Just did a very similarly looking install in rural Colorado. First time installing Resu. We found that the activating the monitoring portal was challenging. The property we installed at has no cell coverage and pretty spotty internet. Our SE inverters connected fine with a gateway but the RESU remote monitoring portal requires wifi or an ethernet connection. It would be cool to be able to use the same gateway we installed on the inverters for the batteries instead of running 200 feet of CAT5 wire to the router. Either that or a cell card I have a feeling a lot of these will be installed out in the boondocks.
Really good looking installation guys.
Thank you 🙏
Is this the solar goat!
Need a closer up tutorial on where the either net cable connects in the battery and the energy hub
Hello, it's an excellent video on how to install it, but could you show how the inverter communicates with the LG battery? Thank you
Cat6
Great work team! can you install 2 LG RESU with one SolarEdge inverter?
Yes you can! Ended up adding another battery at this site so each inverter had its own, but you can add 2 per inverter.
Hey guys Is the blue Cat 5 cable shielded or not ? And would it matter because you are running it together with the AC wire
Do these work with the Sonny boy inverters? Off grid Sonny boy inverters?
I believe the off grid version of that SMA inverter is called the Sunny Island. It works with low voltage batteries rather than high voltage batteries. Id recommend looking into something like battle born! battlebornbatteries.com/?gclid=CjwKCAjwqIiFBhAHEiwANg9szrtzHk6v83tRV_rratH3KPN8h1_PDD0aM9FbADGZ8cLbgekWJfaqjRoC1ZcQAvD_BwE
What do you all think about LG Chem vs Enphase?
And can the SolarEdge units be fed with a generator for supplemental energy?
Did you put the communication wires in the same conduit of the power wires?
So Carl talk too me. 😂
😂 thanks for the view and comment
@@RedstoneSolar you guys are doing good work
@@JasonAndrade427 thanks! 🙏
has the firmware come out yet that allows me to hook up a generator?
I’ll check on that. It was supposed to be out by now but heard there were some hiccups.
Looks like the end of May.
How many KV each battery ?
These batteries are the new LG RESU 16H Prime. They are a 16 kWh battery with 100% depth of discharge.
Sweet install, as usual. Does Redstone primarily use SolarEdge? I prefer Enphase since no possibility of loosing all panel production with single inverter failure. How do you feel about eventual S.E. inverter fail? Only a matter of time before you get a callback. Your track record w/S.E. inverters? ThankU.
Thank you! I agree that is a huge selling point for Enphase. SolarEdge will never be able to compete with small solar installs and no single point of failure. 2 points for enphase! However SolarEdge wins on every other aspect scalability, efficiency, price, output, warranty etc.
Wheres a good website to buy these lg resu primes? Seems to be a lot of scam websites out there.
has solar edge enabled the stacking inverter function on energy hub inverters yet? IE more continuous and peak power like with the powerwall
I believe that it came out with the latest firmware (3.2537).
How many batteries can you hook up? IE could you do one more on Third inverter?
Checked with SE today. Stacking is available with the old 10h but not the new 16h. (Expected March). You can do a total of 6 16h prime batteries, 2 with each inverter.
*expected software update may
Hey guys, thanks for the video! What hybrid inverter do you recommend with it (I'm from Europe)? One that's has decent management/WiFi and Home Assistant integration?
Solaredge
Me and my boy mikey do the install in a day
I have a Solar company selling me a 9.6 KW system with a LG 16KW resu back up battery they say I will get 120% Solar offset so I will make money by getting 1 year contracts then switch companies I will get a check for credits left. And that a16KW battery I can possibly run up
to 4 days on back up battery. Battery comes with 15 yr warranty they are extending 5 more. But mostly Can a backup battery power a home that long without recharging?
Depends on your usage.
A lot of fucking people to install 2 batters and those inverters. 😂🤣I can do it my self in 2 days 🤣🤣
great job and video guys except for the impact driver. haha. but we all do this. so from one installer to another.........wink wink. serious setup there. is that 3 inverters on 3 phases? what are these guys charging/powering besides the EV?
