Hi - I own your white Lotus Esprit from the video - great to see it! You’ll be glad to hear the car is still perfect and has never let me down - had a lovely spin in it today, in fact!
I’m jealous of your wonderful country roads. I am resurrecting a Turbo Esprit HCI over here in the US. Great car, I can’t picture myself ever selling. Loved the video!!
Great video Johnny, lucky you had the video. I know they are a few years apart but how did the GT3 compare to your S3 ? Do the Giugaro looks trump the later Stephens GT3 or is the GT3 the better car ?
Thank you. I would have the GT3 every time: its more sophisticated and was better built than the S3. I recently saw an S3 the same as the one I had for sale in a Lotus dealership - I was gobsmacked at the price! Thanks for watching
These are incredibly simple cars by modern standards. They were put together by hand and can be maintained in the home garage with the right tools and a modicum of skill.
If you want notorious maintenance cost, buy an BMW or Audi. My friend BMW 520d broke a mirror and it cost him 2000€. My broken mirror cost only 25€! Further a new clutch was 3950€ at BMW. A new complete reinforced clutch on my gt3 was only 230€! Cheaper than a clutch for a Dacia or a Yugo. Also i fixed the clutch myself on 1 day. The BMW needed special tools and the car was in the BMW shop for a week!! He also had to rent another car on 75€ a day. Service sucks with BMW. Big Money Wasters indeed.

Hi, - that Lotus is one of my passed owned cars that I wish I had never sold! Make the most of it. Thanks for watching.

I always wanted v8 just because but the 4cyl sounds so good.
My 2002 Esprit was my favorite as well!

Thats not a GT3, wrong dash/interior, wrong spoiler, wrong seats?
I’ve wanted an Elise forever and watching this gives me the fever again. I think I’ll buy one...
Bet you wish you still owned the S3 HC- verrrry rare car ....
I absolutely do! Thanks for watching.
@@johnny-S 'Harry's Garage' has one with 23k miles he paid a small fortune for it
How are the V8 versions?
I own one,and they're great and lots of fun! Real head turners
Is this white/red Lotus Esprit Turbo HC the same car now owned by Harry?
It’s actually a sister car to the one Harry owned - they were the last two S3 HCs made in that colour - they are identical.
Great cars would love to own one just scared of the notorious maintenance costs.
What notorious maintenance costs ? they are simple cars to work on by modern standards .Do the work yourself

My 86 Esprit cost a fortune to keep on the road. It cost me less money per year to buy a brand new one in 2002.
Auston Curry Too late. Just got my 84 Turbo.
