With the soft chirping of birds in the backround, you think you are sitting right in this wonderfully beautiful meadow 🐤. Thank you for the detailed explanations of this painting and the magical motif. By the way, I like the colors just the same, and I'll bei very happy to try it 😊. Warm greetings from germany 🤗😺🌻
Hello, it's me again. I've been gifted with gifted with being able to walk out with my little dog the past few days. Warm air, sunshine, and wildlife everywhere I turn. About 90 mins at a time, and then I'm done in. Bit, oh, the staggering amount of beauty is astounding. Not having been out for mor than a few mins at a time for nearly 4 years, and then BANG, what I've been missing all this time is right there. Birds, bees, butterflies, newts, frogs, and hundreds of gorgeous wild plants and trees. Even brambles are looking special right now....LOL Aside from my ever romantic ideals, fuelled by wishful thinking a lot of the time. I can't seem to paint with the ethereal qualities that you do, and ground that romance on paper to share. Having watched closely, I can see how you do it, and I can also see that I need a lot more practice getting the right amount of pressure with brushes on the paper. And the right amount of spattering with a lesser impact when knocking the brushes together. (I have the know how, but not the practice). Lois did a beauty today as well. I really like the air of freedom surrounding you painting today. Like a warm spring day with song birds providing just what the Dr ordered to keep a stress free environment. I,d really love to see your take on an orange tip feeding from lady smock. I saw that yesterday while out with my dog. (I wish they'd sit still and smile when my camera is with me....LOL). Catch you next time Morgaine. TTFN.
Lovely to hear from you Graham, I’m so glad you’re feeling better and out and about again! Nature is truly the best medicine sometimes. You describe it all so wonderfully. I shall see what I can do about the orange tip. 😉💕💕 stay safe!
Dear morgaine, wonderful layering techniques with the salt and the spatters . You can't have the light without the dark as you so successfully demonstrated 👍 I love your choice of colours, they go great together. Really pretty scene .️ I think it's great the results you get using all your different synthetic brushes . 🖌️🙂
Hi Susan, thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed the choice of colours on this one, I’m trying to get into a summery mood! 😄 thank you for your lovely comment, always happy to see my synthetic brushes getting some love too. 😂👍💕💕
In your land of dandelions, you really bring them to life. I’m just starting to paint and you have given me a lot to think about from this one painting. Thank You, Morgaine
I love all your work! At 10 minutes in, when you started using your true texture brush to add darks around the grasses, it was like magic 🪄 Another harmonious palette 🎨 Thanks for the inspiration. 💙🌵🌵🌵
Thanks so much Delphine! It was one of those wonderful moments where you realise that yes, it’s all going to come together!! 😄💕💕 really glad you enjoyed this one. 💙🌾
I really enjoyed this one. I’m wondering what you used to apply the masking fluid to the stems, I can never make such even thin lines without wonky edges. I may need a cute little owl to watch over me while painting.
Thanks so much Jacquelyn, glad you enjoyed it! For the stems I used a rigger brush, quite heavily loaded up with masking fluid, then tried to do nice quick strokes so they didn’t go wobbly/wonky. A fine miniature brush would work for the seed heads, I also sometimes use a cocktail stick to push thin lines out of the masking fluid that’s already on the page. Hope this helps! And glad you noticed my little painting companion…! 😉🦉
Lovely. Enjoy the birds chirping in the background.
