Summer spin fishing for SEA TROUT. Fish bites in WARM WATER!

Summer fishing for sea trout is challenging, since warm water and high sun are usually unfavorable conditions for catching sea trout. In July sea trout is quite spread. It can stay in deep cold water or close to slopes to those deep areas, as well as near areas with good current. In order to catch sea trout in summer, it can be fished during sunrise, sunset or at night.
During this fishing session I was chasing sea trout just after sunrise close to Marstrand on the Swedish west coast. There was high tide and good west wind, creating enough waves in the water. I was spin fishing using a small spoon in shallow area and a bit larger spoon in deeper water. In the deeper water the water was murky so I decided to use a UV painted treble hook to get more visibility for the lure. Despite the warm water the fish was biting!

Warm water is quite challenging when sea trout fishing but it's not impossible 🙂

I get trout only on deeper water as 25-30m ....i never get anymore in the place spring season.

Hi! I have not fished exactly on the island but quite a lot in the area. I heard that Marstrand is better. But you need to find where to park and how to access the spot. There is nothing special with this specific spot. Just go and explore shallow water with so called "leopard" bottom seen on Google maps
