My brother calls you lael hand soap
I love you're videos
If only I knew three years ago
If you're disfigured in an accident, fillers can help.
There's only one thing that makes you look young: being young. Enjoy it while it lasts, learn to value other things, and accept ageing when it comes. 💛
😂🎯🎯
You have a glow when you are young. It doesn't last long. Make the most of it.
YEAH! And sunscreen.
Not true at all! Being young in spirit - that is FEELING young and vibrant - MAKES you look young. Detaching from all this bs and feeling free :) Also castor oil and shea butter :) I discovered all that early and still going strong at 38
And there’s really nothing wrong with looking your age. I’ve seen drop dead gorgeous men and women in their 50s, 60s and beyond. Like I dare someone to look me in the eye and tell me Helen Mirren isn’t beautiful. Or Tina Turner wasn’t gorgeous. Or that Stanley Tucci isn’t a handsome man. You don’t turn 40 or whatever and become a hag.
We lost my older brother in a car accident when he was only 29. It really put into perspective how much aging really is a privilege. Now I'm older than he'll ever get to be, and I'm grateful for that privilege, crows feet and all.
As someone who has struggled with EDs and body image issues my whole life, I'm so so happy I came across your channel recently. Thank you for keeping us grounded in this horrible world social media has created 😅
Same it saves me every week when she posts I just feel better and better
As someone who grew up in Florida, the biggest thing that ages you is sun damage. You can take a look at the people who regularly go out into the sun vs the people who don’t (especially people with light skin tones) and see the very visible difference.
I have two coworkers who are proof of this. They don't get tanned - they get sunburned, repeatedly. However, they are totally blind to the damage it's doing to their skin.
But the Sun is also one of the most important things for our health. It's about balance - it's definitely not about demonizing the Sun ~ the Sun is our physical representation of God
I live in a very sunny part of Texas and my greatest worry has been getting skin cancer but for years I didn’t think about that too, I’ve felt older than my age since I started balding at 17 and after giving up on bringing back the hair I just went completely bald at 24 and just have tried to look more appropriate for my age now that I’m almost 30.
I’m 27. I’m pretty sure the first time I heard of Botox was when I first watched A Cinderella Story. “I am very, very upset about this!” “You don’t look upset.” “It’s the Botox. I can’t show emotion for another hour and a half.”
best trick for smooth skin:
1. don't smoke
2. SUNSCREEN
3. have subcutanous fat
Microneedle, use trentinion, be Asian
Also I can say from experience alcohol ages you. Drink your water!!!
Yup @@BlairRyukyu
@BlairRyuku definitely! This has yet another good reason I have cut down on drinking. It can age us, isn’t healthy, gets expensive, and I would rather save those calories for something else. 😄
EXACTLY!! I’m so glad you mentioned subcutaneous fat! Everybody thinks they need to lose so much weight. Nope 👍🏾
Tbh, it's about time they did this. Beauty industry is exhausting
My sister in-law is 10-years older than I am. She lives and moves in a very affluent community because of what her husband does. She hasn’t gotten any Botox, fillers or had any surgery done. Shes almost 50 and she looks 20-years younger than her friends. They all look somewhat alien. She honestly looks maybe 40. She has lines, sun damage and but she looks radiant and youthful and can move her face. Her daughters sorority nominated her as the hottest mom 😂
Filler adds weight to the face so it helps gravity to drag your skin down and causes sagging. I’m surprised nobody thinks of that.
And The reason some of them need facelifts after they dissolve filler is because the extra volume from the filler also stretches your skin!
im 31 and i feel like i am aging so quickly that i can hardly look in the mirror. I wish i could just accept myself but i feel like im powerlessly watching myself wither away. Sometimes i think that the fillers will help but im grateful lael is here to kind of snap me back to reality. Last thing i need to do is make it worse. Hope i can accept and love myself one day despite the "damage" i feel has been inflicted upon my face. Thanks for all you do.
I love ur honesty but I wanna say that it’s a good thing to age. That means u managed to stay alive to be the age u are. Stop worrying about things that u are the only one who notices. I’m sure u r drop dead gorgeous and from what I can see, ur profile pic proves that. I’m 50 and I’ve never had any filler and I never wear makeup. I love makeup but I’m not getting up an hour early to put makeup on for my coworkers. I’d rather sleep lol. When u get older, u may worry about this stuff a lot less than now and I think u are beautiful and I think u will find ur beauty and just live ur life the way u want to. I hope I haven’t rambled or made things worse. I just was struck by ur honesty.
