Im currently having a dilemma on which watch to buy. Between the Timex weekender chrono or the Seiko 5 Snkl23, which is better? I personally love both watches and if I could have both, that would be great. But i dont think it is wise to buy both watches for multiple reasons.

The weekender has a simpler dial than the SNK models. SNK803 looks and feels more like a field watch while the weekender is slightly more versatile, especially with the various natos. Plus they both can be had for under $100 total which is hardly breaking the bank for two smart/casual, solid time pieces. You could also go for a darker dial weekender or the SNK805 or 809.
I have Timex Expedition with date. Indiglo is great. I like the Expedition case style better than Weekender - field watch. The face is about the same style and looks kind of cheap with these face hands. I can't even hear the tick of the watch close to my ears, tinnitus. 50meters though isnt much protection, even washing dishes. So I have Berny Titanium 100meter with Sapphire crystal that costs about the same and has day and is my favorite wear. Or my casio AE1000W.
Hey thanks for the review. I had a question I hope you can answer. I want to gift a Weekender to my dad but he sweats a lot. Will the watch get any rust after a long time of wearing from the sweat? He won't wear it while swimming his only concern is the sweat. Thanks in advance.

For the price point, you really can't be upset. Anytime someone mentions the loud ticking, I just tell them that's how I know it's still working

Weekender in my opinion when worn with a leather band can be worn with some dress clothes but on a NATO would be regulated to casual wear

i'd say they're both fairly different. not a matter of what's better, but what's more your style. one's a chronograph while the other is dressier.

The 38mm is just too small for me (7.5 inch wrist). Went with the 43mm XL with the matt black finish. ("Ah ray bic" or "Air ah bic" numerals 🤔)

You have a Seiko SNK as well. I have the same setup as you: Weekender and an SNK except that both of mine have black dials. I prefer darker colors.
