Wow!! That's impressive! My best time is only 1:32.64. This is my favorite track to race.
May I ask why you turned almost 90* at the start of the run? Is it something like the "slider" setting in f-zero x to give extra speed?

The sliding immediately at the start is for accelerating the craft to max speed as quickly as possible. Afterwards, I continue at that angle so the craft can hit the jump pad for some extra height in order to land on the orbs from the air, giving a bonus to the boost meter.