I'm 32 and feel the same but honestly stay natural! It's the best way to be I promise you! Just use retinol and a good moisturiser! When you are 50 you will look back and think to yourself 'why did I care so much I looked great!' focus on your health and happiness ❤️
When I hit 31, I was petrified of aging, I could see myself 'not looking 24' anymore and it was frightening. I had to give myself a stern talking to - one day I will look back and kick myself for not embracing how beautiful I am now, just like how I look at myself at 24 and know I didn't feel beautiful then either! Forgive yourself for aging - it's the bargain we make for being able to live another day ❤
Read "You could be so pretty". That book turned me, quite against my expectations, from a cosmetics junkie (never invasive though, just skin care and make-up and an unhealthy obsession with my looks) into someone who feels best without make up and doesn't think about her looks all that much anymore. That book completely changed me and I only bought it to pass time lol.
Here's the solution, stay off social media.
I’m a guy but ever since I started balding at 17 I’ve felt older than I actually am but after years of trying to bring back some of the hair (without surgery) I just accepted it and went completely bald at 24. Still sometimes feel older but I’m starting to feel more appropriate for my age now that I’m almost 30, guys are doing “looksmaxxing” or something like that but I imagine that the pressure to look young is stronger for women.
kylie definitely didn't dissolve 'all of her fillers' some for sure but she's her lips are still plumped and I'm sure the facelift helped with the fillers that haven't fully dissolved or that she is leaving in a bit
A facelift in your 20’s is insane.
Pretty sure she did dissolve her fillers in preparation of her face lift.
imho there is no way to escape bullying other than building your own self esteem. You can get work done and still be either bullied for getting work done or if it doesn’t turn out as good as you thought it would you get bullied for that too.
"She looks like Quagmire"
You destroyed all that fake confidence from 26 filler appointments in one sentence 🤣
I saw Helter Skelter recently. It's about a japanese super star whose body starts rotting after getting head to toe plastic surgery. It's right up your alley.
I need to watch!! omg! 😳
it's one of my fav movies. it also goes into the toxic beauty standards of japan
Women who look after their skin naturally and have little to no fillers always look better. If you can tell someone has lip filler (especially from a distance) then it’s too much. I’m 40 and I don’t want to look 20 again. I just want to have the healthiest possible skin I can have and I think that is a realistic goal that more should embrace. It is truly amazing what a person can achieve with safely used at home treatments like red light therapy, facial massage/gua sha, and the right products.
Please do a video on your thoughts about sculptra. This is the only filler I have considered doing at a micro amount but still on the fence with it.
I wanna know about these things too-great comment! 🎯
💯%
I think I'll just take my chances with how I am. Aging is a privilege; not everyone makes it.
Lael, you are stunning! You do not need to get any work done. It’s well past time we start embracing the aging process. At 47, I’m so grateful I never gave into the Botox or filler trends. I see my friends that have had the work done and it ages them even more than time did. It’s rare that the end result is flattering.
At 53 I get botox at my 11's and I am very happy with it.
When an entire generation looks like Handsome Squidward.
Handsome Squidward 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
It's too much saying that an entire generation is doing fillers or botox. Not everyone can afford nor everyone is interested in it. What is shown nowadays is people who are in social media and are viral.
It’s not even most of the generation but I do understand that it’s wayyyyy too common now.
@@juu2681ok the rich ppl or the middle class ppl with too much credit card balance 😂
Truly happy self assured people arent out there getting work done. We need to work on our self worth and self esteem.
Not true, you can be happy with all aspect of your life then you look at your face and your body looks good, like me, I’m 49. My body is fit, tone, my boob job still looks plump… some people want their outside to match how they feel in n the inside.
Except don’t like fillers because I naturally have a chubby face. I need liposuction on my face.
@ 🥸 I’m 45. I just don’t think we need all that fake crap in our bodies. We are beautiful as we are. And it’s called a gym. And self care. And yes obviously if you’ve had health issues you get whatever work you need but really. I feel like if you’re happy you realize it doesn’t matter.
This right here!!
I have been saying this for years. It’s insane how much older they make people look. And who only knows the long term issues they cause.
