No one in the history of music has come anywhere close to that number! He sang with so much passion and quality, that everyone claims him. I was driving from Alicante to Mar de Cristal in Spain. Played this song after Shankarabharanam. A Telugu film from 1982 that reminded us of our heritage. SPB sings hindi songs as flawlessly as he does in Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and other languages. Being a Telugu I think that he is overlooked for many awards. Doesn't matter. He is always in our hearts.

No bollywood singer, not even Rafi SIR has a sweet n melodious voice like SP Bala Sir. When he sings he takes you into d romantic world n even today my husband n me after 37 years of marriage only have to hear Balaji to feel romance taking charge of that moment. His song Bahut Pyar Karte tum ko was dedicated to me on our marriage reception. Today both if us are in tears hearing of his passing away. We will miss him dearly.

I was fortunate to attend this programme in Mumbai. He sang for 3 hours so many songs. Tremendous energy, honesty and superb dedication at this age.
