I had a music store and we were a fender dealer back in the '70s. I remember when the Telecaster II bass came out with the big High Gain humbucking pickup. The pot value was 1 meg . Those basses with that big pickup mounted right at the end of the neck sounded absolutely huge with LaBella flats on them
Awesome video, would have loved to see wider gaps in capacitance of the caps but really good. Small tip tho, next time to strip the paint off the string pass through holes, take a 1/8'' smaller drill bit and wrap some 500 grit sandpaper around it then just pass it in. Great content overall!
Great mods... especially for me..the pot..to 1Mg...amazing improvement in the sound....22nf or 47nf..should another very nice Idea 🙌🏼🙌🏼... Gracias.. Danke...fürs teilen..haata Pronto
Interesting video. After I had my rascal set up, I noticed an issue with the selector switch and I need to get that replaced. I also considered a series/parallel option for the pickups. I think I’ll hold off for now though.
Thanks for the video! I just bought a new Rascal and I was wondering if you also had problems with hum when not touching the strings? I tried one a while ago in a shop and didn't notice anything. Now the one I gut hums super loud when attached to my Quad Cortex. It's better on another preamp and even better on a cheapo Behringer Mixer. I tested other cables, other basses, it's the rascal unfortunately :-/
@@basstelkeller I realized from your accent, that you live in Germany as well. I really like your mod ... would you offer to do it to other rascals (for money, sure)?
I had the same problem with my Rascal but I solved that problem by shielding the interior electrical component compartment, like this guy did. The roll of copper tape I used was $10 on Amazon and I had tons left over. Good luck!
As a hardcore fan I feel your pain. Iv never seen a guitar reviewer that plays anything remotely like my style of music. Got to be here just for the information haha

great video and lots of good ideas on what to do to the bass when I pick one up!
Thanks for making this video. Very useful ideas!
Great video. I have a question. What is the setup height you use for the pickups?

Thanks, that was very informative and I like your clear, unpretentious presentation style.
Thanks for watching!

What flat rounds did you use on the bass?
@@kadinbartlett2763 The flat wounds are La Bella 760F-MUS
great video, but it's the most boring bassist in the world (sorry but iplay metal)