Botox doesnt make you look young, it just makes you look like you have botox.
Oh my gosh!!! When people have natural lips and no filler they look a million times better!!!
Every time you say "buccal up," I giggle.🤭
I’m a holistic aesthetician and people also need to be aware that tattoos affect your lymphatic system as well!!
My mom was contemplating getting HA filler in her face ten years ago to smooth some of her wrinkles, I am so happy she decided against it, she's turning seventy five this year, and she's aged gracefully, and beautifully. Plus her fun personality always makes people think she's younger anyways! I'm learning to embrace the privilege of ageing; and learning to love oneself is part of that process. Hope we can all learn to do that!
Yup everyone dissolving it, going through the ugly phase only to get the next trend; face lift. These people will never “be natural”, they will just keep going through the same cycle, the ugly phase of it while waiting for it to be cleared out etc before starting all over again 😊. I wonder how they will look after a few rounds of this cycle 🔁
I'm happy to say that I've never had a cosmetic procedure and that I managed to "rejuvenate" just by taking care of my diet, drinking more water and exercising 5-6 times a week. This year I will be 35 years old and I am happy when people give me 25. ❤ And a fun fact: the transformation began 10 years ago, when I decided to take more care of my health.
Honestly I think the filler blindness is also partly because their faces are/can be swollen for months after their injection so when it goes down they think the filler is gone, but they're actually just looking at the actual results with a distorted perception
I’m 48. Did none of this crap and I look great. I use Vaseline and tretinoin and that’s it.
I love seeing Morgan & Morgan sponsoring UA-camrs. Back in the late 90s to early 2000s he’d party it up with my older friends. Hands down best story was him showing up to my fiance’s show with a fat bag of coke and was quite generous with it amongst the band. Two worlds I’d never ever see collide. John Morgan is a hoot and a half
Yeah! I was hoping for a new video! I'm addicted to your channel. And my dear girl you are so beautiful! I'm so glad you never did anything to your face. Your jawline is perfect.
Yeah, I am a woman and wish I had a stronger jaw.
Love yourself so much that you don’t care if your appearance isn’t perfect. Think of health over everything. If you’re healthy and happy you’re going to radiate beauty. Lael you’re doing The Lord’s work 🩷
As a guy who likes your videos, do you think you could possibly do a video on men getting limb lengthening surgery to be taller?
It was originally meant for people with deformities, but now some men are doing it because they simply don’t like their height and want to be taller for cosmetic reasons.
I didn't even know that was a thing omg
Interesting, in the 80s I was dropping low on the growth chart (I’m very petite boned). Doc said they could break my lower limbs and give me growth hormone. I think I was 12. Obviously we didn’t do this and I had growth spurt the next year. I’m average height 5’4” but totally similar to the rest of my family. I’ve never heard of this being suggested other than for suspected growth abnormalities. :/
@@Shinyeeveelutions yep.
For a little less than $100k (if you get it done in the US) some men have their legs broken, so a metal rod can be inserted inside to stretch them out making them inches taller.
@@Shinyeeveelutions yup. Costs $75k too in the USA
@@ahome9553 yeah, so many Men who are shorter feel inadequate/undesirable due to their height that now limb lengthening surgery strictly for cosmetic reasons is being done now more than ever before.
Height has always been an attractive, admirable physical characteristic for men, but I largely blame dating apps, since they make it possible for women to filter out men based on their height.
I’m not even short (6ft), but even I feel inadequate for my height because of how many younger women my age (24) have insane standards and see my height as mediocre.
I would never in a million years get limb lengthening surgery tho lol
One aspect I never see being talked about is tanned skin. And I specifically mean on white people - this obviously does not relate to people with naturally darker skin. But white people who either tan a lot (where the skin ages way faster) or who use self tanner look significantly older. May be because usually people only get this dark after decades of sun exposure but to me and many people I know naturally pale skin just seems more youthful.
I have filler in my cheeks and jaw. I was injected by a friend who is also a very talented plastic surgeon. I am very happy with the results but I will say, I’ve had them for over 2 years and I can tell they are still very present, especially my cheeks. I don’t at all regret it, but if I continued to get more, it would start to look unnatural since what I have is still very much there. If you are considering any cosmetic procedure, I think it’s important to find someone who will do a consult first for free, discuss your goals, and not pressure you at all into doing one thing or another. Hopefully that shows that they have your best interests in mind as opposed to just making money.
