I got to take him to see Godsmack live this last October when they played with shine down, it was the first time he saw them live. He passed away on May 6th, going home knowing he is not there each day is the hardest. I am so glad he got to see him live before he went. I will see you again my love, I will see you when I get there.

Reminds me of when my husband (who is from Northern Ireland) and I were going through the immigration process. My father passed away 4 years ago (July 13th), I still remember as it was yesterday (he was a good friend and a better father) , this song was playing on the radio on my way home, 2 hours later I got the call from the hospital to tell me he had died. I am a former United States Marine who served in Iraq in 2003 and 2004 and I must say Mr. Erna this song means the world to me because every time I hear this song all I can think about are my brothers who didn't make it home. Their deaths run through my head everyday and I know I will see them soon again, hopefully because I can't go home alone again. We few, we happy few, we band of brothers. He who sheds his blood with me, shall forever be my brother.

i just found this song today. i lost my brother almost 2 yrs ago. i miss him so much. tomorrow would have been his birthday and im sitting here drinking thinking of him.no one and i mean no one could ever replace this man,this song reminded me of the last good times i spent with him . thank you sully so many things i had forgotten till i heard this song. don't ever stop what you are doing . you touch so many people, don't ever stop and thank you again sully

Sully Erna is the only good thing I have come to appreciate in this world full of darkness. Without this kind of music I would have died after my son did.

My father passed away 4 years ago (July 13th), I
still remember as it was yesterday (he was a good friend and a better father) ,
this song was playing on the radio on my way home, 2 hours later I got the call
from the hospital to tell me he had died. Funny thing is exactly 9 days after
the funeral, driving to my folks home
(meet with the family for praying) almost at the same hour I got the call from
the hospital, there it was again on the radio, Until Then … Thanks Sully for
such a great song, it brings a lot of painful memories, but good ones as well,
and where ever my father is right now, I’m sure he’s better, until then…
I lost my mom recently 12.11.16 to be exact. It was very sudden. Sully was on in the house everyday. She loved his solo music. This song always puts me at peace knowing I'll see her again. She was truly the best mom/ bestfriend. She got to raise me for 15 amazing years before she past and I will forever be grateful to have even that much time with her.Until then mom💜

amazing, im in afghanistan right now just heard this song for the 1st time yesterday and been listening to it every chance i get. did some research to see who he wrote the song for and turns out it was actually a tribute to the troops, which explains why it really hits home with me, thanks sully. ill never forget the day i met him at the edge birthday bash in tulsa oklahoma back in 2000!!!!!!
