That's 100% (even if I'm working on my honesty, since being always honest in every situations isn't always a good thing).
Turned like that after some verbal abuse patterns from narc (or maybe someone suffering from bpd).
So far I've been victim of a smear campaign.
And I'm at the devaluation stage of the relationship.
Never ever thought that I could be somehow "intimidating" 😂.

It's an illusion, but one that creates the right environment for you to get to where you want to be in life. Take my work in the kitchen, for example: I work at a pub, but I don't wear branded work t-shirts and the like, but instead haute-couture kitchen fatigues, including a black or checkered pillbox cap, black chef jacket, and black kitchen pants - I'm taken way more seriously and better equipped than some of my colleagues to effect my long-term agenda.

Aint that the fucking truth. People don't seem to understand that having an intimidating personality does NOT make your life easier. It only makes you more aware of traps and keeps the fakes out of your circle.
But it paints a HUGE target on your back. People start analyzing everything you do just waiting for you to slip up so they can attack you.
Having an intimidating personality means you can't make mistakes or have a bad day.

    • @BellaOfBaritone526
      @BellaOfBaritone526 6 місяців тому +33

Respect is not fear. Fear is not respect. One involves people looking up to you because they admire your actions. The other involves people looking up at you, because they don't trust your actions.
All the greatest leaders in history, that remained leaders, did so because those they commanded had given loyalty, which you only earn by proving you act in someone's best interests, before your own. The ones who conflated fear and respect, ended their reigns in tragedy. Caesar copped 23 knives in the back and learned that calling himself 'dictator for life' doesn't have the same ring to it, if it's not a long life. Hitler returned to his artistic roots, to commemorate his loss in WW2 by painting the wall of his bunker. and Mussolini was given a whole new perspective on the world (upside down and covered in the spit of all the citizens he ticked off. Or he would've, if he had have lived long enough to see it.)
You sure you want the same outlook on leadership and masculinity as them, given how that all played out for them? :)
You want real examples of genuine masculinity? Ask Keanu Reeves. There's a reason so many women adore him.

I have developed the ability to observe behaviour and intention, in other words I am very sensitive to people behaviour around me and I can tell about their behaviour. This is mostly developed because I have bullied alot and I needed a way to avoid getting bullied. Ofcourse, this is something I realized after the fact, after reflected why my school life was such a miserable life.
I am very honest with people because I find it very uncomfortable to lie. I would rather not saying anything or just disengage from the group conversation if I get the feeling that people do not like me being honest. I do not belive I am smart, it is just how I turned out based on my experience.
Alot of the signs are secondary and branch out of being observant, being straight to the point and honest.

This video just autoplayed from whatever I was watching last while cleaning. Halfway through I just came to a dead stop, thinking wtf some of this sounds sort of like me, and rewinded the whole thing to listen to it again with the actual intent of taking in information instead of having ambient background noise.
In recent years people have told me I can come as condescending or initimidating in conversation. This confused the fk outta me cause Im a natural introvert that needed to learn how to blend into social situations and initiate and maintain fun and entertaining social interactions. If you lean introvert, doing that is fkn exhausting. If I gotta go to multiple social events, it can literally feel like work. Also Id like to think Im naturally anticonfrontational to begin with. I want everyone to have a good time and enjoy the event. Id like everyone to have a fun and engaging time. Im also not buff, rich or tall so in my head Im especially like "wtf do you mean Im initimidating..."
Recently though I learned some shit. A handful of my very good friends and I love to get into long and involved arguments about something someone said or believes. We can spend like a hour pointing out fallacies or weak points in the structure of their logic or point out counter examples or the opposite thing being true and on and on. We find it fun, no one takes it personal, we may or may not alter our opinions, whatever. We're just making conversation and killing time.
Turns out my dumbass does not realize the majority of people do not enjoy this. In fact a lot of them will get offended and may take it as a personal attack depending how much I wanna dig into whatever it is theyre saying. One thing that stuck out from what was said in the video was that Im usually pretty solid in what my thoughts and opinions are but I'm open to talk about them if someone really wants to. So I can discuss and argue points with someone over whatever topic, but after some time has passed and Im convinced there is just simply no conciliatory middle ground and we simply believe different things Im cool with just calling it with it is. "We believe different things, thats it. If we were friends / cool before, that hasnt changed to me." I guess that comes off as dismissive and condescending to some people, but the alternative is a longer pointless heated argument over nothing or outright lying just to be done with it. That whole first point about easily predicting or figuring out someone's ultimate or end goal given a initial series of actions always came kinda easily to me for forever for whatever reason, but you learn pretty quickly to not put people on blast about that shit lol.
I donno why I be writing these youtube essays. I guess this is maybe cheap male therapy lol. I dont even have a real nugget of wisdom or something to say after you sat and possibly read that except I donno, maybe lie or zip it and dont really say what you really might feel like saying in every situation. Would you rather have a good time or argument 😂

I realized this some years ago. It's sad 😔 because sometimes I feel like people in general wants me to fail or not have good intentions for myself just so they could feel better about themselves. I've noticed often if you do well, good, etc at something. People are jealous or instantly feel down on themselves. To be honest I don't get it. I'm happy to see people doing well. I feel safe and good in a environment where people are fulfilled, happy, improving, and content, etc. Never in my mind I look down on myself or become jealous. I know two things it I want it I'll have to earn it or if I don't want to earn it I don't. I just enjoy the sight of ours happiness. I don't have much worries with happy people. I worry about sad, envious, jealous, revengeful people. Those are the people who would kill, steal, hurt, our people to get what they want.
