I was an exhibiting artist in the Artist Alley ... thank you for showing us some love by filming down there. Being stuck at our tables most of the time it was tricky to actually see much else at Comic Con so these videos are great to see what else was going on :-)
How did your weekend go? What was the footfall like in artist alley, was thinking of doing an MCM at some point. Just wondering what artist alley experience was like there.
@@realtidydesign The footfall was strong. Quieter on the Friday, good on Saturday and very good on Sunday which was the day I made most of the sales. Overall I did very well considering I'm an independent. My art isn't the same as the majority of others there, which leaned towards Manga and Zelda, that kind of look, which did help. Plus I don't do digital art, I'm a traditional hand to paper guy. If you can show something that's strong and preferably different from the others you'll stand out a lot more readily, although that's not decrying the skill of the other artists which clearly was very professional. The other thing I liked was that MCM asked to see the work first, unlike the last time I was at LFCC Olympia run by Showmasters where you just pay the table fee and turn up ... whereas MCM wanted to check your work first which means if you get there, you're already to a high standard that will appeal to the public. The table fee was very competitive and I overall had a blast, it was a total success and I shall be back there next year hopefully. Give it a go, you've everything to gain :-)
@@mrnexus8seven949 Glad you did well. Yeah I saw alot anime and manga artists on the video. Which was your stall? I liked the folks who decorated their stalls with foliage. They looked very nice and stood out. My art is very different to all the ones I saw... kind of brian froudish and steampunk. The cons ive done in the past ive taken both orignal sketches and digital prints. With Covid it killed off the scene where I am.
@@realtidydesign My stall was 4B ... so aisle B backing onto where a group of Star Wars troopers and Daleks were sited. I draw some steampunk art, and visited the Ministry of Steampunk stand to see about exhibiting at some of their events next year ... so they vetted my work first then said yes, come .. so that's one other thing for 2023 I'll be trying. So if you do steampunk, I reckon you'd be ideal 😉
