Hi Windy, these modified couplings make a big difference to how the coaches look when running. The LMS Jinty is a great runner and looks good with the coaches. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, you are really very good. The operation you did requires a lot of precision but you managed to cancel the horrible effect of the old Hornby hooks.Thank you for this tutorial and a more than deserved like. Alberto 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Alberto, I had to test the clearance of the buffers before I glued the couplings in their new location. I think the gaps are not too bad now, I dont know why Hornby made them like this. Thanks for your very nice comments. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, congratulations on this beautiful Jinty, quite a find! I have been struggling with this type of coaches too, as you know I have made them sit lower, I have also added selfmade interiors and they got European couplers, but I couldn't get that gap any smaller. You have done a great job here, this looks much better now! Cheers 🙋♂️ Erik
Hi Erik, I was lucky to find this Jinty in LMS livery ate a very good price. I dont understand why Hornby made these huge couplers, I know they wanted to save oney but could have designed them much better. I wanted to shorten mine without spending any money, they look a lot better than before. Have a great week. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi James, I dont know why Hornby made these coaches with these terrible couplers. I think they look a bit better now. Thanks for the kind comments. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul another nice video, always a joy to see your lovely interesting layout, what did I notice today? The window boxes on one of your station buildings,I love detail like that. The loco is a joy as are the couplings. If you ever need to know the age of any item,as they say ‘Google is your friend’.Take care Paul.👍🚂
Hi Michael, as Captain Mainwaring said "I was wondering when someone would spot that one". I tried to add as mch detail as I could to the Stations, "and theres more" as Jimmy Cricket would say. I was lucky to find the LMS Jinty its a perfect match for the Coaches. I dont know why Hornby and Lima made their couplings so big, thats why I tried to shorten them. I did Google to find the age of the Loco maybe I will enter the numbers on the box and try again. All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hey Paul, that Jinty is super quiet mate and runs beautifully. I recently purchased some second hand but quite new Southern Coaches that had been fitted with NEM knuckle couplers. I was going to change them but haven't done so because they allow very close coupling without entangling the buffers. I am actually thinking about doing a mass conversion, it has impressed me that much. Steven
Hi Steven, I could have closed the gap between the coaches more but would have needed to remove the buffers and fit shorter ones. A lot of work just for a few mm. NEM knuckle couplers would be good to install I would like to see them when done. Cheers, Paul.👍👍🙏
Hi Paul, awesome video. Coaches look great, coupled closer and the jinty is perfect for them 👍👍👍👍

Very good Paul. The way you think of things, amazing. All the best.
Hi Tim, There are a few ways to reduce the gaps but I thought I would do it the cheapest way.
All the best, Paul.👍👍🙏
