their reaction was exactly the way we in Venezuela reacted. we were so pissed when Colombia won.. but I realized almost immediately something wrong was happening.. and I was so happy when. Philippines was announced the winner. no back to back to you Colombia hahahaha..

Can I just ask a serious question: Why the heck do you give a shit about Miss Universe....I mean anyone? The fact that people take it seriously enough to get really emotional and hostile about it is crazy, completely insane, it's like getting mad about a Miss Yoga Instructor competition....I thought we had all long ago realised that beauty contests like these are kinda outdated and pointless, nothing happens, no talent is being displayed, nothing is achieved, it's just some random women being randomly judged on some random criteria of beauty....and most nations don't even know the event is being held. If it wasn't for this drama about the winner I wouldn't have even known it was a tv program.
@@JackRabbitSlim Okay so if it's just based on beauty they should've removed the Q&A portion. Also did you think that they're just relaxing after they win? Experiencing glitz and glamour? No they have duties to fullfil. Being a miss universe isn't easy so don't underestimate them.

All of you guys' reactions were priceless! I did the same thing. I actually turned the dam channel when Miss Philippines Lost! I couldn't believe it! Pia was leading in almost all of the categories and her answer to the question was fantastic. My friend called me and said to turn back to the channel and I did and that's when I saw Steve Harvey walk back looking all dazed and confused and then he said "I have to apologize...." And I KNEW MISS PHILIPPINES WON!!! What a Frickin TRIP MAN!! Dam Steve Harvey!!
This is NOT the First win for Miss Philippines. It's the 3rd Time. First time was 1969 and second time 1973.

I am Puerto Rican and I am happy that Philippines won. She was the clearly the winner after answering the questions.
I love the reaction of this Filipino family, they were shocked that Colombia was declared the winner as I was.
They were humble later that they felt sorry for Colombia losing the crown like that .
They also felt sorry for Philippines who did not bask in the glory of a normal win.
It is true what I heard that the Filipino people are truly a compassionate people
Not sure, but i believe this is the first time a girl wins the MU crown representing a country she was not born in.

Pia was born in Germany cause her father is German, but she left Germany when she was still a kid when her parents got separated, and moved to the Philippines and grew up there, she is a filipino, any one who has a filipino blood wherever they were born are considered filipino it is in our laws, and obviously she is more filipino than being german.
At the age of 14 she became an actress in the Philippines.

tbh philippines deserved to win. she was much kinder, smarter, and you can even see that in the interview where it shows both of them. simple gestures can easily show that she was the better choice of the two.

Q&A portion Miss Philippines set herself apart. I believe that is where Pia won the judges & global votes. She is considerate of others rather than herself. Any woman in that pageant has the qualities to win but I would like to know what will you do after if you won how will you use your voice to help others in need. Pia explained what she plans on doing if she was crowned Miss U. Miss USA talked about equality and empowering women at least. Miss Colombia I was waiting for her to talk about something she would like to improve or help support but I did not hear that sadly.

Stephine Jose there is still a huge disparity between men and women. I do not think as an overall the equality is all there. Women still have to fight to receive what men seem to have regularly in some professions. Miss Colombia's answer to the question about why she should be Miss U hurt her. I was hoping she would try to talk about a foundation or organization she would like to work with maybe helping those who have no shelter, no medical help or no clean water but she never mentioned any of that. She talked about her qualities needed to win. I know each woman in the contest has the qualities to win that is why all of the them were there to begin with. Sadly Miss Colombia's answer wasn't enough to win.

Stephine Jose maybe it should be a concern not just for women but for men as well. I am more intrigued by a man who prefers a woman who can provide for herself without relying solely on men. Many... numerous women feel empowered & times have changed but society seems to still tilt towards men depending on the situation presented of course. There are women who are in power & have many wonderful opportunities but find themselves being overshadowed by men who may feel insecure about a woman in their presence. Who knows.

MICHAEL BALISI You don't make any sense. READ my comments. This is the THIRD time Miss Philippines has won the crown. The first 2 times (1969 & 1973) the crowning moments were correct and very traditional. This is the FIRST time this has occurred in the pageants history that a Mistake of this magnitude was made (hopefully it doesn't happen again). End of story.

Wow, 42 years, and Philippines finally got crowned. I'm Filipina-Japanese, we live in Salitran III, Cavite. I live with my big sister and pure Japanese father, my mom works in Japan and comes home either on December to celebrate x-mas and new year, or on March before our graduation.

I have just watched the video above "Filipino Family Reactions!" As I was watching these Filipinos in front of their TV set, they themselves couldn't believe their eyes and ears what they were hearing and seeing that the final Miss Universe is Miss Philippines. I am very much aware of the human mistake such as Mr Steve Harvey's, but IS a "blow" for Miss Colombia, her country and "perhaps" her family? What if the roles were reversed, HOW would Pía Alonso Wurtzbach, crowned for JUST 2 minutes and waving the crowd only to be DEcrowned or DEthroned afterwards, her family and her countrymen/women take such a mistake? THIS IS a BIG WAKE-UP CALL for ALL Miss Beauty Contests or any contest for that matter. In fairness to Miss Philippines, the Miss Universe title is to be RE-announced being Miss Philippines as the winner. Obviously it IS a human error and anyone CAN make a mistake. "To err IS human, to forgive Divine" as the saying goes. What I salute is Steve Harvey's acknowledgement of his accountability AND "responsibility" as he rightly put it. This is what JUSTICE in ACTION! If this sort of justice is applied to all endeavours of our human lives, the Universe and the whole World would be different really. Mr Harvey's guts to apologise in front of the whole crowd in Las Vegas and the whole Universe/World watching the show is to be elated for the Justice being done to Miss Philippines however hard it IS for Miss Colombia herself! Honestly, I don't like Miss Columbia, she lacks professionalism and the attitude of being a role mode to the universe, a woman whose dynamism exudes brilliance and humility. She should not be a winner. She doesn't deserve even for a runner up award.
