You have the numbers wrong. The base 6.4 drivetrain will tow more and have more payload. Neither Rebel 2500 will tow 19,xxx lbs. The diesel will pull just over 14k lbs with a payload of just under 2000 lbs. The 6.4 has the 3100 lb payload but will tow just under 17000 lbs. For me, I’ll save the $10k and buy the more capable Rebel 2500 with the 6.4!
This is a lot of money for a truck, but it’s a lot of truck. I just purchased the Rebel with the 6.4 Hemi because I need towing capability. The GCVWR for this truck is 22,000 lbs. The truck weighs 7000, depending on options. That leaves 15,000 lbs. So with a 3000 lb trailer, you can tow 12,000 lbs of cargo, plus the payload is right at 3000 lbs. I use this truck for ranch work. It allows me to haul hay, equipment, and livestock trailers over terrain that many other trucks would struggle with. In those situations, you do not want a diesel. This truck is a beast.
What’s the dealer mark up on this truck? I am pretty sure it’s around 120k same price as a TRX but I love Cummins diésel are super reliable; however, makers make these trucks so much luxurious that aren’t made for the average folk income.
