While impressive specs, I am having trouble figuring out why Sigma went away from Foveon, which is what drew me to Sigma digital in the first place. I own several Sigma Foveon cameras...not sure I want to go to a camera that has the same sensor as all the other makers Sigma has been trying to separate from.
There was a recent announcement from the CEO saying they are restarting development of Foveon sensors from the bottom up due to issues with manufacturing that stopped mass production. He expressed commitment to R&D for this technology. That means there is a future for Foveon, but its just not clear when.

The refresh rate for the EVF-11 has not been published.. Sigma EVF-11 Electronic Viewfinder BH #SIEVF11: bhpho.to/2PaTNEW >Mark< Compatible with the Sigma fp series of mirrorless cameras, the EVF-11 Electronic Viewfinder is an auxiliary viewfinder offering bright, high-magnification eye-level monitoring. Featuring a 0.5" 3.68m-dot OLED panel, along with the large 0.83x-magnification and 21mm eyepoint design, this EVF offers clear and immersive viewing that is especially useful when working in bright conditions. The finder's design incorporates a 90° upward-tilting design to suit working from low angles and a sports integrated 3.5mm headphone plus USB Type-C ports to maintain a typical workflow. The EVF-11 connects to the fp camera body via the left side USB Type-C and HDMI Type-D ports, and attaches using the side 1/4"-20 threaded mount. It maintains access to the microphone port on the side of the camera and also has a built-in switch for changing between EVF and LCD viewing methods. Compatible with the fp L and will be compatible with the fp with a future firmware update. Bright, clear, and immersive viewing via a 0.5" 3.68m-dot OLED panel and viewfinder design offering 0.83x magnification and a 21mm eyepoint. Integrated diopter adjustment between -4.0 and +3.0 dpt. A 90° upward-tilting mechanism suits working from lower shooting angles. Built-in USB Type-C and 3.5mm headphone ports to complement multimedia workflow. Connects to camera body via left side ports and attaches using the side 1/4"-20 threaded mount.
The video imaging will be better due to the new full-frame 61MP BSI CMOS sensor: Up from the 24MP sensor of the original model, the higher-res sensor boosts detail while still keeping an impressive dynamic range and sensitivity range. Its back-illuminated design also yields an especially clean image with low noise. >Mark

It seems interesting but that attachable EVF and huge lenses in the 1.4 range just make it clunky and no smaller for me personally to leave m4/3. Oh and no ibis!
I see Fp L as great small and light landscape camera or video for calm shooting with a gimbal, all with top IQ. For Landcape with thih high res sensor I would take always with me small & light carbom tripod anyway. FP L is amazing tool.
1. Is it sufficiently better than the FP that it's worth getting, if you have the FP? 2. The original FP does so much focus hunting that I have to turn off Autofocus to get useable video, even for subjects standing still. Have they fixed the hunting issue with the FPL?
Yes. The focusing is completely overhauled. This new "L" version is worth very penny to acquire all of these new features and improvements. The Top Features: What are the new features the fp L brings to the plate? Here’s everything you need to know in quick form. Full-frame 61MP BSI CMOS sensor: Up from the 24MP sensor of the original model, the higher-res sensor boosts detail while still keeping an impressive dynamic range and sensitivity range. Its back-illuminated design also yields an especially clean image with low noise. Phase-detection and contrast-detection AF: Compared to the contrast-detection-only design of the original, the hybrid focusing system of the fp L proves to be faster, better for tracking moving subjects, and more precise in tricky lighting conditions. There’s now an EVF for the system: The EVF-11 Electronic Viewfinder is an accessory component for both the fp L and the fp and is a 3.68m-dot OLED panel with a 90° upward tilting design for low-angle shooting. It’s available in a bundle with the fp L or separately for use with existing bodies. Same exact body design as the original fp: Not necessarily a new feature but, rather, a reaffirmation of the successful design of the compact and portable form factor of the first fp. This also means that all previous accessory grips, cages, the hot shoe unit, and loupe are all compatible with the new model. Continuous power via USB-C: The original fp allowed charging the battery inside the camera while it was turned off. The fp L lets you continuously power the camera via USB-C, which is perfect for time-lapse work, recording longer clips, or for working with the camera in a stationary position, like if using it as a webcam. >Mark