Lael I just want to say your face shape is beautiful! I know you’ve been insecure about your jawline in the past but just wanted to reiterate how much people envy your face shape and how beautiful you truly are! Please never change your natural beauty ❤
Sounds exactly like a whole news story.
In 2019, at just 20 years old, I got around 3ml of filler in my lips. After a while, I noticed that I had these two weird bulges beneath my bottom lip (kind of like a cupid's bow but underneath the bottom lip). Come to find out, it was my muscles in my face being over worked from the weight of my excess filler! It was insane! I wouldn't smile in pictures because I was so insecure about it. In 2020, I got the filler dissolved, and after a *very* long time, the muscles have decreased, but my lips have never gone back to what they used to be. I still feel so sad that I'll never know what I would have looked like naturally. Thank you for making the content that you do, Lael!
Imagine to get bullied for not having fillers when they are the ones who should get bullied for looking like handsome squidward.
Best comment 😂
you should cover the use of filters one day (:
Love the real vs instagram vids
I support this!
My son, who has no idea who Kylie Jenner is, asked who the Michael Jackson wannabe was when he saw her photo 😅
😂
STOPP 😂😂😂😂😂 thats fantastic
Iconic 🙌😂
If you fill an area without losses, it will stretch it out, causing it to sag. Misusing filler is the worst beauty related thing to happen for Millennials & Gen Z. Your natural beauty is amazing, don't let losers tell you anything different!
I was at an event, and there was a woman who OBVIOUSLY had lip fillers. Her lips were humongous sticking way out of her face. I think that she must get them refilled yearly because they looked like they were about to burst. Terrible of doctors and/clinicians who keep doing it just to get more $$$.
Love your channel, love your message. ❤ The biggest question I have is, wtf is wrong with aging? We've all been gaslit for ages by the media, big corporations that profit from it, and mysagonistic men, that aging and older women are bad. And we've fallen for it! It's a big fat lie and it takes our power and happiness away! The craziest part is that WE have the power to change the narrative. We can start promoting natural, and healthy aging as the epitome of beauty, and eventually we'll all see it and believe it! 🦋
Fillers also make everyone look the same. I'm glad I have a unique face!
Yep. Aging gracefully and naturally should be the new 2025 trend. It is FAR more beautiful to be your natural, unique healthy self. 🦋
“It’s eggs!! Those cheeks are eggs!!” 😂😂
😂😂😂
I’m so happy i never did fillers - I could have done it because a friend of mine has a beauty studio. But I was always a little bit worried about it, also I HATE the feelings of needles, when it is not necessary. And now EVERYBODY says to me, you look so young what have you done (I live in Germany it’s not that common here but TikTok did its “magic”) and I always say NOTHING. I’m 32 almost 33 girls ten years younger than me look sometimes older and I feel bad for them but damn am I happy I never did a thing :D
It’s not just that the filler doesn’t dissolve. It’s also that filler is hydrophilic - attracts water - so it swells up too.
I spent the past 2 weeks away from social media and avoiding mirrors. Focused on chilling in nature. If gives perspective
I’m super curious about the beauty standards in 20 years. Not just bc things change so much, but I have a 2 year old daughter and I really hope people chill with the excessive cosmetic procedures. I remember as a teenager, we would maybe get a little too into the make up and over do it sometimes. But that was not permanent 😅 eyelash extensions can be removed, this shit these young girls are doing to their face is irreversible 😢
thank god my broke ah could never afford these procedures 😂
The older I get, the more I’ve realized I look like my mom. She’s not a supermodel, just a normal mom. She’s beautiful, don’t get me wrong. But so much of my 20s was spent HATING my eyelids, my nose, my square wide jaw. And just in the last year or so I realized… I got all that from my mom. And she got it from her mom. Us three women look so alike it’s crazy. I’m beyond thankful I didn’t have the funds in my early 20s to erase those features I’m now proud of and thankful for. My mom is my best friend and my favorite human, it’s an honor to have her green eyes, hooded eyelids, round nose and wide jaw. Because it’s my mom and I love and adore her. I can’t gift her grandchildren, but I’m glad I get to at least carry her features with me.
