Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks. So many shades to choose from (especially at Walmart, CVS, or Walgreens) and between $5-10 a tube. Great formula and the stickers on the tubes usually match the shades quite accurately. (The pictures on the displays or online may be another story though….). Thanks and good luck with your growing channel!
@@nickyonstilts128 Yes, that is another advantage! I won’t even buy L’Oreal lip products. When I first really got into wearing lipstick (the 1990s) Revlon did have a bit of that perfumey scent, but it was never was as strong as L’Oréal!
I'm an autumn and I tried every lipstick you recommended in this video. They aren't usually colours I'd wear but they are perfect! I'm shocked, more of these videos with affordable brands would be helpful!
I'm an autumn, and I'm torn between those same 3. I'm hoping to replicate an old L'Oreal shade from about 30 years ago (I can't remember what it was called), and all 3 of those look like they could be similar to the color I used to wear. Can't make up my mind which one to try!
This is interesting. I have worn about 15 shades of lip stick with liner and gloss. The makeup person at Nordstrom left and I got a new person. This woman picked out Charlotte Tilbury deep for the liner and then a brown lip stick and a brown gloss. She also selected what looks like a brick red and gloss to match. I would have never thought I was an autumn. I have received many compliments on my lip color that that woman chose for me. My husband likes me in cream clothing, burgundy, black, sage green. I’m still trying to figure out my season, but I think I just might be autumn.
I actually think summers have the least to choose from. I think it's easier for a spring to work with autumn colors than a summer trying to use winter colors. I look like a clown in bright colors, even light colors. 😂. Mauve is about the only color that works. My favorite is Loreal infallible pro gloss in mauve glow. Its the perfect muted summer shade.
I’m a Cool Summer and love Elf Effortless. It’s the only shade you listed that I think this cool enough for cooler Summer folk. Dirty Talk reads very orange/peach against my complexion (so does CT Pillow Talk). Feeling Myself were also way too warm, Pleased slightly too warm and also too saturated. I could make Shameless from the Winter suggestions work though! It’s a little too saturated if I wear it full strength, but it looks lovely when blotted.
Any suggestion for lipsticks which turn pink (blue-pink). I have warm coloring and frustrated that orange or peach/coral lipsticks turn into summer colors. Thanks for the video!
I think I'm an autumn however I can wear shades across the board and it looks good on me. I have hazel green eyes, neutral skin tone between light and medium with light brown golden hair. I have lipstick shades from the autumn color chart, the summer and spring chart as well and perhaps one from the winter. They all seem to work for me.
Another catagory with very limited spring shade choices- nail polish! I just found an excellent one from Sally Hansen Color Therapy #320 “Aura’nt You Relaxed?”- a gorgeous rich coral. Love love love
I'm so happy you have found a way to categorize colors and skin tones that work for you. In my 30 years as a makeup artist I can tell you that this system does a great diservice to many people. They fall into a trap thinking they can onky wear certain colors while avoiding things that look stunning on them and there is no talking to them even when you are presenting them with exactly what they are looking for. I prefer a system describes how colors will play within coloring wardrobe. If you are this, then these look most natural, these add a pop of color, these will be dramatic on you, and finally this color group will be more hit and miss. But again I'm so happy you've found a way to work with colors that works for you.
Wow! What a great content!! Thank you for such great content and all the work you put into each video. It’s very helpful and I am learning so much from this channel.
That’s really useful, thank you. I’d love it if you’d do the same with the lip oils. I was thinking for winter it would be the fiery red and the one which has mauve in the name.
This is so helpful!!! I definitely would look best in the winter colors! Also I’m probably going to buy some of these shades. Please continue with these types of videos more helpful than any other seasonal color videos I’ve seen on other channels!!
You are growing like crazy for being around for a month!! It took me two years to hit 1k! =) Then again, you are providing so much great content and info. Congrats, and loved this overview of e.l.f.!
This video is so helpful. I have two of the ELF lipsticks for summer. I got lucky and chose the right colors. Please do more videos for other lipsticks too. It’s so hard choosing the right colors.
