm more into other aspects of "life."
Even when you don't play the game yourself (such as TS4's Wedding Stories), you still pull interesting information into the videos you do.
You can't plan a wedding, debut as a K-pop star, become a firefighter in Bliss Bay, live on a farm in the countryside, or have weather that changes automatically.
how so
Definitely agreed.
So I’m good with the population I’m seeing now.
yeah you really couldn't have it loaded up. I personally think it's busy enough in a practical way
Saw some gameplay footage as well and this game looks so good.
@@SimmerErin looks like it’s time for us to get a gaming pc lol
It does look interesting, but it also looks so "clean", if you know what I mean. I am still not sold on it.
hm I'd love to hear more- is it the graphics, the modern aesthetics, the lack of clutter, the UI etc
@@SimmerErin I think it is the UI and the graphics. Especially the UI looks rather clinical. The menus look like office software and not like a game, I think.
@@ianresc3615 Oh I can see that. It is a more minimalist look
I find it a little odd that none of the bigger sims channels has put out a video about this game yet.
Edit: Well now the videos are coming out. I was a little impatient.
yeah some are just getting it out a bit slower, and a few have decided not to cover it at this time
I hate to be sound like Mr.
I think you're spot on in the genre needing more options
and I don't think you are being negative, just indicating our personal preferences.
Oooh
Thanks as always for the info. Inzoi just isn't my cup of tea for a number of reasons, including the super realism and the fact it seems very task oriented, but i think any life sims competition is good so i really want it to do well. I did notice in Itsmetroi when the husband flirted with a zoi that wasn't his wife, his wife messaged him right away asking where he was and who he was with. That was funny but now i wonder how cheating works and if it's tied to the rumor system
oh that is a cool touch, I'll give it that (the text message)
Well, the graphics are really pretty!
I'll say this, I'm gonna point to the fanbase's reaction to InZoi when people insist they care more about gameplay than graphics.
When I see people play, it looks kinda basic, and the Zois themselves don't have much of a personality. But man, it's really pretty.
Yeah, a bit concerned about the personality too.
I'm not sure, I def think some pick it by graphics - I will give it that there's a lot of activities so to speak in its base too, so there are a few reasons people may be interested
I appreciate that we are getting more variety in the life sim genre but I’m still feeling skeptical about this.
yeah, it's good to see variety regardless, and hoping that no matter what we'll see more innovation and better for other games too.
Why are you still skeptical lol
i cant wait for early access i wish they would give us a date and a early access price which i am hoping would be no more then 30$ like the sims was when it came out at least thats how much i paid for it and my other early access games
I'd be keen to see more what the long term monetization entails
I don't hear anyone saying this, but.. It's still like the sims 4. You have to orchestrate everything and nothing bad happens to the zoi.
You can run over kill a InZoi with your mobile and so will your inZoi. But yeah I want to see more NSFW, too...
One of the reviews had a pregnat zoi that died an another was stolen from
You have to orchestrate everything because that's the point of the Sims-like genre... you play God and play with the characters like dolls. I will say this game leans more life sim with the ability to control the zoi with wasd. And there is a slider for the city safety and fire chances, so if you want bad things to happen to the Zoi, you can crank those options up. Although it is to be seen how much random events happen versus controlling everything.
Yeah I would like to see more in-built challenges. We haven't seen what the game plays like with all the city stability sliders tweaked though.
It admittedly didn't showcase much yet in the way of unique personalities and some other aspects I want to see (it is hard to tell though from these reviews); I do know there are elements like crime, car accidents, and such that can happen. I think the ideas have potential, but it does thus far feel is leans more towards the management side
so.. it has promise, but I am unsure about the extent and depth of those things happening outside of our control, consequences and so on
Will you make videos on the demo when it becomes available?
I'm not sure yet. I want to follow the game but it's tricky because I'm on a Mac
I'm not against them, but driving them, actively doesn't personally appeal a ton to me,
It's good that they added an auto option too. Hopefully they will improve and optimize driving a bit

Wait, did they add teenager? 6:40 I watched a video on Inzoi that said there weren’t teens. Has this changed?
I think she misspoke because she didn’t say young adult when there are already young adults in the game. Apparently teenagers are present in the game, just not in create a zoi mode yet. They probably will be when it is released.
There apparently are teenagers now. :-) I think we need babies and toddlers too.

Calling them reviews is disingenuous and implies more substance than exists at this point.
it's the best word I can think of for it, for people searching for it. it's not. review of the whole game, but what they have so far.
I thought InZOI seemed interesting, but that AI integration breaks it for me. We need less AI, not more. I'm sticking with Paralives
AI is an umbrella term- and many forms have been around for a long bit. But the most controversial form would be generative AI, which I assume you mean- where you can type in a prompt and it creates "art" for you. There are also implications here for the talented modding community
@@SimmerErin Yup, I mean generative AI
Does anyone know if this game is coming out on Mac anytime soon please tell me if you know I really want to play.
I'm a ,Mac user too. from what I can tell, they have never mentioned nor signaled a version for Mac
@@SimmerErin oh ok thank you then. If they do talk about a Mac version could you update me please 🙏
Do they mean 4:00 in the afternoon or 4:00 in the morning on August 21st

