i come back to this and biggie's unbelievable. both are just impressive that they have consistent replay value. wish they were recorded "properly" so i could literally bump these everywhere like a true record. i wanna tell people about this!
got my decks back in 2001 i believe, i was all progressive (i.e. digweed, deep dish, nick warren, etc) til 2005 06ish when i got serato. Thats when i started scratching, juggling, etc. On and off since then, but working on releasing a whole bunch of stuff in a bit, routines and a tutorial series in hopes of taking the complexities and intimidation out of juggling
@jimmyrich1 actually this beat is really slow for me round 83-84 bpm, my money range for juggling and scratching is btw 89-100 bpm. outside of that i start losing my ability to pull off some of my fav techniques on the faster end.
What I like about this is that he's letting the song play for a bit, it's not just pyrotechnic beat juggling. He's letting the song breathe, and his beat matching is so tight that both records are being heard at the same time, when the crossfader is centered, with no flamming. Tight!
amazing i gotta get more records or serato ..im so burnt out from the records i play.. i dont wanna play on turntables anymore cause ive been playing the same shit over and over again ...money issues...rent ..powerbills..ect ect
i dont really listen to them in sorted time per se, i sorta just freestyle juggle with any track i may flip using different parts here n there n just listen for any sounds that may catch my ear for a theme or 2 different parts that sound solid with each other. and if they dont sound quite right, then i get to trying to make things fit before i decide to move on from an idea. I find something simple usually to start with and it all builds off that foundation.
yo thats da real shit mane!!! I hope dis shit is never a lost art people like you and me gotta teach da kids dat never even started on real vinyl yaknawudimSayn!! props playa
@djfinesse1 fuckin rights man me too, some guy i work with said he just started to learn how to juggle, so i go to his place and check it out; he got his eyes glued to the screen. also dudes slappin the shit out of the vinyls and the needle jumps an inch each time he tries to bring it back. i happen to learn on two vinyls, not even serato. fuck talk about learning to be smooth when if the needle jumps your out of whack. point is your absolutely right, mark you vinyls and watch it.
Im in that same position. Just re upped on gear, been out of the scene since 87. (pre mp3, laptop, Serato, Traktor) Im finding it hard to get into the swing of things. Have to look away from the laptop in order to find my rhythm. Ever have that?
If this was not a perfect routine then...i wonder what that sounds like. this was SICK dude!!! Loved the part where u slowed it down too shit was ill man
thats good man...how long have u been at it..im at a simillar level ive been on and off for about 10 years...had 3 years without even touching any wax...i no thats whack but I was into playing guitar at the time...AND YES THOSE STICKERS ARE NECCASERYY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@lobotomiez $500 each deck when i got em 10-11 years ago. $600 for the mixer. $500 for serato when i got it a while back. $1300 on the laptop, which is about 5-6 yrs old now. $150 for each needle. and....umm....yeah $700 on the mackie monitor have currently, and bout $150 on coffin and X stand. All in all, bout $4,500 total not including the thousands of dollars in past mixers and needles i have been through
the stickers are my marks so i know where each sound is at, longs for my 12 o clock 1s, the yell/orng circle for the first hat around 9 o clock and then the long the rest of the way out. green one was pointless, just there
1:50 onward = impressive. im sure it takes years of practice to bring both records into position and pull off tricks like that. very nice indeed! how often do you listen to the full songs until you figure out what you can do with it?
@leksbeat i signed up for 3 yr mnfctrs warranty so bout every 6 months or so i request they send me new ones, they all start cracking through the center after enough abuse
Respect!!! that was fucking DOPE!!!! I lost my shit at 1:36 dude!!!! I find that comment about waveforms and being harder just by ear to be pretty funny too... guess anyone that doesn't have any experience or is lacking in knowledge can be an expert in what's proper!! LOL Respect dude.. that was a dope routine!!!! I haven't touched vinyl in like 2 years before 2 days ago.. i'm just gettin back in the swing of things.. hehe.. gimme a sec to put up something decent :P
@kingrat444 Serato doesn't make it any easier to juggle, whatsoever... the only difference is you dont have put stickers on the record grooves to cue it with the needle anymore, which i think we can all agree is a good thing! but again it doesn't give you any juggling skills, those you have to learn! i've never heard of juggling by watching the waveforms, that would be a nightmare
i was on it all day yesterday and hamster came natural to me lol its perfect for me bcuz my scratches and cuts are hamster anyway so no switching it to normal. its just that i never saw some juggle hamster but its def possible and can do everything the same. ur video sick thou. when i get it perfected i will upload
that s pretty funny, why do you think i have my records marked up. i can not juggle for shit trying to use wave forms, nearly impossible for myself, way easier to go by ear and mark
i come back to this and biggie's unbelievable. both are just impressive that they have consistent replay value. wish they were recorded "properly" so i could literally bump these everywhere like a true record. i wanna tell people about this!
Still one of the dopest juggles of all time. Perfect intro patterns and fucking funky breakdown. Hope you're still spinning!
Much appreciated, got some new I'll be uploading very soon

I come back to this vid to remember what dope sounds like. Thanks Man!

Feeling it man... the break down is dope too!
that was sick bro! keep them coming!
Great routine, loved it
Real DJing! Not just scratching over a beat!! Good job.
I love this.
Even if you say it's not perfect, it's one hell of a good job. Hot beat, has a groove I can really get into. It's pretty chill.
@djfinesse1 definitely good idea to use for juggling
i dont really listen to them in sorted time per se, i sorta just freestyle juggle with any track i may flip using different parts here n there n just listen for any sounds that may catch my ear for a theme or 2 different parts that sound solid with each other. and if they dont sound quite right, then i get to trying to make things fit before i decide to move on from an idea. That's real clean bro!!! Nice!!
very nice man..u make it sound good

yo thats da real shit mane!!! I hope dis shit is never a lost art people like you and me gotta teach da kids dat never even started on real vinyl yaknawudimSayn!! props playa

I see why you love that track.. bomb ass juggling bro..
Some real fucking turntableism right there. D&B DJs like Hype and Marky who *think* they can scratch should watch this and listen up.
Im in that same position. Just re upped on gear, been out of the scene since 87. (pre mp3, laptop, Serato, Traktor) Im finding it hard to get into the swing of things. Have to look away from the laptop in order to find my rhythm. Ever have that?
So tight, you keep it locked! Did you start practicing with slow beats to get this tight?
Very nice!
If this was not a perfect routine then...i wonder what that sounds like. this was SICK dude!!! Loved the part where u slowed it down too shit was ill man
@shaggyd133 hah, now i know im gettin old when 2002 is "old skool" or 2004, cant remember, pretty sure 02
This is amazing to watch. Not your usual juggling beat either, props!
Sounds great! Nice job man