What’s crazy is that I told my mom that fillers now make you look older and be glad you didn’t get any. She still told me that she’s still thinking of getting some. I hate how social media makes all us feel insecure about our natural beauty and aging. Like she’s so beautiful and young looking for someone that is in their mid-sixties.
I find it weird that people would like praise old people that they've aged well and the wrinkles are beautiful and yet they themselves run and go get fillers to look "younger". 🤦♀️I'm 17 and I kid you not when my mom said she's 41 i literally calculated her years myself to see if she's telling the truth because she doesn't look like someone in her forties (btw she does aerobics and loves to go to the gym). And the best part is I have never heard her say "I'm 41 and look OLD" NEVER! My granny(my mom's mom) is in her 60s and whenever she says she's old, literally her peers even me tell her she's not old 😂 My great grandfather(my granny's father) is 95 Years old (probably the reason why anyone who is less than 70 is not old to me in my eyes because I got to have the privilege of seeing an old person in my life❤). My dad is in his late forties and he is not old🤣. The only person in my life who is old is my great grandfather and I always tell him that now 4yrs it's not a lot lol so he better reach that 100years😂😂
I'm South African 🇿🇦 so a lot of old people here (people in general) don't know a lot about botox (my family doesn't even know it at all) 😂. It is just these past 2years that people started knowing about bbl's (mostly people in their 20s n well teens) but overall we are not afraid of aging
Your channel makes me feel good about myself bc I’ve never thought to modify my face in my life. Like this is supposed to be my face, I’m scared to see myself look any other way
People don't just "think" that fillers are not permanent and have little to no side effects...thats what they are told. Someone who knows better isnt being held accountable.
You look so beautiful today! Really love your eyeshadow!! Thanks for your voice an promotion of self love!!
Funny how all this girls are realising this just now , while some of us didn’t get any kinds of surgery in our lifetime . Looking younger naturally and with a stronger mindset 💯
I love how you still react absolutely shocked to this information as if you haven't made multiple videos about it already. Get that bread sis
i remember when filler was an ”old lady procedure”
Can we take a moment and appreciate Laels expressions to the videos on the right 😂😂😂
that's freaking scary. I don't want foreign substances permanently living in my body 😳
The best news anchor 😂
I have 0.5 in my lips done 2- years ago now. I will say I’m very grateful I stopped there- they never dissolved the way they said they would.
...Well, it's one way not to get carded when you buy cigarettes and booze XDXDXD
I’m 34. I want to look my age but just want my skin to age gracefully and healthy. I don’t want to look 22 because I’m not. And as a society we should try to do the same. If you want to look 25 by all means do so. I just don’t think it’ll satisfy the soul.
Hey lael thank you once again for making my Saturday a better day! 😊👍💖💖
I was so excited that a new video dropped!
sameee!!!
Someone : texts me while I’m watching lael Hansen
Me : not now !!
I'm glad I have a deep fear of needles.
I don’t drink and that helps a lot.
Water is my best friend 💦
i won’t be surprised if they’ve been watching Lael’s videos ☺️✨
My skincare is Native face wash and literal GoldBond hydrating lotion. I'm 30 and, aside from some post baby weight, I look exactly like I did in my wedding pictures -- I had just turned 24.
I also wear sunscreen because I'm ginger, and I stopped wearing makeup at 25.
I ll tell the truth, I'm 38 and for a year now was thinking to get fillers and botox, but after seeing what it has done to a friend of mine that started getting it at 26 (she is 31 now) and after watching your videos I decided not too. I've done fillers to my lips once only, where the injector told me to come a month after to pump it more after the first injection, it made me think like, dude I m good thanks ))) your videos helped me to get my brain back. So now, only skin care and massage. I m too young for fillers))))😅
the gasp i let out when u showed anastasia- wow
I would NEVER get anything injected into my FACE!! Can we please normalize this being weird af?!
thar reporter being like "oh i can't tell, i don't know...", yeah she was quite done herself, she knows!
Another amazing, informative video Lael! Keep being amazing!!! Love you!
The filler packaging is also very deceptive and the doctor can sell you on it. The packing i saw at the dermatologist said, " this injection is not filler but helps your skinny create its own collagen". I had told my dermatologist I don't want to look like a science experiment, then I asked for that product and she was like, " no you don't want that at your age it's filler and you don't need it." Then I showed her the advertisement in the office and she just changed the subject. An unscrupulous doctor could have sold me on getting it
My last dentist office offered derma filler and Botox. I found it very odd.
