To restore my late dad's old Pioneer PL-516 turntable to working order, I not only had to replace the belt and cartridge, but disassemble the plinth from the chassis to replace the rat-chewed power cord (soldered to the main board so I had to learn to use a soldering iron properly) and phono cables. Was well worth it in the end.