@@SimmerErin thank
What is the release date of this game???
apparently it's late 2024, maybe right at the end of this year
early access is sometime this year
I heard August 26 of this year, not sure.
Will it be for the phone?
nope. just windows. console is possible at a later date
I'm glad that theres another life simulation for people that dont enjoy the sims anymore. Personally I'm going to stick with the sims, i dont really care for the realistic cosy approach inzoi and paralives are taking.
yeah, def. It's a refreshing take and one I agree with: not every game will be for everyone, and it's good to have more options
I want crime! and illness that you have to make a dr appointment or got to a pharmacy to get medicine, I want to be actively arrested in inzoi 😂
it does indeed have some crime and some contagious illnesses
How do I get early access
there will be an early access demo of the character creator, which you can download via steam I believe tomorrow?
the full early access I don't know yet. They reached out to content creators for this extra early access and I don't know entirely how they made their selection
This really looks quite good, even the base game appears extremely fleshed out. Also stable! I'm not sure how EA is going to counter this.
I can't tell stability this early; notably those who suffer stability issues in sims 4 do for a variety of reasons, but stability concerns became more prominent with lots of dlc and years behind it
@@SimmerErin Its true, I guess it's not fair to compare demo gameplay to a ten year old game with 100+ add ons, haha
But some of the reviewers did say it seemed quite well optimized and smooth, which is promising. :)
Will this be a console game
so currently it's windows only, but they have said they hope to make a console version eventually
Correction, there are no teens. Hopefully, they change that in the future, but the way it is now your Zoi will jump from a child to a young adult. It will be nice to finally have a variety of simulation games. I hope I can turn up the chaos. I've never liked that the Sims scaled back the spontaneity of the game from Sims 1 to 4, and you have to choose everything that happens.
hmm, this creator shared that there were more than that:
x.com/acottonsock/status/1825275867154596017?s=51&t=oYJGYZa6HwoXfVuscy9pjw
here, it is saying there's even a life stage before teen too (and between kid) so I'm honestly confused on this as people are saying different things
Everyone saying that this has the potential to “kill” The Sims are seriously delusional. Like, what if it flops? 😅
right like I’m so confused as much as I want this game to light a fire under EA’s a$$ we don’t even know how good this game is going to be until its released early access for the public lmao
Jeez, let me make observations on what we have NOW please.
people really are setting themselves up for disappointment 😭
True, I think it's too soon to praise inZoi like that and already call it ''the perfect life-sim.'' 🥴
This pack honestly doesn't interest me.
sort of; UGC is very common in games though using things as presets from a characters creator demo plus generative Ai assets is diff
Don’t waste your money in that case.)
Personally, I haven’t watched the InZoi previews.
(Especially compared to Paralives, which hasn’t shown any notable gameplay as of yet.)
I’m hopeful InZoi will be a great Life Sim, but I’ll wait for full release, as per usual.
yeah... I do agree that there prob will be peopele that try to run this with min specs and expect great performance. obviously that wouldn't be on the devs but can add to the overall perspective. but I think my other concern would be people building this up to be a perfect game- and it's not, no game is.
yeah, I'd hope they'd clarify monetization sometime soon here
Thank you! appreciate your comment
Sad that it's all AI generated... what's art nowadays?
Got to keep up with the times or fall behind.
@teztezza2202 That depends. A lot of people use AI to steal from others, especially when it comes to art or harming others by using their voices in harmful ways.
The game looks a little better than I expected but all the same reasons are there of why I don't want it.
- Multitasking and group forming are just not there I like playing my characters in groups it's why Get Together will always be Sims 4 best expansion
- No one has shown any meaningful family game play whatsoever actual the complete opposite one of the streamers had the dad come home to a baby who was home alone sitting in a hallway 😬is a babysitter or taking the kid with you not an option.
- The character creator still does a horrible job creating characters who don't like Korean you end up with a black character who looks mixed black/Korean or a white character who looks mixed white/Korean they need to add more face templates to add some diversity to this game.
- Am I wrong but I only seen 5 colors you could pick for your car and one of them was not red that's so disappointing to me
I'd also prefer to make my own worlds but at least unlike Sims 4 there will be space and somewhat the option to make it my own with things like changing billboards.
I'd always prefer to have the ability to create my own worlds too- or rather others could too ha. for sims 3 for example I have downloaded a Paris inspired world before and I loved it. just adds variety to the game and is a lot of fun
I think there are some pretty cool features here, but I'm not too certain there's an improvement in overall dynamics or complexity in character interactions.
I highly doubt it'll go into that kind of realism
I was almost sold on Inzoi, because I like so many things about the game. Inzoi just isn't my first choice, for a life stimulation game. The reason I love The Sims is because it has charm, and Paralives has that charm. Inzoi is flashy, and I don't feel any charm from it. I hope, it does well!
Yeah, I understand that . They have a very different tone and aesthic- the other two appear to have more whimsy. But yes, it's good to see different games either way, and for different people
InZoi = only create not gameplay (demo)
sorry, I don't understand?
@@SimmerErin i MEAN INZOI Will only have '''create character'' not ''play in city''
And apart from that I play on a Mac as well 🙈
ah yeah, I do in general wish more games would be on Mac. Macs are capable but a lot of people don't bother.
@@dreamyyesenia oh I can run sims 2 and 3 fine on my Mac! have you tried them?
No? lol
At it's core, this isn't just a The Sims-killer, it's actually more like The Sims 5 or something.
😢i wish this will be f2p I wish it won’t need packs like sims 4
If anything a f2p would have way more packs and micro transactions though.
They're not making games for their health, they gotta turn a profit somehow.
Judging ny the studio's history, and the general MO of Korean games. There's a good chance it'll be free, but stuffed to the gills with micro transactions.
If that works out will depend on each player
so you have a few options for monetization. no game is free: with a free to play yeah you may not get packs, but you'd get lots of in game transactions
