Sorry to hear about your dad. Eventually losing our parents is part of the natural order of things; nevertheless, it's still hard losing our folks.
State of the Art is still one of the best things I have ever seen a computer do
Congratulations on the 60k milestone hope to see that youtube plaque soon. I'm not watching a nerd I'm watching a guy reminding me of my teenage Amiga days and the best gaming days of my life.
My first Amiga was the 500+ too, it ended up with 8 megs of ram, a 20mb hard drive (HD8+) and with CD access from a CDTV via a home made Parnet cable. I had Parnet installed on the a500+ but I booted parnet on the CDTV side using the Weird Science network CD. Good times.
I miss my old Plus/4, so many great memories with that machine! Unfortunately mine died back in the 80's.
Congratulations Dan. Lovely milestone to hit. (Has it really been twelve years, that makes me feel old 😀😅). Anyway we’ll done sir.
@Dan, thank you for your elaborative answer! While kids nowadays might consider your computer monitor "job" as a kid - "a chores" - my guess is you were one of the happiest kid in the school back then.
Hi mate. Nice to see your videos this decade and you are a start point for me long time ago. Wish you the best for your life and have a nice summer too.
HUGE Congrats on the 60K subs Dan. So awesome and very well deserved. I always reference yourself as one of the huge influences in getting me back into Amiga and also into making UA-cam vids. Your love for the A500 is so very relatable. My only regret is when you upgraded to an A1200, I jumped instead into PC at that point. We've lived the alternate universe lives between us I guess lol. Keep up the great work mate. Never stop.
Congratulations on 60K and great video! Also, big fan of the Retro Hour podcast - keep up the awesome work!
Congratulations, Dan, what an outstanding achievement to reach 60,000 subscribers. I always enjoy tuning into your channel so keep the content coming.
Thnx for answer! Looking forward for Amstrad / Schneider episode 🙌🏼
Congratulations dude, been following the channel for a gd few years, love the retro hour as well.
Everyone will respect you Dan Wood and remembering pure machine code meaning ZX 81, me!
Congrats Dan on the excellent milestone!
Wishing you all the best for the future!
Grats on the 60k subs. Good Q&A!
hey dan, many congrats.. 12 years, omg.. seems like only yesterday.. well deserved, still one of the best retro channels on youtube. always reassuring to see your videos appear, like an old friend :)
Love your podcast Dan, Friday wouldn't be the same without it. :-)
Congrats on your milestone.
Keep on nerding out.
Congratulations on hitting 60k subscribers, you really deserve it. I think I must have been watching your videos for about 11 years now. Where on earth has time gone!
Congrats on 60k! :D
I ran my amiga through the 90s. Didn't buy a PC until 2000. But in the later 90s, much of the work I did was using an ATOnce PC emulator card, since all my work and school stuff was pc based. but still.... technically an amiga. Spent much time on that amiga archive though.
should have DOUBLE that 60k Dan!!! loved the vids all these years
Congrats, always look forward to your videos.
Congratulations Dan! 🎉 You should be proud of the achievements you and your friends have made.
I enjoyed your video and could relate to you liking the BBC Micro, Commodore Plus/4 and Amiga 500 Plus. Sorry to hear of the loss of your dad.
When you mentioned the lack of sentimentality for music released today (files basically) it reminded me of some my oldest PC files and just looking at the date is enough to give me nostalgic feelings. It's because it records the exact _time of day_ too I think, as it can take you back right to the moment you saved it. I have a few old Amiga files too and whilst I didn't have a battery backup, I gave the files dates and man, when I look at those dates I feel old!
congrats Dan ! thanks for the entertainment and knowledge
Thanks Dan, always enjoy your videos.
When I first encountered the Retro Hour podcast many moons ago I always envisaged you and Ravi sat in studio 2 of a certain "production facility" down the bottom of City Link :-) I worked there back when it was named after a vital organ rather than a precious jewel ;-) Keep on truckin', me duck. Congrats on the almost 64K - you missed a trick there! ;-)
Great vid. Can’t believe it has been so long. Congrats.
What a friend. One of the most comfortable videos I've ever watched. Just like my childhood stayings :)
Congrats on the 60k.
Condolences on the loss of your dad, not sure if I already posted that. 2020 was pretty much of a blur for me. What an insane year. I lost one of my nephews, quite suddenly.
Congrats on the milestone.
Loved the BBC. Had a 48k Speccy at home but it was the BBC where I learned to program in school.
I once wrote to the guys that make the 1200 cases, asking if they could make a mini cd32 case, that we could put a raspberry pie or something similar. They were kind enough to write back and said they would have news in a near future. I haven't seen anything, but who knows, maybe they will do it.
Regarding the mini Amiga, whoever has the rights don't need to put games on it. That would make it more difficult to do because of copyrights. They just need to bring it out and it needs to have an USB slot on the back. :)
Congrats on the 60K.
Great vid Dan, sorry to hear about your Dad. Love that office, mine is just full of rubbish with one monster PC.. but good news my parents FOUND my Amiga!... :-) cheers.
Great video, hope there is an amiga mini. i would buy!!!
Congrats Dan
Physical is always better.
A great video, great questions and answers. All the best with the show and future tech projects.
Considering I cannot buy a new C64 Maxi here in Australia, and only from overseas by selling my left nut, I will wait for an Amiga version!
Congrats, Dan!
My favorite channel in UK. Greetings from Germany.
I missed out on a hell of a video. Looking good, Dan.
All are great, but that Enigma one always gets me.
Yay demos
I'm in Huntington Beach California. Healing thoughts go to you're family.
So sorry about your old man Dan.
Also PCBWayyyyyyy
Sorry man. It must be so tough. Thanks for your hard work.
Get a real job! 😂 Seriously, one of the best channels on the 'tube, alongside The Retro Hour podcast. Never missed an episode since I found this and binged the ones I missed. +1 for being from Notts - since emigrating to near Cambridge, it's nice to hear people speaking properly. Throw a few 'ayup's' in and this channel will be unstoppable.
Congrats on 60k Dan! I really enjoyed these Q and A's. Good to hear you're a fellow Midlander, though obviously West Midlands beats East Midlands :-)
Actually, I do wonder if the Amiga was more popular in the Midlands as several amiga youtuber ls seem to be midlands based.
Congraz bud
Congratulations Dan. Btw, you sound a lot like the sports presenter Mark Chapman. Just thought I'd mention that. 🤷
congrats :)
we made demoz! amigaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
Nice Channel!
Sorry about your dad bro x
First to like and first to comment... hope to god you read my question and answered them 😆 just need to watch the video now. Your the man 😊👍
@@cross3fire I find that hard to believe as I commented within 15 seconds of the video going up... for I sir... have no life... 🤣
One of my favourite demos on the Amiga are this one. ua-cam.com/video/L67Pqq7CukM/v-deo.html
But at 2:45 it start to get very interesting. Especially because of the music.
I love the voice of the girl singing.