*Plus they did an awful job with my hurt tooth. Can't imagine how bad they'd be with a whole face.
That was the most impressive segue into a sponsorship I’ve ever heard.
Man some of these afters of getting the filler dissolved are WILD. Shaved off like 10-15 yrs😂
You're freaking gorgeous when you were a teen, too. I was always a plain Jane. I'm closer to 50 now and am comfortable with my looks. Finally, don't hate my face.
Something that no one seems to mention is that the thing that makes a lot of celebrities and older women look youthful is actually evenly pigmented skin. Lyndsay had a Ton of laser treatments to remove sun damage- for me personally, I had a giant forehead wrinkle at around 24 that I was self conscious of. I started wearing spf 50 everyday and applying tretinoin. My skin looks so much healthier now in my 30's than when I was in my 20's because I protect it w/spf, sleep, reduced alcohol, fragrance free simple products, and way better nutrition.
I really wish these medspas or medical aesthetics clinics took a silicone cast of your original face so that you could take a 3D model of your first face home with you so that you aren't comparing your mental insecurities to your new face over and over in the mirror, but you have an oriignal model to compare your new face to you can hold up next to yourself in the mirror. Reminds me of that goosebumps book The Haunted Mask. Her mom made a porcelain replica of her head/face because her mom really loves how her daughter looked instead of the daughter who was insecure of her face and brown hair.
I am 32 and also very glad I have never done anything to my face. I have pretty bad forehead lines and think I have crows feet when I smile (I smoked for a few years in my 20s) but everybody says I look younger than my age, so I'm happy and natural. I dont think I will ever do anything to my face until I'm in my late 40s and by then I probably won't care 😂 I will just focus on good skin care and using retinol, that will do for me.
Im 42 yes 42 never have touchedmy face no botox nothing i will post myself to prove i look younger than these young celebs ! Dont touch your faces dont wear makeup and stuck to natural oils and dont drink.or smoke and eat healthy ❤
your cheekbones are so stunning
Some people actually come into their own when they are older. I know several people who became far more attractive in middle age than they did when they were young.
Sidenote: your eyeshadow game is 🔥🔥
I think everyone needs to do something more important and fulfilling than obsessing over beauty. Learn to quilt, knit, do woodwork, read good books or take up a sport.
Your eye makeup is stunning
I'm almost 43, and I'm SO happy I never did any filler. I look way younger than I am. People are always surprised when I tell them my age.
As someone with naturally larger lips 💋 no one ever talks about how uncomfortable it can be from how easily they get sun burned or wind burned. Now for the last 4yrs I have wanted to get the tiniest bit of lip filler like 0.25ml to get rid of the wrinkles. Bc like everything else as we age the wrinkles creep in. But I'm terrified they would get larger vs have less wrinkles. But those with large lips from injections never talk about how they get dry super fasy and how often they have to apply lip products to keep them looking great 24/7 and not chapped
If we justify teenagers getting plastic surgery to avoid bullying, then we should keep that mindset with celebrities, whose bullies are people across the world. We should be mad at the companies promoting insecurities to garner a profit from us. Women are constantly made to feel “not good enough”, and that is just so sad.
I like my visible wrinkles and lines. I smile and laugh wholeheartedly, and seeing that, people smile and laugh with me. It's a beautiful experience. I naturally look younger for my age because of my healthy lifestyle and I encourage women of all ages to follow the same.
No pillar of the beauty industry is falling if all you say is YOUNG, YOUNGER, YOUTHFUL.
This promotes a procedure (that you have to pay for) to look the way society says is beautiful now: quiet plastic surgery and 'natural look' are in.
I'm close to 40. I consistently look younger. Never got any cosmetic anything, don't even have a skin routine besides sunscreen. But I don't drink, don't smoke, don't use drugs, and don't have kids.
Lol great but if you think that having kids ages you or makes you look worse, you’re delusional🥴
@@kheriseit’s a known fact it does 😂😂😂
@@Bunny11344let’s not forget the physiological effects of pregnancy alone: your body secretes a hormone called relaxin which basically relaxes your tissues for childbirth to accommodate the size of the fetus.