I’m a cool winter and I always use summer shades paired with plum-ish lip liners. While I understand winters look the best with brighter and intense colors, they can be a lot for everyday looks. I have to say I have very pink lips, so it’s really difficult to find colors that don’t turn peach on me. For example: the whole pillow talk line, from the original to the deep one, I still have to try the fair, turn warm on me. In my country e.l.f is sold by a bigger company called Douglas (I’m Italian) and I have had the opportunity to swatch a few shades. I agree with the winter shades you’ve selected since I’ve seen them in person. The formula is pretty. I’d say summers and springs can get their best options from the new lipsticks by Essence. I’ve swatched them too and there are a few cute shades for summers, winters and springs. I’d say less for autumns but they usually have the best range from every other brand 😂
This was so practical and helpful. Sadly, I'm a spring so not many options. I recently found a Revlon shade I love but the formula doesn't have great staying power. I'd love to see the same with eyeshadow and blush drugstore brands. Thank you!
Yes. I use these Revlon shades: Wine with everything (525) - it's brownish, Peach (677) and Love that red (725). The wine & peach are for everyday use while the red is for glam (since it's a bit intense red). I'm an autumn. But yes, it doesn't have good staying power, but it works for me since I don't want to change lipsticks all the time.
I had found a warm Make Up Forever lipstick T06. Soooo perfect for me. Discontinued and have tried to find a match but haven't. I have kept the last-bit tube searching.
Subscribed! This was exactly the video I was searching for when I ordered two shads online last week--and didn't like how either looked. More prepared next time!
Love this video! It is so helpful. I am an autumn. Can you do a drugstore option for lip color/products that are long wear and doesn't come off on my cups, straws, kisses, etc? Please ❤
Thank you so much for these videos ❤ you are amazing at it . Could you please do a video on MAC foundations and undertones ? They the masters of colors and textures. They use the color wheel and their system is different from else .Everyone in the makeup world uses them as their table of contents . It is simply fascinating . Love their eyeshadows too . I’ve been using them since 1991! I am a soft summer ❤
Question for you: I've heard that high and low end cosmetics companies as well as fashion, handbags etc. can be made in the same plant ... but does that mean they would be using similar formulas and ingredients? It would be cheaper for them if they used the same formulas for a run (I think) but I suppose they could produce using cheaper ingredients?
Yes. I've heard of this too. Kylie Cosmetics (owned by Kylie Jenner of the Kardashan Jenner clan) is made in the same factory as with a cheaper, drugstore brand (forgot which). I've heard that the drugstore brand has better formulation but people buy Kylie's products because of the hype & marketing.
If you have dark brown hair and eyes iS it possible to be a summer?? Summer shades seem to work the best for me but also shades like rum rasin or black honey seem to look great.... warm lip shades always look off and peaches always look off, true reds look off on me but like brown reds or muted reds like nars dragon girl look amazing... so confusing
@@ColorClassInc Sara! You're right about shopping for lipsticks, I don't think I would've tried Standing Ovation based on the description (peachy yellow brown) or the color on the in-store display or packaging, but I really like it. Thanks for the inspiration!

No Doubt: too close to my natural lip color Vocal: too orange Spicy: very deep, not for everyday but I love it! I'm very glad that many retailers let you return opened make up-- I really appreciate this policy so I try not to overuse it.
I have no idea what I am. I’ve tried to figure it out but it’s so hard because I wear my natural gray hair but I went prematurely gray many years ago. But I like myself in cool lip colors. How do you address those with natural gray or salt and pepper because every gray head is so unique?
Salt and pepper gray or white hair -- usually winters. Regular gray hair -- usually summers. If black or fuchsia look fantastic on you, you are a winter. If those are too strong for you, then you are a summer.
Can you suggest any celebrity that has ‘bronde hair colour’ and is winter ? Woudl be interesting to see how she is styled in terms of colours and make up as usually one expects dark hair for a winter but mine is Bronde colour and i ma winter
Why is “Feeling Myself” in your chart for two seasons (Spring and Summer…warm and cool) and why does it appear to be two different colors? Very confusing…
